SPECIAL FEATURES
The Eidolon System represents the pinnacle of non-invasive human enhancement — a self-assembling nanotechnological lattice designed to augment the user's body at the cellular and structural level. Developed as a response to the limitations and social stigma of traditional cybernetics, the Eidolon System strengthens the human form from within, enhancing endurance, strength, and cognition without the loss of organic integrity. Where others replace flesh with machinery, Eidolon refines the body into something greater — a fusion of biology and precision-engineered nanotechnology.
Upon injection, billions of nanobots migrate through the user's bloodstream, beginning a four-phase transformation sequence. First, they infiltrate the skeletal system, correcting microfractures and structural defects while weaving an invisible lattice of carbon nanotubes throughout the bones. The result is a frame of remarkable resilience — lighter, stronger, and less prone to breakage under strain — yet one that preserves full marrow function, avoiding the complications of mechanical grafts or prosthetic reinforcement.
Second, the nanobots extend into the musculature, repairing damage and embedding nanotube filaments throughout the muscle fibers. This augmentation amplifies natural strength, reduces energy expenditure, and allows the user to operate at peak physical performance for extended periods. The augmented muscles provide greater acceleration, endurance, and striking force without sacrificing flexibility.
Third, the nanobots trace the body's neural pathways, lining major nerves with conductive nanotube threads that dramatically increase the transmission speed of electrical impulses. Reflexes sharpen. Reaction time tightens. In combat or crisis, this translates to near-instantaneous responsiveness — the body acting as quickly as the mind can think.
The final phase sees the nanobots converge upon the brain, where they construct a neural nanotube matrix — a lattice of carbon-based computational threads integrated into the cerebral structure. This Eidolon Matrix functions as an embedded processor that can operate in two distinct modes. In passive mode, it supplements natural cognition, processing sensory data and environmental cues subconsciously, manifesting to the user as intuition — a sense, a hunch, a "gut feeling" that something is off. In active mode, the Matrix becomes a conscious digital assistant, providing analytical and tactical support akin to integrated systems such as the NAVI or BARCA frameworks.
The entirely carbon-based construction of the Eidolon Matrix renders it effectively invisible to conventional scans, bypassing most metal detectors and body sensor arrays. Unlike cybernetics, it leaves no external trace — no implants, no prosthetics, no loss of humanity. Eidolon users retain their organic bodies, enhanced from within, and can integrate seamlessly with compatible augmentations or external implant networks for expanded capability.
However, the system is not without drawbacks. The reinforced skeletal lattice, while remarkably strong, inhibits natural bone regeneration — any fracture will require medical intervention. The enhanced nervous system transmits signals more efficiently, but that includes pain and sensory input; users often report heightened sensitivity to temperature, pressure, and physical sensation until they acclimate. The carbon nanotube network also introduces a vulnerability to electrical interference — high-voltage shocks can cause disorientation or neural disruption. Finally, while the Eidolon System can correct preexisting defects during installation, it possesses no regenerative capacity; it cannot regrow limbs or repair damage once sustained.
The Eidolon System is not a weapon, nor armor, nor a replacement for humanity. It is the next step — an invisible evolution of the human form. Stronger bones, sharper reflexes, faster thought.

- Neural Enhancements
- Skeletal Enhancements
- Once the Nanobots are injected they will migrate to the skeleton, restricting the user's skeleton to correct any defects and create a lattice of Carbon Nanotubes throughout the users skeleton that increases the durability of the users bones making them tougher and less likely to break when impacted. Unlike standard bone graft treatments the Eidolon System's bone enhancements do not disrupt the standard work of the marrow.
- Muscular Enhancements
- Once the skeleton has been restructured the nanobots move out to the muscles, again fixing any defects they find while at the same time threading nanotubes through the muscles of the body. These nanotubes will add increased power to the muscles, increasing their strength and decreasing the energy needed to move allowing the user to both hit harder and last longer than they did before the enhancement.
- Nervous System Enhancements
- After enhancing the muscles of the body the nanobots will travel along the nerves, laying a trail of nanotubes along major neural pathways allowing signals to be transmitted around the body faster allowing for faster reactions.
- Neural Enhancements
- As the nanobots leave the nanotubes around the body they all end up running up the spine to the brain. Once they arrive the nanobots will construct a nanotube matrix in the users brain that functions as a computer providing support to the user. The Neural Computer can have either a passive or active function as determined by the user, the functions are set out below.
- Passive: The matrix within the users brain abets their neural processes by taking data and information being provided and analysing it through it's systems. The results are provided as instinct or a gut feeling. For example, in a fight, they would feel that there was someone behind them when the matrix processed a small sound of a foot on gravel and a slight shift of shadows to extrapolate that someone is sneaking up. The user would feel this as a gut feeling and would choose to react accordingly.
- Active: The Matrix will be fully active and function as a personal assistant and battle computer, providing active support and analysis to the user in a similar way to Locke and Key's NAVI or BARCA programs.

- Hidden Tool
- Because the entire Matrix is constructed of carbon nanotubes it can't be detected by metal scanners or other basic sensors, the carbon would read like it was just part of the body.
- Not a tinman
- Unlike standard cybernetics the Eidolon Matrix doesn't have the additional functions that a set of cybernetics has, and no inbuilt weapons. However, it also doesn't require replacing flesh and limbs, it just enhances what already exists, which can alleviate a lot of concern about cybernetics and implants.
- Upgrade?
- Although the Eidolon Matrix has no external combat capacity, or ability to be upgraded, however they can sync with other implants to allow better control and networking of the implants.
- Skeletal Enhancements
- The nanotube matrix strengthens the bones but that isn't to say that they can't be broken, it just takes a little more force. Once a bone has been broken the matrix will prevent the natural healing process and medical intervention will be required.
- Nervous System Enhancements
- While the nervous system enhancement will allow for faster reactions, it also increases the transmission of sensations, such as heat, cold or even touch. While you can be acclimatized, it is likely that users will end up more sensitive, pain is also something that can be enhanced and will need to be accounted for.
- Shock You
- The carbon nanotubes threaded through the users frame makes them more vulnerable to electrical based attacks.
- Not a healer
- The Nanobots will rebuild and correct defects upon first use, but they are not healers. If you are lacking a limb, or if you are hurt they don't have any regenerative properties.
