Character
Ello, Ello.
It's been a couple of months since my last LFG post, and I figure it's about time I reached out to see if anyone would be interested in a thread and, if things work out well, potentially writing partners in the future.
With that in mind, I figure that I may as well tell you a bit about the character.
In the tradition of many Chaos characters from players who had absolutely no clue about the forums lore (and arguably still don't), Itzhal Volkihar was born a long, long time ago in this Galaxy... probably. The Planescape leaves many questions. Anyway, he comes from the time of the Mandalorian Excision (roughly 700 BBY), when he was sealed away and only reawakened about two years ago or so (or at least that's the OOC date... time is chaotic here).
Since then, he's been a wandering Mandalorian mercenary, a knightly do-gooder as part of the New Mandalorians, and most recently (like the last year and a bit) a member of the Mandalorian Empire, where he serves as the leader of the Mandalorian Protectorate (the wild-west style sheriffs and rangers of Mandalore).
That said, I really would just like to explore the character more and give him more individuals to interact with.
In terms of more detailed ideas of things I'm interested in touching upon
- Backstory threads. There's something of a gap between Itzhal leaving the time capsule and joining with the New Mandalorians, which could be an interesting time for him to encounter individuals if people are interested in having interactions pre-current time period. Otherwise, in the same regard, there is a year-long period where Itzhal joined the Mandalorian Empire and has space for plenty of stories about frontiers, dangerous exploration, lawkeeping and the general duties of a Mandalorian.
- More Mandalorians. I always love meeting more Mandalorians, whether they agree with Itzhal or not; it's interesting to see how the same culture can have so many different forms of characters and interpretations.
- Criminals. Itzhal's a police officer at the end of the day, and though he certainly has experience with hunting down criminals of all types, every protagonist benefits from having a good antagonist to work against. One of my favourite scenes to write was Itzhal trying to convince Tessa Monroe to turn away from their life of crime... it wasn't very successful, but it was fun.
- Law enforcement. Traditionally a Mandalorian lawkeeper, the nature of the Mandalorian Empire and their contracts mean it's possible to have a Mandalorian like Itzhal come over and provide assistance, whether it's in a combat-oriented peacekeeping mission, an investigation or even in a training manner.
These are just some ideas, though; what I'm really looking for more than anything is just reasons to expand my writing base and hopefully get some more posts and threads out into the forum.
