  • Average Height of Adults: 2.7 meters (9ft)
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Red, Gray, Black, On rare occasions Pink.
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions: The Dra'Ok are massive beasts of muscle, horn, fang, and claw. What distinguishes them from many races is the size and thickness of their skull. Designed much like that of a ram's or a bull's the Dra'Ok's skull is designed for bashing and goring their enemies and is capable of withstanding incredibly powerful impacts. Much of the creature's strength comes from an evolutionary past competing on the hellscape that is Khul'Nixilus against Daemon incursions from the World Eater and the many other beasts that roam the surface seeking something to munch on. Yet most recently their species has undergone special modifications due to breeding and genetic manipulation, further enhancing their strengths and weaknesses, turning them into specialized berserkers.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: Rare
Strengths:

Nixali Furnace: Like many species on Khul'Nixilus the Dra'Ok has developed a specialized organ in their digestive tract which allows them to consume any and all organic matter for energy by introducing a chemical that melts down organic matter including their toxins into a nutrient-rich paste which is completely digested by the organisms and thus produces no waste, greatly reducing the time between meals.

Strength of the Ogre: Dra'Ok are infamously strong, able to stand toe to toe with a Wookiee in hand to hand combat.

Flaming Speed: Dra'Ok are incredibly fast and at full sprint can run at 60 kilometers an hour, although this speed cannot be maintained for very long.

Bones of Iron: Dra'Ok bones are incredibly dense and difficult to break.

Child of Violence: Dra'Ok have a specialized organ unique to them called that can produce incredible amounts of testosterone, adrenaline, and growth hormones when their fight or flight reflex is triggered. Not only does this push them into a blind rage and push their strengths to the limit but it actually can help them continue to grow after reaching adulthood meaning that as long as a Drak'Ok continues to fight they will continue to grow in size and strength.

Weaknesses:

Aversion to the Force: The Force is rare among the Dra'Ok, and those who do happen to be force sensitive tend to be incredibly weak when it comes to their powers.

Tiny Eyes: The eyes of the Dra'Ok are small and as a result of centuries of breeding and genetic manipulation are incredibly dilapidated. They can still see but are incredibly close sighted. This close sightedness makes the use of blasters and firearms incredibly difficult.

Nixali Rage: The Dra'Ok have been carefully curated into perfect berserkers. When they enter their berserker rage however they tend to lose all reason and begin to attack anything and everything around them often forgoing tactics and sometimes their weaponry.

CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivore
  • Communication: A Variety of spoken languages
  • Technology level: Extremely primitive, rely on others to develop technology for them to use.
  • Religion/Beliefs:

The Dra'Ok worship the beings known as Daemons native to the Netherworld region of Daemoni Ignius. It is said that the Daemons helped craft their very species from the time before sapience into what they are today, guiding warlords to great victories, guiding priests to uncover technologies and help form a proud warrior society, and establishing the Dra'Ok as the dominant species on Khul'Nixilus. How much of these myths are true or part of persistent legends is up for debate by many, but the Dra'Ok believe it with all their being to be true.

Out of the many rituals associated with their worship of the Daemon, none is more peculiar than the infamous 'Daemon Hunt'. Powerful warlords, priests, or legendary individuals can call for a Horde to invade the Netherworld seeking to hunt powerful Daemons who have some negative relationship with the Horde's chosen Daemon to worship. Most often these hunts end in catastrophe, slaying many minor Daemons but being completely wiped out as they move up the food chain. Few of these hunts are successful, but every Dra'Ok that calls a hunt seeks to die for his gods and to achieve truly legendary status should their hunt be victorious. The bodies of the Daemons killed are brought back to Khul'Nixilus to be consumed and turned into energy to help run the unique technology on their world. The skulls of what few High Daemons that have been slain litter the great temples dedicated to the worship of these entities, towering above even the Dra'Ok and act as a glorious reminder of the heroes of the Dra'Ok species.

