Diamond in the Rough [ME vs TC]

Objective 1: Raid the Diamond Mines of Arkania
Allies: The Mandalorian Empire
Enemies: The Collective
The Gold Wolf peered through his visor down at the gem of a planet below, the thoughts of riches running through his mind as thoughts of what the diamonds held below would bring to the newfound empire. The old carriers that held the medium strike force, mainly populated by Tahn's own Death Watch forces, crept slowly towards the planet, their ruggedness hopefully averting suspicion from whatever government patrolled the body below them.

As Tahn looked around to the other men and women that had come along with him the eagerness in all of them was clear, the length of the travel they had flown left them with anticipation for the upcoming battle.

A dim yellow light lit up the cramped hangar of the vessel that Tahn was in, a sign for that the vessels were in place for Death Watch to begin their raid on the planet below. The raiding party was split up between the three large ships, basilisks and other vehicles that would assist in the raid had been hidden under old sheets and crates. The modified carrier's drop pods lit up with an inviting glow as everyone began to prepare themselves for a quick ignition of the battle, marching towards whatever transport they would be using to arrive at the diamond mines awaiting them.

The plan was for a quick smash and grab, take any diamonds in any condition and destroy whatever was left to limit the credit flow Arkania produced. They weren't here to conquer the planet, only to ravage it.

That was as Mand'alor deigned.

Tahn himself marched quickly towards one of the drop pods, the clean look of them contrasting the inconspicuous age of the vehicles they had been placed in. He ducked down as he was joined by some of his brothers and sisters, pulling a strap over his bodice as he took a seat and planted the axe in his hand in front of him.

All at once the sounds of steel and engines came to life, a loud roar of the Mandalorian ware machine could be heard as the warlike people dropped into orbit. The machines rocked and quivered as they fell through the atmosphere, ready to smash into the crust of the planet below.

It was time to show the galaxy that Mandalore had been cleansed and prove their newfound power.

OOC
Objective 1; Raid the Diamond Mines of Arkania and destroy any production materials as we escape.
Objective 2; Delay local forces as long as possible to stretch the amount of time collecting diamonds
Objective 3; Do your own objective. Battles can take place in space to defend the carriers or securing an escape or you can raid [member="Vilaz Munin"]'s Corporation, do you.

Jor Kvall

Ain't found a way to kill me yet
There were no enemies today, only victims.

The deeds of the Mandalorians today spoke to a more base desire for rapine and carnage, which the rest of the galaxy would no doubt deem utterly savage. But although the goal was treasure, Jor Kvall cared little for it. Arkania was another testing ground for him; he desired battle and nothing more. The first man he met in battle was during the Civil War, and by all accounts he should not have survived that battle. His bones were still healing from it. Questioning why he survived seemed to be consuming Jor's mind. It gave him a strange impetus to seek out further danger, to test the limits of his fate.

After fastening his helmet on his head, Jor loaded up his slugthrower. They said there were many diamonds on Arkania, and if the Arkanians were worthy of possessing them, they ought to have set up sufficient defenses. Jor would like to test that.

The rasp of whetstone past the edge rumbled in the corner of one of the hangars of the carriers.

"We are here, Cabur." A Vizsla warrior announced to the man sitting there and sharpening the edge of his beskad. "Drop procedures are a-go."

Ronan looked up.

The warrior already had his helmet on, but Vizsla knew him. Tomas. A young one. Fierce and protective. True Ra loyalist too, he would not have been happy if Ronan had gone the other way when Mand'alor the Undying triumphed over Monroe. "Alright, let's get this over with." Tomas tilted his head a fraction, there was clear confusion there to be found. "You aren't looking forward to fighting, finding glory on the field? The worth of the diamonds, Cabur?"

He rose and snorted, sheathing the blade for now and stepping up next to the young buck. They walked together and Ronan shook his head.

"No glory in a fight, Tom. Just blood, salt, piss and grown men crying when their end comes."

Ronan accepted a helmet, locked it into place after his chest-piece and then engaged the crushgaunts. A reflexive grasp in the air that made the electronics whirrr for a second. "Clan Vizsla will earn a fortune with these diamonds!"

