A Dryas can an enhance a melee fighter in power armor or take control of a group of battle droids or it could be running the tactics of squadrons of starfighters and fleets to even operating system defenses like planetary shields and anti-orbital weaponry.
  • Expandable Programming: A Dryas unit can replicate its core programming and spread it out a network to be have miniature versions of its core programming hosted on individual units (droids, vehicles, starships, etc). Not only does this build network redundancy, but it also allows Dryas to work on individual units on a limited basis even if isolated by communications jamming or other similar network disruptions. Through its presence on multiple computer systems, it can implement principles of parallel computing to provide it with quick and powerful processing capabilities. Outside of its host unit, Dryas is only stored on temporary memory, making it very difficult to acquire samples of from damaged or captured equipment.
  • Multi-Level Operations: Dryas can coordinate and/or control multiple levels of command simultaneously, such as a group of battle droids on the ground along with their air support in the form of starfighters and their host base ship such as a star destroyer. This integration can vastly improve reaction time on different command levels and decreases the time to run up and down the military kill chain. This ability to conduct multi-level operations simultaneously contributes to its ability to effectively conduct an artificial type of battle meditation.
STRENGTHS
  • Artificial Battle Meditation: Dryas's effects improve general battle prowess in a manner similar to battle meditation. Givin pathways allow unusually precise calculations to be made to improve weapon's accuracy as well as those needed to make precise group movements. Dryas augmented units tend to be more coordinated and fight with better accuracy and resilience than without its aid. Dryas is especially effective with this when operating droid-based units, as it can seamlessly take over these units to execute almost perfectly synchronized movements and actions.
  • Adaptable: Dryas can be effectively employed on electronic-based platform on the battlefield, allowing it to be used in any number of roles and circumstances on variety of operations levels, from an individual squad of soldiers to entire fleets.
  • Unorthodox Insight: Imitating the late Grand Admiral Thrawn, the Dryas has a limited ability to can analyze art pieces associated with an enemy and provide some insights into the enemy's thought processes that might not be immediately apparent to the user otherwise. It can also use this insight to produce and implement new tactics and strategies before facing a member of that culture in combat.
WEAKNESSES
  • Communication Dependent: While Dryas can effectively operate on a single unit (such as a starship), it's primary a group-focused tool. If communications between members of the group are disrupted, it looses much of its effectiveness - while local copies of Dryas on each unit can provide programming for enhanced weapons accuracy as well as individual tactical advice/control, it cannot coordinate its actions with other members of the group.
  • Specialized: Unlike many AIs, Dryas has no uses outside of direct combat.
  • Unreliable Insight: Dryas ability to predict enemies is limited and is not improved from the earlier EX-1 Thrawn Simulator. It still boost about a 40% success rate, making it useful for suggesting possible approaches by an enemy, but hardly an infallible tool of prediction.
DESCRIPTION
Lucerne Labs has steadily progressed with developing specialized artificial intelligences based on mapping organic neural pathways, starting with its very basic Lethe system to the much more advanced Compass Navigational AI and Atropos Slicing AI. Its latest advancement and most advanced unit is the Dryas, a tactical-oriented artificial intelligence designed to combine the abilities of its earlier, experimental Thrawn simulator with rapid calculating Givin neural pathways for improved data interpretation and fire control. Dryas uses dual biological neural pathways to improve the tactical performance of allied forces. A chiss neural mapping based on earlier Thrawn simulators along with a rogue Thrawn AI (found on Rothana with Joran Greth) provides Dryas with a conscious tactical planning and coordination abilities which directs more dormant Given neural pathways, which are optimized to rapidly process through complex streams of data to interpret sensor data and quickly calculate accurate fire and movement vectors. Units advised or controlled by Dryas tend to have improved performance, especially when conducting synchronized actions, leading many observers to compare its practical effects to being very similar to those of battle meditation.
