A prototypical female Echani, Esmeralda Io’s delicate visage is not dissimilar to that of others from her species. She has heard the phrase, “all Echani look the same” muttered more than once in her presence and as pertaining to her facial features, she is indeed no exception to that stereotype. In that regard, her aspect is pale and creamy in tone, centered by a daintily upturned nose, broad teal eyes, and pouty lips which she typically paints in a matte maroon shade. Naturally, her diamond-shape facial profile exhibits a small chin, wide cheekbones, and a narrow forehead. However, her face lacks some of the angularity of a typical diamond, which is instead rounded out by slightly plump cheeks and full lips.

While Esmeralda’s facial features are quintessential for a female Echani, her physical features somewhat less so. Her upper body has the the slender and airy frame of most young, physically fit female Echani, with petite shoulders, a small ribcage, delicate forearms, and a narrow torso. However, her lower body presents a striking contrast. Zaftig and plump, the lower portion of her physique carries the vast bulk of her mass, with expansive hips, plump thighs, and an immense, steatopygian backside. Still, her form maintains a subtle, feminine musculature, especially along her midsection, biceps, and thighs. Even with her pear-shaped physique, Esmeralda is far more physically capable than she looks.

As a mercenary, she spends most of her time wearing armor, which she has customized with the addition of pink highlights inlaid into the design and a pink-tinted visor. When not on duty or deployment, she tends to favor catsuits and form-fitting bodysuits.

BIOGRAPHY​

Cast into life from a vat, Esmeralda Io was created on the Scintilla as one of many female strand-cast Sirens designed to fill out the ranks of the nascent Siren Corps. Trained by veteran Model 1 Nuetralizers, her flash conditioning was reinforced with live drills and combat exercises, She quickly proved to be a natural sharpshooter. Thus, as a prototypical Echani with a innate combat instincts, Esmeralda immediately established herself the highest-scoring Cadet in her training class.

And yet, while considered to be extremely skilled compared to her peers, Emeralda needed to further develop her talents in order to become a feared and respected warrior in much the same manner as Darth Xiphos. To this end, Esmeralda presented herself for additional assignments and missions, including a raid on Hoth against remnant forces of the First Order and a boarding action in uncharted space, where she engaged forces of the Ashlan Crusade. These missions not only helped House Io secure vital resources, but they also served as Esmeralda's first taste of live combat, which prepared her to fight the Bryn'adûl.

Soon, she was deployed to Danuta in what would ultimately be the final major battle against the then-declining Bryn'adûl Empire. Accompanying a large force of Sirens and Nuetralizers, she was tasked with assaulting the Danuta Super-Construct and destroying its Drael Tech Hivemind. She engaged Udomek Seker in a short bout during the battle, but she also managed to slay her share of monsters before she was ordered to evacuate, prior to the deployment of a quantum bomb by the Eternal Empire.

After the collapse of the Bryn'adûl Empire, Esmeralda fought their remnants on Honoghr in a smaller engagement. She was also deployed to Mataou to secure nuclear technology for House Io, to use against the Brotherhood of the Maw.

Only months after the Battle of Danuta, Esmeralda was deployed to Tython as part of a boarding team sent to sabotage and destroy the Avatar of War from within. After being separated from her squad by a closing blast door, Esmeralda linked up with Rebecca Hahn. Working together, the two managed to sneak into the superweapon's primary engineering room, where they set charges on the reactor before being engaged by a force of Final Dawn Raptor SuperCommandos led by Joseph Torson. Their mission quickly turned suicidal, but in the chaos of the firefight, Esmeralda was unwittingly transported to the dimension of the Brain Demon, moments before the Avatar of War was destroyed by the charges set by her and Rebecca.

Ultimately, Tython was a pyrrhic victory, both for House Io and Esmeralda herself. Within the Brain Demon's dimension, Esmeralda and Rebecca were forced to pay a price for being saved from certain death in the explosion that destroyed the Avatar of War. Esmeralda was tasked with going to Ession to uncover the biological father of Darth Xiphos. Unfortunately, Rebecca was forced to pay a far greater price. Esmeralda was forced to watched as her partner was murdered before her eyes and transformed into The Deluge, an experience that left Esmeralda feeling guilty for her actions in attempting to save both herself and Rebecca on the Avatar of War. While she returned from the Brain Demon's dimension to a heroine's welcome, being promoted to the rank of Siren Ultra and bestowed with a number of gifts for her role in destroying the dreaded Mawite superweapon, Esmeralda fell into brief depression, rarely, if ever leaving her apartment in the process.

It was only when the nightmares became too great for her to bear did Esmeralda begin her quest to Ession, in order to rid her soul of its debt to the Brain Demon.

In the wake of House Io's collapse (and the dissolving of the Siren Corps), Esmeralda was left aimless. Unable to adapt to a civilian life, Esmeralda struck out on her own as a mercenary, before eventually joining the DeathDrop.

• Subcompact Soldier: Esmeralda is extremely short, forcing her to leverage her Echani skills in a passive capacity to read opponents, rather than actively seeking out unarmed, hand-to-hand engagements. In this, her lack of height translates to a lack of reach. Thus, she prefers engaging her enemies from afar with blasters and slugthrowers.
• Stupid, but Cunning: Created to wage the brutal, terroristic crusades of the Black Knight, for better or worse, Esmeralda was bred to inflict violence and death upon Xiphos’ many, many enemies. Unfortunately, she knows little else outside of this life, making her rather ignorant and lacking in wisdom pertaining to life outside of such violent pursuits.