Now it was Ronan's turn to tilt his head as the helmet fired up. HUD came into place, air-seal locked, the rebreather systems filtered the oxygen in and out. The Firrerreo didn't enjoy it- he preferred to fight without armor, to feel the weight of his beskad without enhancement of strength. To feel the air on his skin, the sweat from his brow, the blood splattered across his arms as the beskad went up and down. There was something visceral about that type of danger.

Something real.

But Ronan was a pragmatist. Wading into battle without armor, when the terrain was unknown and the enemies were all around you? That just begged for a quick death.

"What are we? Whining jetti? Scheming dar'jetti? We are Mando'ad. We have no use for diamonds, riches- don't be blinded, ad'ika. We are here because Mand'alor commands it and for no other reason." More words than Ronan usually spoke before a battle. But those around him had listened anyway, not just Tomas, but all people. They roared as one oya and then rumbled into the drop pods. One by one launching themselves towards the surface.

To fight.

To kill.

For Mand'alor.

The Undying steps foot on Arkania, slamming his spear in the dirt.
"No prisoners.
Obliterate all resistance."
He had come here for a specific reason, and it wasn't wealth...
Procured LAAT/i's began circling around the mines as Mandalorian soldiers descended from grappling lines onto the soil below, as more ignited their jetpacks and stormed out into the air. They had arrived in full force. There would be no tears shed for fallen Jeedai, fallen civilians this day. Their metric of success was clearly defined by the simplest of terms:

Take what is ours, and return it to Mandalore.

No Councils to stop him.

No Clan Raxis to plead for peace or pacifism.

This planet had something that Mand'alor needed, and it would be taken. By force, if necessary. The people of Mandalore would be restored to their righteous glory, and if they tried once again to rescind into apathy, laziness, or degradation - Ra would rip them screaming and kicking back into the fight. Mandalore had no place for the weak-willed. No place for the pacifists.

They had a mandate. Restore us to Glory.

In Ra's eyes, it was a simple thing to demand.

His mount shifted beneath him, servos whining and synthetic muscles flexing in anticipation of the battle to come. Tal sat atop his basalisk, his visage and motions eerily calm in the face of the oncoming carnage. He looked to Mand'alor on his right as orders were given, nodded in confirmation, and pulled his helm down over his eyes. With shield at his back, hammer to his left, and pistol gripped tight on his right, he barked a command and the war droid surged forward toward the mines.

Not a single action betrayed the battle that raged within.

He knew he was not the same being that had joined Ra's first crusade, but he did not yet know what he truly was now. The carnage of the civil war still ate at him, despite the belief that he had been on the side in the right.

Fortunately, he could put that behind him for now, and focus on the killing that needed done here. Killing that did not force him to destroy his own brothers.

Attn: all agents-

Various unidentified drop pods have landed on the surface of Arkania near a valuable diamond mine. Hostile forces are anticipated but unconfirmed, as is the strength of said forces.

Any agents who are able, report to the attached coordinates to investigate and, if necessary, defend. Your successes will be, as always, rewarded.

"...no, are you kidding? Nobody would attack this place." She paused, and delivered her punchline. "Wouldn't be worth it. Too cold."

Whatever humour she used over the surface, Yvonne Evoros was very careful to understand risks and she'd considered every possibility of risk that there was to this arrival, regarded it with the same carefulness she'd regard any mission with. Her tendency for humour in the face of a threat was never her way to take things less seriously (although it was easy to use that impression to her advantage) - it was simply how Evoros was.

And she'd arrived on Arkania with possibly the only person she'd met lately that she suspected might realise it. Evoros had acquired the ability to understand people because it was necessary in order to predict their actions, but Kellarov she understood simply because. Often, she was certain
(afraid)
that the brunette understood her too.

The transport slowed as it neared their destination, and through her visor Evoros warily observed the mines. Observed gunships and armored soldiers. Observed an attack.

"Then again, maybe some folk don't mind the weather."

Serious ochre eyes danced between her companion and other arrivals. The Collective were a subdued force, but they were a powerful one. And the shadows were an excellent place to strike.

"You ready?"

The for a fight at the end went unspoken.

The Valkyrie's docking bay supports extended, revealing a bay of speeder bikes. The Matador had received the boards transmission, unknown enemies had arrived at the Arkanian Mines. He was unaware of why anybody would attack the mines themselves, perhaps the diamonds within held some value on the black market. He didn't know, nor did he care his employers reasons for protecting them. He had a job to do, and more credits lead him closer to the Keeper's goal.

