On its neck and tail, a display of bright floored feathers can be found which it uses to inform predators of its venomous nature while also attracting mates.[/SIZE]

Young Elmury hatch from eggs and sport dull plumage until they reach maturity after 3 years. Each limb of the Elmury sports a back claw capable of delivering a potent Neurotoxin which drives its victim into epileptic fits before stopping their heart or causing a stroke. Elmury are immune to this toxin as they use it to down prey that they then eat. The toxin sets to work and a single dose can kill a human within a minute if an anti-toxin is not delivered. For this reason, most predators avoid the Elmury[/SIZE]

- [SIZE=9pt]General behavior[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]: Elmury live solitary lives, only coming together during the mating season, during which the males display their vibrant colors to attract a mate. If a male sees competition from another, it will aggressively attack the competition, using its claws to tear and slash at it. Beyond mating season, Elmury generally spend their days meandering through their habitats(which can be found all around Veradune), picking up anything edible with their foreclaws before placing it in their toothed beaks. While they avoid fighting the challenge of large prey, they will strike if provoked, and consider any creature they’ve killed to be their next meal. Elmury are diurnal creatures which sleep in nests, usually hidden away in some secluded area, such as under the roots of a large tree, or in a small crevice of rock. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt] After somehow getting their first taste of Elmury meat, the Zorrens quick set about domesticating them, which usually means setting them in some sort of large pen filled with enriched berry bushes that they can feed from. Once harvest time comes, the zorrens enter the pens, hunt down sizable Elmury then bring them to butchers. While this can be extremely dangerous, hunters always carry antivenom with them while understanding that nature is to be respected, and that killing them without giving a chance is a dishonor to the wilds. While The penned Elmury were quickly exterminated after the arrival of the bandit coalition, the Zorrens have managed to once again pen sizable herds to feed themselves in the future.[/SIZE]
