STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
  • Tactician: Bred for war by the attentive One Sith instructors of the Anaxes War College, Ivan Cestius has put into practice his lessons by serving the First Order of old during its campaigns against the Outer Alliance Planets. These skills, honed among the Imperial First Order Navy, make Cestius a character dangerous to face in space.
  • Great Mind: Military education isn't everything. Ivan understood it very quickly and decided to graduate as Professor at the Dosuun Science University, during his hiatus post-resignation. He immediately specialised in Weapons and Armament, part of his Mechanics and Electrokinetics PhD, and then became Professor at said University. While he hasn't put his brain to work for some time, Cestius would perfectly be able to get back on track in a matter of days.
  • Influent: As a high-ranking member of the Imperial First Order Navy Admiralty and then as an eminent Professor at Dosuun Science University, Cestius managed to create a web of relatives, something useful when he needed to ignore the strict procedures of the Imperial First Order. However, most of these relatives are now dead or unreachable, and this level of influence has subsequently been diminished a lot. As a result, Ivan tried to restore these connections among the Imperial-Dvari and has managed to ascend to a certain level of moral authority in the community.
  • Stranded and Presumed Dead: There are numerous drawbacks to being dead. The first being that eventually, everybody will forget about you, and your memory will disappear. The second applies to people that aren't really dead. When Cestius landed on Dvar with his people, he decided it would be best to limit the contacts with the exterior, and play dead in the eyes of the Ssi-Ruuk. As such, he wasn't researched and was left alone on Dvar. Trapped on a muddy planet, with nothing to escape, he quickly realised he would die there and never see other planets again.
  • Poor: While Cestius had arisen to a certain level of comfort during his time in the First Order, he lost everything as he fled the Ssi-Ruuk. Crashing on Dvar with limited supplies, Cestius quickly began a life of scavenger to repair the furniture he could retain. But as time went by, spare parts became rarer and rarer, increasing the difficulty of the repairs and lowering the amount of equipment he had available.

APPEARANCE:
While Cestius was a muscular character during his service for the One Sith and First Order, he quickly became emaciated as a result of his life on Dvar. Mud getting everywhere, his once-ginger hair is now dyed brown, while his usually pale skin is dirtied by the natural environment. Life on the mudball is not easy, and Ivan has seen as much.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born on Coruscant under the watchful eye of the One Sith, Ivan Cestius was bound to become a soldier of the lowliest classes. Having no wealth nor political connections, Cestius's family's best hope was to conscript Ivan and capitalise on the ranks he would climb.
Choosing to apply to a naval institute in the Core, he quickly demonstrated his talent in applied astrophysics and other space-bound subjects at the Anaxes War College. Thanks to his ruthless work and good results, he managed to graduate with the rank of First Lieutenant. However, the young Ivan soon found himself embroiled with the fall of the One Sith. After some battles in the Core, the command structure was completely shattered and he fled the Republic's wrath, rallying Dosuun and what would later become the Imperial First Order.
After a successful rise to power, the Imperial First Order began expanding in the Outer Rim and Wild Space, clashing with the Outer Planets Alliance and the Galactic Alliance. Cestius was at the forefront of this expansion campaign until he was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral.
Choosing to resign from his position in the Navy, Cestius applied for a PhD at Dosuun Science University in Mechanics and Electrokinetics, and after he became Professor, joined the Imperial First Order Department of Military Research. He actively worked to improve the already-impressive war matériel of the Order and to create new, devastating weapons.
It was with shock and surprise that Cestius witnessed the fall of the Imperial First Order at the hands of the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium. From his position, he threw everything he could towards the preservation of the Imperial state, but faced with the capture of Dosuun, joined a band of civilian and military survivors and fled to the fringes of the Imperial First Order.
They managed to settle on Dvar and establish a new life on the backwater planet. While the rest of the group was determined to influence the local politics by controlling the Smugglers, Cestius threw himself aside and began investigating New Massada. He was most interested in what the ruined fort had to offer and salvaged a lot of used weapons to re-equip his First Order mates.
Unbeknownst to the Imperial-Dvari, however, the First Order had risen again. But, firmly decided to avoid detection from the Ssi-Ruuk, the Dvari limited their contacts off-world. Hence, no one learned of this and the Imperial-Dvari continued to believe they were threatened by long-gone aliens.
Life on Dvar soon became repetitive, and while the Imperials managed to keep their dominance and identity over the Smugglers and Miners, their guard lowered until a fateful day.
Cestius went yet again to New Massada, determined to find a long-range comm device to trigger if needed. But while he was modifying the parameters to have the Imperial First Order plugged in, the device lit up...