The speeder's engine hummed with a waking heat as the air around him began to sizzle, the speeder jolted reluctantly forward as it carried his mass across the Durasteel plating of the landing pad. The engine whistled in its electronic tone as the Speeder picked up off the ground, blasting forward with great speed. The Matador felt the steady shake of his crimson Beskar against his body, Oribuir resting it's grand blade safely magnetised against the length of his shoulders.

He was drawing close to the drop site that had been placed with a lavender marker on his HUD. Ahead of him he saw gunships circling the mine as soldiers were dispersed from drop-pods. He recognised their armour, he recognised much about them. They were Mandalorians. He too once might've once identified as one of them, but he had tried to bring them together under his Keeper's vision.

He had found spite, bitterness, division and weakness. His strength and loyalty did not extend beyond the Tol Varen. Not to the scattered Dravalan or Mandalorians. He owed no allegiance beyond those of greater understanding. He saw a ridge ahead, leading to a drop several feet towards what made up an small entrance to the Mines. Drop-ships dotted the area ahead, before that was a small hump of snow. He turned his speeder, slowing it down as an LAAT came closer. He retreated for a moment, powering up his speeder as he brought it closer to the hump at great speed. He pulled up, as it reached the hump; activating the vehicles overdrive to full throttle.

The speeder launched into the air, aiming for the open section of the LAAT. As he drew closer, the Matador leapt from his speeder; the momentum carrying him into the LAAT, amongst several Mandalorian warriors. There were four in total, the first being carried out on the edge of the speeder bike with a wailing cry. The Matador used his palms to steady himself as he rolled into a standing positing, the momentum of his movement swung the massive Oribuir on his back, knocking down one of the three remaining on board. The first Mandalorian within's arms reach drew his blade, thrusting it towards the space between breastplate and his helm. The Matador's arm shot up, his wrist stopping the momentum of the attack with ease. His arm extended up the length of the Mandalorians body, his hand forming a fist as the momentum of a sudden strike towards the Mandalorians head carried his entire body downward, his head cracking against the shuttles floor. The second Mandalorian fired his blaster, the Matador's battle precognition caused his head to duck instinctively, his hand grasping the fallen Mandalorians blade. The Matador tensed his right leg, using it to push himself forward towards the Mandalorian his free hand absorbing the second bolt of blaster fire.

The blade moved too quickly for the Mandalorian to react, his head disconnecting from his body. The Matador immediately turned as the third Mandalorian rose to his feet. The Matador placed a hand on his shoulder, crushing bone and twisting the edges of his chest and shoulder plates as he squeezed the space between. The Mandalorian gargled, half gasping and in shock as he fell to his knees, his arms twitching. The Matador slammed his knee into the Mandalorians head, denting the door to the LAAT's cockpit.

The Matador made haste for the foremost exit of the vehicle that lead to the Mandalorians who were moving towards the entrance of the mines. Oribuir's handle came homely into his dominant hand as his last foot left the LAAT, Oribuir ignited; slashing through the wing of the LAAT, causing it to spin and connect with a second Gunship as he fell, landing with both feet on a drop pod. The pod moved, kicking up dirt as he used it to propel himself forward. Oribuir's massive size catching several Mandalorians as he landed, the Matador grinded to a halt, erecting a force barrier ahead of him as he accessed how to proceed.

The day had finally come for Kervo to shed the blood of enemies foreign to the Mandalorian Empire instead of domestic. Although Kervo showed no mercy to any who'd oppose him, he was especially bloodthirsty for this mission. Enemies of the empire were seen as even lesser creatures than the traitors who sided with Mia Monroe. Enemies of the Empire who are fully capable of siding with the Mandalorians, but instead decided to form their own government, one who's ideals greatly conflict with the Mandalorians, meant that Kervo had to get dirty. And he loved to get dirty.

The Blood Rider was without his speeder for this mission, a sight rarely seen, but he felt like it wouldn't be needed. He stepped into the drop pod, squeezing his muscular frame into the enclosed space. His new armor was fresh and without any blood or dirt stained into the cloth. But, today, he'd rectify that. A harsh whine of steel signaled the release of the drop pod, sending Kervo through the atmosphere of Arkania and towards the ground with his comrades. As the pod ripped through the skies, Kervo took a moment to speak his family's words. "Live free and fight hard." Words each Namadi had implanted into the psyche from birth. That phrase is what has kept the Namadis strong for many generations and shall continue to do so for many more.

