Discovering Mandalorian Heritage

For anyone who's seen the re-write of Joshua's bio, you'll see an interesting new tidbit (That has totally not actually been a thing all along and I just forgot that I wrote his brother as Mandalorian and not Joshua himself) in his race. Of course, I've decided to do something with it, as the character has no clue of his heritage - I've been planning to do something with this for quite some time now and just kind of forgot until now - on his mother's side, and since he's not exactly on good terms with his brother, wouldn't be informed of it from someone within his own family.

Figured that I'd extend the invitation to any Mandalorians on-site who'd be interested in any sort of plot, have any ideas, etc of where to go with this. I'd originally wanted to contact a Mandalorian I knew about it, when I first started the idea, and plot from there - but I have no clue where he is so I'm just gonna open it up to any Mando interested. Figured it'd be an interesting plot, and a decent way to plot with some new people at the same time.

Alright two things to say and here is the first: Well I would be up for doing something with you on Gray. He knew he had Mandalorian blood from his father, but he didn't really embrace it until a short time after I made him. So he knows whats its like to first learn about the Mandalorian heritage you have........Course Gray had always kind of been raised as one but never realized it till much later.

Second is a shameless recruitment: You are welcome to join my faction I just made called Raxian Empire. It is newly formed but it is about the Mandalorian culture but will not be near Mandalore. It could be a good place for him to learn about it as others will be in the same boat.

[member="Gray Raxis"] I'm probably not gonna be joining anymore factions for a little while. But I'd love to have some help from Gray IC in learning about him being a Mandalorian, and being able to embrace that and plotting from there. I'm not really educated on Mandalorian culture besides the bits that are generally common sense, nor what his heritage means for him in the grand scheme of things.

All I really know is that both Joshua and Nicholas DragonsFlame were born from a Mandalorian mother, and while I'd been running Nick as a Mandalorian-Human since I started playing him, I forgot to have it reflect back on Josh (And decided to run with it when I remembered). Everything from there is kind of a work in progress.

Well what it means to be a Mandalorian is up to which group you honestly decided to pick up. There is currently 3 Mandalorian groups out there, Mandalorian Empire, United Clans of Mandalore (Mandalorians), and now my Raxian Empire. Of these three groups, 2 are currently major and I am hoping to push mine from minor to major. Each has a different view on Mando culture and draws from a different source.

The ME is going off of the crusaders which are basically raiders who seek war.

Then there is the UCM which is currently a council of clans that decides the direction of the faction and they more or less have been preserving what they have now. The UCM though is having some changes though right now, so its subject to being different pretty quick to what I just stated.

Then you have my Raxian Empire which is about the values of Family, Honor, Clan. We look to provide and protect our kith and kin. It is basically about the tenants of the Resol'nare and aiding each other with our goals and ambitions.

So that is more or less what you are dealing with and from there the IC perceptions of Mandalorians will be shaped.

I'm currently involved in a Major Faction, even if in a small role unless [member="Coci Heavenshield"] or [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] wishes to discuss something bigger and more involved, so I'd probably have to nab a minor if at all. The second and third sound interesting, even if I'm more interested in the plot side of things rather then the faction side, though if all three options either already are, or are planning to go major, I'm kind of stuck in that department.

The ME and UCM are both major already. My faction is the only minor one but as I said I want to push it major. You don't have to be involved in the factions if you don't want to be, just giving you an idea of the mentalities of those from the different ones. You will get a different answer of what it means to be Mandalorian based on who you talk to. So it is mostly a judgement call from there on what kind you would rather be involved with. Course you could wing it too.

[member="Gray Raxis"] Ah, I getcha. I'll probably avoid the faction side of it mainly since it seems that I can't join one anyway without leaving my present faction. Thanks for the descriptions of what each one does, anyway.

I'm mainly just looking for people to plot with on the matter though. Y'know, finding out he's Mandalorian, getting to know some of his people, and winging it from there.

Well you are welcome to pop into my faction's stuff to help out people and interact with others. Don't need to join, can just be an ally and clan friend. Course you are also welcome to just RP with me without being involved in my faction. ^.^ I am pretty open on that side of things. If you got an idea of how you want to go about learning let me know and we can work things out from there.
