Materials:
  • Frame made from Flax Stahl SLCA
  • Standard internal engine component's
  • Plug in's for tensor field in the frame
  • Self contained with few mount points and connections
  • Outer skin of customers chosen material
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Unimpeded: The engine can quickly move from one medium of propulsion to another.
  • Atmosphere: The upgraded turbine makes the engine faster than the standard Du'thra Radial Ionic in atmospheric flight
WEAKNESSES
  • Hybrid: The engine gets more wear and tear going from gases to water. Leading to higher maintenance when switched a lot.
DESCRIPTION

Illithor decided they needed an engine that could power ships but also handle water landings & provide propulsion below the waves if needed. Especially since his Headquarters was on Taris which has a third of the planet as a giant sea. Looking at ship models in the market places he realized that Quarren and Mon Cala were utilizing his engines for their craft. He studied their designs for a time and found all of them seemed to be honed to take to oceans as well as their normal role. The ideas began and the crude rough draft began.

Using his test ground the team started to work on a hybrid engine. One that could work as before, but also switch to propel the craft under water. The team started to use a simple mechanisms to close off the ionic chambers to shunt water through. Using space that was just there before on the back end of the engine the team added more robust turbines so it could suck through water. The model was given Du-33MRA3 as its designation with the M for mass produced, R for radial, and A for aquatic. Just like Du'thra's other engines they are self contained and ready for hot swapping.