The pod crashed into the planet's crust, wedging itself into the hard dirt. Kervo unstrapped himself and pushed the capsule open, revealing himself. He stepped out and took his blaster rifle in hand. Once ready, Kervo moved to group up with several other Mandos and began moving towards the mines.

Gauntlet

Man in the Mirror
Enter the Gauntlet

From the sky above anyone could see the hundreds of pits scattered across the ice plains. Diamond mines exploited by the wealthy local companies, used in various technological applications, jewelry, and shipped off world to facilitate interplanetary trade.

No secret there. Now, stealing those diamonds? A different challenge.

Gauntlet hated the cold, but in the cold he was paid handsomely. Adacorp--one of Arkania's most prominent corporations--hired the old scarecrow to protect their crops.

At the entrance of one of the targeted mines he stood guard, with his disruptor rifle slung around his back. A pair of pistols could also be found holstered on either side of his waist.

Grey eyes stared off into the wastes, looking up at the sky.

The speed at which the basilisk droids fell sent a terrifying shriek as they cut through the atmosphere. Deafening many for a few seconds followed by a hard case of tinnitus that wouldn't be going away any time soon. Gauntlet grimaced at the horrible sound, and jumped off the rafters into the icly gullet below. An out stretched hand ground against the crust of the cavern, slowing his fall enough for a steady roll.

He looked back up with a second glimpse of the approaching raiders, before withdrawing deeper into the mine.

She chuckled quietly, shaking her head at Evoros.

"I'm just saying, folks will move heaven and hell for some diamonds. Freezing their arses off be damned."

Mara had seen it too many times over the years. Something shiny and valuable was discovered, and those in charge proceeding to throw men and women at it to acquire it. Nor did it even have to be something concrete, even with a minimal amount of information the same thing would happen.

There were always different reasons, most veiled under one excuse or another to hide the usual truth beneath. The fact the attackers were landing near the diamond mines, made it all too clear what their intentions were.

Profit, destabilization and destruction.

Mara finished the last of her weapon checks, before she reached over and grabbed her helmet. She slid it over her head until there was a soft hiss indicating it was sealed in place. With her face concealed, she looked over at Evoros with her expression hidden. The two of them had spent a considerable amount of time together, fighting and otherwise. Both were taught how to read other people to gleam information without raising a finger.

Before it had been impossible to read the Agent, but over time it became more easier to see through her . And she knew well enough that it wasn't something Evoros was comfortable about.

"I'm ready." Mara stood up, attaching her sniper rifle to her back and joined her fellow Agent. "Do we have any further information on who is attacking Arkania?"

Tal watched as a man vaulted off his speeder and into one of the LAAT gunships.

Watched as he leapt from the gunship moments later and onto a drop pod.

Watched when he hit the ground and dispatched a squad of the advance forces.

He had already commanded his mount to veer toward the man, and was crashing down in the snow even as he raised his barrier. Holstering his pistol, he regarded the energy field and the man within for a moment before moving toward it. Whatever energy composed it, his armor failed to detect, which left a singular most likely option. Reaching out his free hand, he placed it against the field before him. Or tried to, at least. In the immediate vicinity of his outstretched palm the barrier simply vanished, and his suspicions were confirmed. The Force.

Dropping his hammer in the snow beside him, Tal rolled his shoulders and stepped through the field to engage his foe.

The Matadors barrier reflected blaster fire in all directions, his blade crushing Mandalorians through the sheer momentum of the blade, snapping bone and crushing flesh into wet paste. Ahead of him, a broad and tall Mandalorian walked forward, extending his hand to the absent barrier that had been erected, he watched with great surprise as the man passed through his force barrier, however it was not unlike the warriors who had wore void stone that he had faced before. Perhaps the warrior had similar traits, however he was but one of many. The Matador would dispatch the Mandalorian as quickly as he could, he doubted it would take long as he had dropped his weapon. Though whether he carried it or not would make little difference. The Matador brought Oribuir close, allowing the force barrier to dissipate ahead of them. His enemy had his focus, he anticipated his opponent to perhaps use a hidden weapon. This fight would require tactical movement, rather than the full use of his blade's size. He brought his right hand to the mid-length of the blade.

