Description:
The Mk. III continues from the Mk. II, albeit in the guise of a security unit, posessing standard armorplast armor with an agrinium coating. However it removes the presence of the personal shield, as this is generally only needed in major combat scenarios. The pursuit of criminals rarely qualifies as such, and the droids armor can generally withstand standard small arms fire well enough to allow the droid to catch a criminal. In order to combat the inevitable use of EMP's, the droids are wired with a secondary power circuit and power source that only activates if the primary circuit and power source go offline.
The same friend or foe variant that was applied to the YVH-2s has been applied to this model as well. The droid is capable of picking out most vong disguised as other species. Another modification made was the removal of the droids ability to wireless uplink with network systems, and communicate with the use of internal communications software. This was done to make it significantly harder for a slicer to hack into one of the droids and turn it against its handlers. The droids operate much as their living counterparts do, and rely on external communicators such as a comlink.
The droid is now slightly lighter, and very slightly faster than the Mk.I because of the components that were removed, as well.