  • General behavior:
Families and Clans: Dra'Ok organize themselves into Clans, closely-knit family units ranging from anywhere from a dozen to several hundred. These clans are mostly migratory due to the harsh nature of Khul'Nixilus, wandering the planet seeking food, resources, and conquests. The ultimate goal for any clan is to conquer the capital of the planet and establish their clan leader as the new Kros, their word for the High Chief/Priest of all clans. In order to achieve this goal, the clans war amongst themselves growing stronger with each victory both in their clan's physical attributes but also numbers as they absorb whatever survivors there may be. Yet surprisingly diplomacy is a valued practice as well, promising other clan leaders high ranking positions within the capital should they assist in the conquering of it.

Each clan is different in some ways, practicing unique cultures, battle tactics, and worshiping a patron Daemon unique to that specific clan. Clans can, and usually do, consist of other species than the Dra'Ok. Individuals they took off-world or members of the many other species on Khul'Nixilus can be found within these clans, treated as equals as long as they can pull their weight even if that weight may be significantly less than how much a Dra'Ok can handle. Surprisingly egalitarian, Clans care not for species, gender, race, or other characteristics in their leaders or members only that they're good at what they do and continue to do it to the best of their abilities. Rarely will a clan be led by anything other than a Dra'Ok however, as they would have to defeat a Dra'Ok in melee combat, a rare feat that not many species dare try to accomplish.

Weapons and Technology: Most of the weapons and tech used by the Dra'Ok are either scavenged from their enemies or developed by other species within the clan. This has sometimes led to huge imbalances between the clans. Should a clan trade a significant amount of loot for weapon shipments of modern weapons from smugglers they may quickly rise to the top while their kin scrape by with local materials and tech. Such modern technology is a commodity between the clans and is effectively used as money to purchase goods, services, privileges, or anything else a Dra'Ok may want.

The Kros Moot: The Kros Moot is a rare but important tradition to the Dra'Ok. The Moot is the competition between a challenging warlord and the current ruler of the planet, called a Kros. Each contestant may bring 2000 warriors/warbeasts/vehicles to one of the great arenas within the capital city of Khul'Nixilus. These small armies proceed to clash, whichever army comes out victorious becomes the new Kros. Should the challenging warlord die but their army be victorious than their new title of Kros goes to whoever would succeed them as warlord within their clan, same goes for the current Kros should he die but his army still emerge victorious.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

It is believed that the Dra'Ok are descendants of the Sith Massassi, how or why the Massassi ended up in the Ker'Dast system long enough ago to evolve into the Dra'Ok is unknown but is it theorized that the Sith may have been experimenting with the World Eater, a massive portal leading to the Netherworld on Khul'Nixilus. This relation can be noticed not only biologically but linguistically as many Dra'Ok clans speak ancient versions of Sith or off-shoot languages of Sith.

What is known for certain however is that the Dra'Ok are not native to Khul'Nixilus but rather one of the outer worlds of the Ker'Dast system. It seems that their society developed far enough on this world to develop local space travel and proceeded to colonize the other planets in the system as noted by extensive Dra'Ok ruins from a long-forgotten time located on these planets. However these planets were slowly strip-mined of all their resources and a great war would break out extinguishing all life on the planets other than Khul'Nixilus which would be reduced to the wasteland it is today. With a lack of resources and with much of their population dead the Dra'Ok would devolve into the stone age.

It is only when they discovered the Black Steel growing from the World Eater portal that their civilization slowly began to take off again. What would effectively be an infinite supply of sturdy metal soon helped them dominate the planet once again and begin developing technologies long forgotten by their species. Their connections to the Daemons certainly helped them, exchanging their lives for lost knowledge and secrets of the universe. Ever since the foundation of the capital city of Khul'Nixilus and their re-discovery of space travel they have become renowned pirates, leaving their planet every so many years for grand crusades where they pillage and burn all that they can in the name of their gods and resource collection.