He struck the blade forward, a total of four feet ahead of his hand. He held his ground, his feet spaced out with his legs buckled against the ground. He aimed with a fast and lethal strike at the Mandalorians abdomen. He didn't expect the blow to land, however awaited his current opponents attack.

The descend was turbulent and violent.

As expected.

Five.

Armored fingers curled tight around the beskar railing and it was only that material that stopped his clench from ripping through.

Synthetic voice hummed in his audio feed, numbers numbering down one after another as they approached the ground. Soon. Four. The crash would be madness, but hopefully the systems in the pod would counter some of it. Whiplash wasn't a fun thing to fight with in enemy territory and unknown terrain. Three. A quick prayer to Manda and his eyes closed, settling himself down tight against the crash-web.

Two.

"Never get used to this." Ronan rumbled and the chuckle of the Vizsla warriors on the other end welcomed him. "Laugh it up, I hear at least three voices that haven't had impact experience yet."

That got them.

One.

Impact.

The boom as the drop pod crashed into the terrain could be heard from miles. It was maybe two clicks away from the mine Evoros and Mara had just arrived at, maybe about ten minutes walking, five if they ran briskly. Just on the other side of a hill. Snow everywhere, except where the gleaming metal of the pod cut through the terrain and left frozen brown behind it in a trail.

The door hissed open and out came Ronan Vizsla. Other pods dropped in too nearby. Some doors hissed open, others... stayed closed... not everyone would have survived.

Just the way of things.

Whisper

Lean, Mean, Slicin' Machine
"Mooooom, I'm fineI"
Kitten Roice rolled her eyes at her mother on the other end of the holocommunicator. The teenager was on Arkania, visiting the mines. She was promised a reward for her help in the Collective, and her mom's birthday was coming up, soon. Why not get her a diamond-something? But particular as always, she required to personally see which one was the best one. So there she was.

"If you're sure, Kitty. Be sure to let me know when to pick you up!"
She hung up the call, and sighed, running a hand through her dark hair. Her hood was down, revealing her hair for once. It wasn't often she went without the hood. But, it wasn't often she was Kitten and not Whisper. Her alter ego had a signature, and part of it was the hood. She was at the entrance to a mine, about to head in. That was when she heard it.

Drop-pods, coming in from the sky. Her blue eyes grew wide as she stared at them come down, feeling the hair on the back of her neck stand up. They were under attack. Oh. Chit. Wordlessly, she pulled the hood of her jacket over her head, and Kitten Roice became Whisper, one of the greatest slicers in the galaxy, the terror of the Holonet, and agent of the Collective. The wind whistled, ruffling her clothes. Her time was now.

And the first thing she did was spring into the mine, away from the fighting, chanting 'nope'. There was no way in hell she was going toe-to-toe with whatever was in those pods. She would be dead in about five seconds. No, she wasn't a fighter, and she'd leave the fighting to those whose job it was to fight.

Instead, she'd use what skills she had. She found her way to the communications hub of the mine after a few minutes, and tore the panel off the side of the console, doing some re-wiring. She was making a home-made comms jammer. She'd need time, so she sure as hell hoped her fellow agents could keep the attackers off her ass.

Taking stock of the man as he dispatched the last of the other mandalorians within the barrier, Tal took his time closing the distance. He was obviously strong in the force, being capable of maintaining the barrier even while engaged in strenuous activity. It was impressive. A feat not even many masters could achieve.

Then there was the armor. The design was strange, but he recognized the luster of Mandalorian Iron easily enough. Perhaps a clan long lost to the stars, now too far gone to return. That, or he feared being cured of his affliction and Ra's recent declarations simply scared him away. Regardless, Tal had to deal with him now and he didn't expect it would require much. The man didn't seem to think tactically, wasting precious energy and focus on maintaining a barrier that only served to make him a bigger target. Every second he did so was a second longer the scales tipped in the Umbaran's favor.

The blade lashed out, a strike aimed for his mid-section, and Tal's right hand came out to meet it. He would try and catch it in an iron grip, his crushgaunt ensuring the other man couldn't simply pull it free, then shift it to the side. His left hand would shoot out in a simultaneous motion as he stepped forward, reaching to clamp his fist over the right wrist of his opponent. If he was successful, all it would take was a simple squeeze to mangle the hand beyond use, whether it was clad in a crushgaunt or not.

