But I Am Free

Welcome to Bordal. Once, a decent place to live. Now? Decades of governments taking the planet only to fall apart have left it ripe for gangs to take over. Several gangs now populate it's surface, waging wars over territory for all manner of illegal activity. Slavery, arms dealing, Spice. Nothing was off limits. And without outside support, the locals simply weren't enough to stand up against them. Now they keep their heads down, trying to get enough credits to move off world. Not that any do. Between paying for 'protection' and the lack of honest spacers stopping by to be hired, none had any hope of escaping left.
The Rebellion was here for only one reason. The arms and munitions that could be bought from the Red Vipers were supposedly untraceable. The idea behind it was simply using a lesser evil to fight the larger one. Kahlil hadn't known much about Bordal, even through scanning the holoweb for information. Seemed the gangs didn't allow word to get out, less some major government try to use the planet as a ground for some 'good will'. The little he did find were postings about the crimes taking place. No evidence behind it, just calls for help.
He stepped down off his freighter, hands in his pockets. The Space Port already looked as bad as what he figured. Dirty. Thugs everywhere. Out of the corner of his eye he could even see a spice trade in broad daylight. There was no law here to be enforced. But, there was a mission. The tall Jedi took a breath before heading to the location singled out. He'd meet up with the others of the Rebellion here to pick up the shipment there, then they'd go visit these Red Vipers.
After that, he'd feel more free to do something about what was going on.
