Suggestion Diplomacy but War

Simple idea -

We either open up 'diplomacy' requirements, or otherwise create a new type of faction thread that allow for MF's to 'invade' one another with a set outcome in place. For example, if two factions want to do war without the weight and consequences of invasions, they can do a diplomacy/'border battle' to trade a system with a war storyline - like a skirmish, but with a simple transition of a hex. Like Junctions, could give people more chances to do war without actually having to do invasions.

Yeah, so long as we have 5 people show up on both sides, declare a timeframe for it, with the community impression of it, etc. Invasions cause drama, giving more flexibility to how factions do war in avenues other than invasions could help alleviate that, I imagine.

Guilty, you got me. Nothing I’m seeing so far gets solved by yet another ruleset.

Talk is cheap, trench warfare requires real leadership, real organization, real action. You don’t gain inches by waiting for some blue elf to give you his blessing.

You take them. You earn them. You fight for them. You don’t find them in OOC banter or rulesets. Like an old friend once said,

“Words, words, words.”

Except it isn't. Factions follow the paths staff create. Consider that factions rarely did 'diplomacy' styled threads beyond alliances until the thread was created - leading to chances for peace negotiations, deals regarding planets, etc. It opened up narrative ideas for major factions, simply by making it easier to do such.

That's all that this proposed. A slight change to the wording of Diplomacy threads to allow combat transitions, to give factions a chance to do war without invasions - something people have said are not something they want to involve themselves in on principle. Just like Junctions have given factions a chance to do war through another means, effectively expanding narrative options, so could this. Its a pretty simple concept to understand, has plenty of evidence with every other addition staff have done.
