Noah sighed as he poured over the mass of reports about a various amount of things. After action reports, casualty figures, battle damage assessments, equipment reviews and all the other trappings that came with the paperwork side of being a general in a military. Of course why was Noah doing this on a Saturday morning? Insomnia. For the last few weeks he had been suffering from a bout of insomnia, it was a problem Noah had since he had left the Commandos in his old days in the Galactic Republic.

Every few months he'd suffer the condition and it would last for a few days. It used to be a thing Noah wouldn't worry about and just suffer through it by himself. Of course after his marriage to [member="Alexandra Feanor"] it became something that he finally started to have help with. During the usual week-long bouts Alex would wake up with him, much to his insistence that she should sleep, and help him relax and get back to sleep. Of course that had all changed when Morgan and Junior were born.

Sometimes the insomnia had served to help because Noah was awake and was there to care for the twins while Alex could get some extra sleep. Other times Noah mulling around the house had served to agitate the children. None of this had affected Noah and Alex's marriage of course, their bonds were too strong for that, but it made Noah feel a little uneasy. So when the twins were a few months old Noah had come up with a system. Whenever he was suffering from another bout he'd simply sequester himself away in his and Alex's private study and do paperwork or work on various weapon and armor blueprints.

Sighing once again Noah began to sift through another mountain of reports and leaned back into his chair.

Alexandra had been up already, watching the young ones as the months had turned to years already and so much time had passed so quickly. She enjoyed looking at the two beds, the two still young enough that they did not need their own rooms. Granted, there wasn't a lack of space at this home but Alexandra was insistent on the two sharing a room for now. It felt wrong to have them sectioned off in their own rooms for now, when they were older she would do so but for now they were just toddlers. The thought made her sigh as she stared at them still, head leaning against the open threshold and yawning slightly.

It was not odd for her to be awake this early in the day, the kids waking her up aside. She had spent decades fighting in wars and tending to gardens, operating in all hours of the day and night during either. But those moments of peace sometimes felt wrong and this was one such time, leaving her feeling like something could go wrong at the drop of a hat. It had her pacing earlier and now she pushed off the wall and let the door silently closed as she walked down the hall. It took her a while to come out to a balcony and to breath in the night air as she stood there.

She wouldn't remain still then either, staring out over the Caridian sky and wanting to get back to fighting, wanting to be on some battlefield but just standing there as her hands twisted and rolled in her own hands. The thought left her sighing again, something she did alot recently and with a turn the force opened the way for her to the room she wished to be in.

There, Noah was working and she stepped into the room a bit silently, smiling as he sighed too and leaned back in his chair. Her head came past his side and looked down at the desk, raising a brow and speaking as she did her little trick of appearing out of no where. "Huh, new blueprints? Never a dull moment ehh?"

To say Noah wasn't surprised anymore when his wife showed up out of nowhere would be a understatement. After five years of marriage he had become use to it, well however use to it one could become when their spouse showed up out of virtually nowhere. Leaning over Noah planted a loving kiss on his wife's cheek before replying. "Yeah, a few companies are throwing their hat in the ring for a few new weapons and armor contracts for the Army and Marines. A buddy at Logistics Command wanted me to take a look and give him my opinion." Noah put down the datapad he was holding and picked up another.

"This is a covert threat assessment that the SIS and AIS compiled on the CIS. Thought you'd want to look at it after what happened on Eshan." Handing over the datapad Noah made sure to grip Alex's comfortingly to assure her he was there for her since he knew what is was like to have home invaded. Standing up Noah popped the joints in his shoulders and back as he navigated his way through the study and took a seat a nearby couch and motioned for Alex to join him. "I take it since your in here bothering me that the twins are still sleeping?" Noah asked with a grin splitting his face at just the mention at his children, even after three years the mere mention of his children made him happy.

Alexandra looked over the expo diagrams and carefully studied hat she could about the systems. She as not as good as the others she knew in regards to weapon systems, far preferring such creations as droids and ships, working on their systems over something like a rifle.

Her hands moved to grab at what looked like an armor design for the troops under Noah’s command, curious as to the decision on whether mobility or protection should be in the front of the mind for the soldiers. Alexandra herself rarely ore armor but that was because she knew that the danger was something she could overcome with her training.

“Interesting ideas...” She started, trying to think over what she read.

“Also yes, the twins are fast asleep. It took forever to quiet them down, but thankfully it isn’t as bad as it used to be.” Her body twisted a bit to free up the muscles in her back, stopping as she saw the data pad being handed to her.

“Intel on the CIS? I don’t remember seeing this cross the desk of Naval Intel, are you holding out on us Noah? Even as we have a fleet admiral who served them at one point. You know he would have talked for hours if given the chance... that man is annoying like that at times.”

Smiling Noah wrapped his arms around his wife's waist as she laid with him on the couch. He chuckled when Alex brought up how interesting the ideas were. "Of course they are interesting ner riduur. This is me we are talking about here." Noah took up the schematics and began to do some slight work and modifications on them as Alex spoke once again.

"By Manda! Remember when they were born? I don't think I've ever gone that long without sleeping. It's like they conspired to have to completely different sleep schedules." Even though he gripped about it Noah smiled as he remembered the fond times of the last few years when the twins were just small babes. There were of course some memories that stuck out.

He remembered Alex informing her of when she was pregnant. He remembered the first ultrasound. He remembered when they had been having a comfortable night in their apartment and Alex suddenly proclaimed that her water had broke. He remembered the speeder ride to the hospital that seemed to take forever. He remembered the hours of labor she went through where she had nearly broke his hand twice. He remembered finally holding his son and daughter. He remembered how weak Alex was afterwards. He remembered all of it because he had missed this with his first child and was gonna be damned if he did again.

When Alex spoke about the intel Noah chuckled and rolled his eyes. "You out of anybody should know how it goes when it comes to the Army and the Navy sharing intel cyar'ika. It's like getting blood from a stone." Noah groaned when Admiral Charr was brought up. "Don't remind me. We had a meeting together with the Joint Chiefs and the Admiral went on and on and on."

Alexandra drew her hand back and rubbed her eyes as he brought up the nights that had robbed her of a great many hours of sleep. Those were some rough nights and Alexandra still was trying to catch up with the sleep depravity, her mind wandering as she looked over the papers and reading. Nothing popped out too her as they sat there but Noah’s words caused her to smile.

“You have only had to listen to him for a few years, I’ve had to do it for several decades due to how much I’ve had to heal him. But I can without a doubt agree the man talks for far too long. Sometimes, i am pretty certain he does it just to confuse people.” She leaned her head back against Noah and yawned as she looked up at the ceiling.

The silence with them sitting there started again and she enjoyed every second, knowing that time would claim their focus in the future once more. It was something she did not get to have in so many years, and something that was robbed from her multiple times throughout her life. This moment was one of the most important things that has ever happened for her.

For once she didn’t even itch to run headlong into a fight, that thrill pop battle quieted and shoved to the back of her mind. Everything was slow and she was thankful for the slowness for once.

“So, what plans do you have general.”
