I always thought it was weird how ships could produce 1G of artificial gravity on board and still fly through star systems without catapulting entire moons out of orbit…

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Enables modular control of gravity fields: the module's amplification matrices and modulation coils allow integrated systems to precisely bend or focus gravitational forces.
  • Built-in modified inertial dampening matrix: contains a variation of inertial dampening emitters combined with components of artificial gravity containment that act as breakthrough components for refracting gravity waves.
  • Compact, standardized component: designed for easy integration into weapons, propulsion units, or shielding systems, providing a common interface for gravity-based functions.
STRENGTHS
  • Gravity Control: Provides integrated devices with the ability to manipulate the flow and state of gravity through targeted modulation and refraction.
WEAKNESSES
  • Codependency: cannot function as a standalone device; must be integrated into a host system (e.g. weapon, engine, or shield generator) to operate.
  • SPECIAL OOC WEAKNESS: in the context of this submission, damage inflicting weapons that integrate with this component can gain KINETIC as a damage type ONLY. Players are not permitted to create weapons that inflict "gravity" damage as an alternative damage type, as gravity is considered a kinetic force, for the sake of preventing the abuse of this submission.
DESCRIPTION

The Dornean Gravity Refraction Module is a specialized gravity-manipulation component designed to be integrated into larger systems. Its development was informed by a survey of established gravitational technologies: for instance, crystal gravfield traps use sophisticated crystal grids to sense spatial gravity distortions; artificial gravity generators aboard starships create internal gravity fields without affecting objects around their respective vessels; and interdiction devices produce targeted gravity wells to disable hyperspace travel. Even the intense gravitational fields generated by Yuuzhan Vong dovin basals could be negated by shields boosted by inertial dampeners.

At its core, the module's function is informed by the way dovin basals can be negated by inertial dampeners, or how artificial gravity systems can maintain 1G of gravity without pulling entire moons out of orbit. At first, experimentation involving synthetic crystals derived from crystal gravfield traps was attempted. But the crystals proved to be too difficult to synthesize correctly. This concept, despite yielding fascinating results, failed to lead to anything practical. Therefore, it was shelved for later study. Dornean scientists changed tactics and slowly whittled away at the mechanisms of dovin basals and inertial dampeners to try and exploit them for a technological epiphany of some sorts. However, they lacked proper samples of dovin basals to properly experiment on, and the research was stalled to a slow grind.

After centuries, their fortunes would change. Upon the expats returning to Dornea, materials were thoughtfully brought with them from the battle of Velabri. The stolen dovin basal samples were taken, experimented on, analyzed, and at last, equations were finalized. Formulae were developed and quickly applied to find ways to combine inertial dampeners, artificial gravity modulators, and synthesized artificial dovin basal tissues. The result was a module that could, at will, refract and manipulate the state and flow of gravity waves.

Because it is a component rather than a complete system, the Gravity Refraction Module requires an external power source and control interface. It cannot manipulate gravity fields on its own without integration into a host device. When installed in a weapon or engine, however, it provides a baseline capability to steer gravity — such as strengthening a targeting beam with a focused gravity gradient or augmenting engine thrust with directed gravitational waves. This makes it a powerful building block for exotic gravity-based technologies.

Hi there.

I can definitely make changes to the submission, but I just wanna double check to be sure of something if that’s ok.

The submission does not use crystal gravfield traps, only crystals, and the submission also does state that the crystals used are synthesized from the actual crystals, and also produce a reduced effect as a result of the synthesis.

If this is unacceptable as a mass production item, then that is fine, I already have alternative methods that in, some ways, make more sense, but I just wanted to pose the question and confirm before I go ahead and make those changes.

Thanks for the explanation, just here you wrote the "derived from crystal gravfield trap technology", Crystal grav traps tech remains restricted, and if you use something from restricted tech, the production scale cannot be higher than the SU or U. That's why I asked for the production scale to be modified. But if you rework this and you figure out something which is not came from there, I'd say, Limited or Minor would be good.

And these, please link them:

So, I am aware that the factory is on moratorium until January 8th. But just so I don’t forget to tag you later (I would likely forget by then), this is finished reworking, and is ready for judgement.

I am in absolutely no hurry.
