  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Experimental gauss-powered disruptor beam rifle
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Energy-based
  • Ammunition Capacity: Large
  • Effective Range: Average
  • Rate of Fire: High
  • Damage Output: Extreme
  • Recoil: High

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Renewable Gauss Core: The E-30X is designed to utilize power cells designed for disruptor rifles. However, it appears this weapon contains a supplementary gauss power core which alters and modulates energy derived from power cells on a sub-molecular level, above and beyond the process normally associated with disruptor technology. This gauss core allows for the utilization of a variety of different power cells, wherein it converts the energy into the devastating levels required to render this weapon comparable to other disruptor-type rifles.
STRENGTHS
  • +Advanced Disruptor Technology: Functionally, the E-30X is an ‘advanced’ disruptor rifle. Although technically this weapon is centuries’ years old, the advanced weapons research conducted within the waning years of the ancient Galactic Empire was unencumbered by any real sense of morality or ethical limitation. This has allowed the engineering behind this weapon system to surpass even modern-day disruptor technology. Not only is it capable of disintegrating organic tissue and all but the most durable of armor plating on a sub-molecular level, but it is able to do so while maintaining surprising levels of stability, dependability, and versatility.
  • +Renewable Gauss Core: (See special features) This feature increases the battlefield viability of this weapon ten-fold, as one could use basic power cells to effectively energize this weapon system.
  • +Beam Weapon: Rather than only firing ‘bolts’ of concentrated plasma as most blaster systems do, this weapon is also able to fire via a sustained ‘beam’ of focused gauss energy, allowing for a unique level of destruction and tactical advantage.

WEAKNESSES
  • -Experimental: Despite its obvious technological advancements and seeming stability under normal circumstances, it should not be ignored that this weapon is still ‘experimental’ per salvaged Imperial records. Replacement parts are rare, and maintenance can be tedious as opposed to other, more simple weapon platforms.
  • -Gauss Instability: While not unstable enough to pose a life safety risk, the Gauss Core has been known to suffer moments of instability when exposed to excessive amounts of ionization or radiological disruption. While it wouldn’t disable the functionality of the core, it may reduce the effectiveness of the weapon.
  • -Overheating: Although the E-30X is a powerful, serviceable weapon, untethered use of the beam-fire setting has been known to overheat the firing mechanism to the point of affecting the user. Damage to the weapon is rare, but overheating to a certain point could result in the weapon being rendered temporarily unusable.

DESCRIPTION

Salvaged from an ancient Galactic Imperial vault on the planet of Eadu, the E-30X is both a relic of a bygone era, and a testament to the technological breakthroughs the former Empire was capable of. Designed under the license of ‘BlasTech Industries’, and in cooperation with the Empire’s secret weapons development program, the E-30X was intended to pioneer the development of weapons for use within the Empire’s special forces.

While the E-30X underwent advanced testing and limited field use, the Galactic Civil War had disrupted further development as funds were needed to supply the Imperial War Machine with ‘tried and tested’ weapon systems, rather than experimental technology. After the destruction of the second death star, and the fragmentation of the Empire as a whole, vaults such as the one discovered on Eadu eventually fell into disrepair and abandon, leaving secrets such as these to be explored by an adventurous few.
