Discussion Do Things Seem a Little Stale?

Things are only stale if you fixate on them being stale. Go do something about it if you feel that way. Be active on the board and make things exciting. This is no different than sitting in discord channels complaining about stuff.

I know I have plans to do stuff, to inject something different and potentially fun, just taking my time to do it. And having fun approaching things that way.

All well and good complaining in private or complaining about things in a suggestion thread. But you aren't creating change or preventing that feeling of staleness. All you are doing is adding negativity and bringing the mood down for writers who are working hard to add new and fun stories.

The sheer number of complaints, which were received by the staff teams of the Sith Order and Imperial Confederation, would suggest that the Invasion wasn't an enjoyable experience for everyone overall. It was certainly the contributing factor as for why TIC's activity plummeted and their Major status revoked.

Since then the website has felt stale for me, personally, because there hasn't been an Imperial faction to fill that space since TIC closed earlier this year.

As a result the GE died themselves three months later.

But this still sits in the shoulders of the writers. There was a new MFO in place. But the faction at the end decided to go minor if I remember correctly.

According to wanting to finish a storyline they accomplished that. While the ooc fall out and drama sucked, they did what they intended to do. Did they not?

While I ask a question this is not the place to discuss this. I see your point, but I don’t agree with it.

The point I see is, they went major and shook up the board isn’t that what has been suggested?

Reading the other posts in this thread I have read generalisations and ideas for why the website feels stale. I am pointing out specific things which have contributed for this staleness. I do agree with the OP, and the others in this thread, that Chaos does feel stale, certainly, when it comes to Major factions.

This will be my last post because, for reasons I don't fully understand, I appear to be stepping on toes? Either way I'll clarify. The people who wrote in the GE are no longer writing on this board due to the faction closing and the faction closed, in my opinion, because of that drama in the Summer and earlier Autumn of 2025. This has certainly contributed to why the website feels stales almost one year later in 2026, particularly, when it comes to me as I was involved in the DE and GE projects with the GA.

I also think a similar thing happened with the Imperial Confederation earlier this year. This has left the people who were in TIC in a position where threads feel slow to come by and so it has felt stale.

OOC drama and disagreements will always be a thing in roleplay. No getting around it. These types of things have contributed to the staleness on the website. There are other examples, which happened recently, concerning Majors that are still live on the website, but I dare not make the case as to why they have contributed to the staleness also because I would be breaking site rules concerning respect of other writers.

Using past examples, of Majors that have closed, and why their writers are no longer on the website, or are inactive, I feel is a kinder way of saying that the website feels stale because OOC drama have killed the vibes. I don't feel like we have learned lessons from what happened to the GA last year and I don't know how we stop such things from making things stale.

I have never seen people opposing change, as long as you approach in a friendly and open minded view, they tend to be excited to see what you have to offer and do.

”I want to complain but do nothing other than blame other people and factors for what I am most likely contributing to.”

Discussions are great… but it might be time to fish or cut bait. Come up with something original. Make a faction but follow through. Some of the voices in here complaining the most don’t even follow through on a single idea before abandoning it for whatever reason.

If things look and feel stale… maybe look in the mirror first. You might need to deal with the plank in your own eye so can see clearly to deal with the speck in someone else’s eye.

I hate this recent idea that Majors should just be willy-nilly things. They're governments and armies, Empires, federations etc that control PLANETS in Star Wars. They're HUGE, they're MASSIVE, they have influence and power, they should not be treated as some flash-in-the-pan thing that six people can start up. I think Major Factions SHOULD be treated with reverence. Furthermore "just declare an invasion" sounds SILLY when you think about the reason why. I like to write PvP, I like to fight, I'm a meathead who loves the tussle, does that mean good writing is just fighting? Does that mean an engaging, worthwhile story is gonna be found because "muh guy swings at ur guy"? No.

Conflict breeds roleplay, it does not just need the fight. People's characters go through things, challenge things, meet people, discover things, train etc. It's not just the fight that we want, it's everything with it.

So, declare the invasion anyway? You can't opt out as a major. Peace only exists as long as the other majors say it does.

You asked the hypothetical question first. You have no clue whether or not creating a faction and reaching out to the other Major Factions for invasions and skirmishes would be well received or not.
