Disturbances in the Force?

Palpatine, in his new role as Galactic Emperor and speaking via hologram with Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader, as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, described Luke Skywalker's potential emergence as a Jedi as a "great disturbance in the Force."

Both Supreme Leader Snoke and Kylo Ren felt the emergence of Rey's latent Force power as an "awakening" in the Force.

While death caused the greatest ripples in the Force, many other developments in the Force caused disturbances such as alignment shifts. One such disturbance was sensed by Master Luke Skywalker when he no longer felt the dark side aura around the Massassi Temple.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Hoth, Palpatine sensed a disturbance in the Force from Luke Skywalker's Jedi potential, and demanded that Darth Vader, who had also felt it, make contact with him on the matter.

Ugh. Gross. With the shear number of Force Users we have on this website perhaps this thread was a terrible idea indeed. Especially if we were to extend our definition of disturbances to such things as: 'his potential changed'. Dubious and unreliable as such things are.

Yes. I'm certain now. With the CHAOS community firmly in mind, this idea would lead to far more clutter and confusion that it would ever be good for. As enlightening to ponder as this whole thread had been? I'm writing it off now as just another unicorn fantasy. Bleh. Sour.

Let's not waste any more time. I'm just gonna walk away from this now and I hope others do likewise. :(

So you're saying I should start the thread? :p

In terms of legends there is a fairly clear example that wouldn't be so much a disturbance as a significant change in the balance of th force. When Darth Bane implemented the rule of two by having the Brotherhood of Darkness detonate the Thought bomb it wiped out pretty much all Sith in the galaxy. Something like that would be felt in the light side gaining more strength as the dark side is reduced. It might not be immediately obvious but it would be felt.