She glanced at Mara-

BOOM

And raised her eyebrows as she looked back.

"I'm guessing somebody who likes making an entrance."

In her mind she made more refined calculations, more specific guesses, but there was no use right now in sharing them. Of course they'd have to gather intelligence on their attackers, provide the Board with whatever they asked for, and so on and so forth. She was used to the various aspects of dealing with an attack by now, naturally. When that part came, it would be second nature. But this threat was too immediate to worry about much besides eliminating it, so she kept quiet. Evoros was a woman of few words.

(Well, not always. Being dead set in your ways was what got you killed. Evoros was simply who she had to be.)

"Let's head that way," she decided, tilting her head towards the crash with an air of well, obviously. "Can't be far. Didn't sound it." Her last words were dulled by the sound of more drop pods landing, closer and closer. With a sigh, she took her own rifle and adjusted her heads-up display. "But naturally, take out whoever else gets in the way."

The walk took a few minutes and a lot of people getting in their way.

It came, with a dark, foreboding wave across the force. The moment he stepped foot on the planet, the very planet began to resent him. Everything connected to the force was wary of him, was worried of his darkness, of his anger, his rage. He was a wound in the force, an unrelenting force of rage. And his rage was here, here in this petty squabble now.

He looked over at Ronan, a young man, a young, blighted man. A man younger than him, but more eager to spill blood than he. Preliat removed the rifle from from the inside of his pod, and checked his gear. That beskad. The tomahawk. Crushgaunts in working order. Armor repaired since the last bout with one Jasper Ordo. Everything Preliat needed to do what he did best.

Preliat Mantis was here. The Wolf of Manda'yaim had come in support of his people.

The landing pod clapped the surface of Arkania like rumbling thunder. Jor found the atmosphere of this planet much similar to the Cold Iron North of Mandalore, and Kalevala in his youth. He was a creature of cold, best suited to the ice. His helmet was strapped firmly to his head, preventing him from feeling the bite of the atmosphere against his skin, but between the slits of his visor, Jor found his target. The diamond mines were just ahead, subterranean halls waiting for plunder.

Jor wasted no time charging forth with his fellow Mandalorians, hoping to find a worthy opponent somewhere in the deep recesses of Arkania. He launched towards the nearest mine and cleared his path by priming one of his concussion grenades, tossing it down the mine in Gauntlet's direction before following himself.

The Matador refrained from extending his arm holding the base of his blade, his left hand firmly gripping the hilt of the weapon as his right shot out with the blade in hand. Mandalorians tended to face obstacles head on, and so he did. His opponent matched him in stature and attempted to grapple the weapon, he likely could due to the weapons strike carrying less momentum than a two handed grip; however the Matador did not give him the opportunity.

His right leg slid back as he tensed his right arm, the blade retracting from the reach of his opponent as his left hand shot out, his left leg moving forward as to stand almost within the same space of his opponent; using the momentum of him dashing forward against him. The hilt of Oribuir struck forward in his hand as his opponent moved forward, causing the impeding strike of hilt to face to move with much more momentum and speed granted by their joint movement towards each other.

If the strike was successful to incapacitate or stagger his opponent, the Matador would use his backward movement to swipe his left leg under his opponent and slice through his abdomen and end the fight quickly.

Ra's red visor shone through the bright sky of Arkania as he approached the first entrance to the Mines.

It had been sealed. Unknown if it was for defensive reasons, or if this particular mine was obsolete. Still, all of the information that the Undying had collected had led him here. He paid no mind to the onslaught of violence happening around him as he begin to dial in digits on his forearm's comm unit. A distance whirring let the Mand'alor know that his pet was enroute.

The Black Sky.

The largest Basilisk yet to be created, a massive monstrosity of Mandalorian ingenuity and prowess. This Ne'tar was a psychological manifestation of fear in his opponents, a symbol of the terror that the Mando'ade struck into the hearts of their enemies.

The obsidian hull of the created blasted into the landscape of Arkania, landing near Ra with a loud mechanical roar.

Turning his back to the Mine, Ra pointed and began walking behind his favored Basilisk.

"Blow it."
A large, consolidated red laser burst from the War Droid, tearing into the side of the valley and ripping through the entrance to the mines.
