OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To flesh out a First Order remnant under Ivan Cestius
  • Image Credit: Wookieepedia (edits by me) [x] [x]
  • Canon: n/a
  • Permissions: n/a
  • Links: Found throughout submission
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Dvar Imperial Remnant
  • Classification: Rump state
  • Affiliation: Ivan Cestius [x]
  • Organization Symbol:
    • I77AMg4.png
    • QPBsxOg.png
    • The Dvar Imperial Remnant still makes use of the original First Order sigil, though some like to add an Imperial sigil embedded in its heart, showing the double allegiance, concretely being an offspring of the First Order, but also acknowledging the ideological ties to the Empire.
  • Description: The Dvar Imperial Remnant is a rump state formed around 858 ABY, as the First Order fell under the assaults of the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium. It now consists of the remaining citizens and soldiers of the First Order stranded on Dvar, commanded by Admiral Cestius. Vying for power alongside the Town Gangs, Smugglers and Slave Gangs, the Remnant exists to maintain order on the planet and make sure the riches it contains are used for good.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Dvar [x]
  • Domain:
    • New Massada entrenched camp; Dvar City [x]
    • Given the state of near-anarchy reigning on Dvar, the Remnant is forced to act with caution, as most of the areas are under the influence of rival organisations. While the Imperials have secured a tentative hold over Dvar City, they still frequently battle with the Town Gangs to assert control over some parts of the city. The only place where they stand uncontested is in the fort of New Massada, serving as their military headquarters. The rest of the planet, under the control of the Slave Gangs, is out of their reach.
  • Notable Assets:
    • New Massada entrenched camp; Dvar Stormtroopers [x]
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: Having gained precedence over the rest of the First Order refugees, Ivan Cestius established himself as the unquestioned ruler of the Dvar Imperial Remnant, even claiming back his rank of Admiral, and adding that of Warlord of Dvar. Making up the next step of the ladder, surviving officers assist Cestius in the day-to-day management of the Remnant, modelling the structure of power and authority after that of the Armed Forces.
  • Membership:
    • The Dvar Imperial Remnant numbers thousands of members, both soldiers and civilians
    • There is no true requirement to join the Dvar Imperial Remnant, and the Imperials actually try to profit off of the misery of most Dvari to bring them into the fold. Once formally a member of the Remnant, they undergo harsh military training under the watch of grizzled veterans, for a duration varying between six months and a year. After the military integration is over, the newly-minted recruits are given the choice to return to civilian life, serving the Remnant one way or another, or joining the military.
  • Climate: The Dvar Imperial Remnant exists as a stratocracy, meaning every member is expected to adhere to the strict military discipline of the organisation. The feeling that the Remnant is constantly on the verge of being overthrown by the Town Gangs creates a situation of near-paranoia, constant drills, and fear of collapse. All these worries are soothed by a fanatical loyalty to the guiding principles of the First Order
  • Reputation: Whilst being almost completely unknown on the galactic stage, the Dvar Imperial Remnant draws some worried gazes from the other factions on Dvar, as the Imperials are quickly gaining in power. Being seen as ruthless and very ambitious, most Smugglers and Slave Gangs prefer to keep their distance from a potentially aggressive organisation. However, the Imperials are also well-liked by the population of Dvar City, having provided opportunities to escape poverty, protection from the Town Gangs, and hopes for a brighter future.
  • Curios: While the military branch of the Remnant tries to use First Order uniforms and armours as much as possible, the civilians like to wear a small amulet or collar, ornate with a First Order sigil. Some also display tattoos, on various parts of the body.
  • Rules: An Imperial Remnant, the organisation stays loyal to the principles of the Declaration of a New Order [x], as they were reformed by the First Order.
  • Goals: The Dvar Imperial Remnant is at the moment not master on its own planet, and obtaining control of Dvar as a whole is primaeval to any further expansion. In Cestius's opinion, getting a hold of the ores market on the planet is equally important, in order to ensure the Remnant's wealth. No clear, off-world, expansionist agenda has been set up, however, as the organisation has always had a history of isolationism.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
As the First Order fell under the onslaught of the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, many civilians and soldiers alike found themselves leaderless. In the chaos, some fled to Mustafar, Pa'Desh, or elsewhere, and like so many, Ivan Cestius found himself in the middle of a column of refugees. As no clear leader emerged and pointless bickering was to be avoided at all costs, Cestius assumed leadership, claiming his old rank of Admiral. The few vessels that he managed to gather then proceeded to flee First Order space and tried to escape the wrathful armadas of the Ssi-Ruuvi.

Landing on the mud planet known as Dvar, the ex-First Order citizens quickly realised they were stranded. As a security measure, Cestius forbade all contact with the exterior, fearing the Ssi-Ruuvi might come after them. In the next decade, the Imperials were forced to adapt to the harsh environment of the planet and find a way into the politics of Dvar City. While Cestius and a handful of soldiers tried to store as much of their old matériel in New Massada, the civilians managed to establish themselves as a force of stability in Dvar City. Fearing they might try to supplant them, the Town Gangs struck at the civilians, only to back down when the heteroclite ex-First Order soldiers arrived to defend them. Sensing an opportunity, Cestius quickly formalised the power structure of the ex-First Order citizens on the planet, establishing a stratocracy around him, with the officers serving as advisors.

Quickly, plans were set into motion to take over the planet. Cestius gathered the soldiers to begin work on New Massada, hoping to restore it to fighting shape, while propaganda and recruitment campaigns were launched in Dvar City to extend the reach of the Remnant. With limited resources and manpower to work with, Cestius was forced to improvise and cut spending wherever he could until he received an invitation to a meeting of warlords, where he managed to obtain enough support to make his organisation grow. Thanks to his newfound allies, Cestius now hopes to carve a piece of glory for himself and restore order on the frontier world he's been stuck on for almost two decades.

Ivan Cestius Ivan Cestius Hello, I've enjoyed reading this sub!

A few things, however, before this can be approved. All are minor:

Notable Assets | Is there a link for Dvar Stormtroopers or are they simply for reference? If they're simply for reference, please move the link beside the "New Massada Entrenched Camp" for the sake of clarity.

This is a mistake I make frequently these days. I edited.

However, this point is a bit unclear. Are you referring to the link I used to redirect to the Dvar Stormtroopers:
Notable Assets:
  • New Massada entrenched camp; Dvar Stormtroopers [x]
And if yes, what do you want me to do with the link? Should I move it to a more relevant section, along with the mention of the Stormtroopers?
