Standing tall, his back straight and taught, clad in his Demon Armor, Penumbra awaited the people whom might just stop him from unleashing his full arsenal on the Fringe. Many could claim that they were dangerous, Zaiden truly was. At his call, he could have thousands of arms and droids arrive - or simply use the REX droids that patrolled many Fringe planets. Or Reanimated Undead for that matter.

In a few minutes, he could have a ship filled with a dozen zombies headed for every planet under the Fringes protection. What would happen to them then? Battling their own planets and men, could they fend off further invasions by those not so distracted? Single handedly, Penumbra could bring the downfall of the fringe.

But there were still a few that he was forced to think about. Morna was a close friend, even if it was in the form of a friendly rivalry. Zaiden had always felt a similar connection with Jared Ovmar, the young man being an amazing warrior that he was able to watch raise from apprentice to master and lord of the fringe itself. Then there was Ashin...

Plenty of people could make the error that Zaiden was attracted to Ashin or something similar, but in the end that had nothing to do with it - as well as holding little validity. She had given him a purpose when he first began his journey to power. Then when he fell to darkness, she held the lamp that lit his return. How about when she didn't laugh at him during his "I am a god" days? Varanin could easily claim the right to his being alive in numerous ways.

Could he cause such destruction, and risk harming them? That was why he had called them all to the little office building on Annaj they currently resided in. He would converse with them all, and then make his decision.

If it went bad, and he chose to attack, nearby were three civilian ships. All three held 10 undead each. They would be the beginning of the war he would wrought.

Resending the same invitation, the three would receive:

(Each characters individual names),

This is Lord Penumbra, I request that you meet me at the coordinates provided. My recent betrayal needs to be addressed, and I feel that my closest allies among the people would be best to aid me on that end. You know I am all to capable of making life hard for the Fringe. But I'm not entirely sure if I want that.

If you cannot make it, I understand and I hold no grudge to any of you.

The meeting room was located in the top floor of the office building. A subtle tremor shook the building as the Peregrine, Ashin's personal ship and her home with Spencer, settled down on the rooftop landing pad. After a minute, Ashin walked in, tilted her head just so-

And the room went dark. Not pitch black -- the lights still work -- but all the windows now displayed featureless darkness, impenetrable. The Peregrine mounted a spherical-field hibridium cloaking device, double-blind, and the entire top of the tower was now cloaked.

Preventing any transmissions from getting in or out.

Ashin took a seat in the artificial night. "This," she said, deadpan, "is something of a mess, Zaiden. It didn't occur to you that the Rebel Alliance's efforts have slackened since their general's sister was elected to the High Council -- or that tearing up a ship that your boss called home for a substantial portion of her life was a bad idea? Not to mention that Rebel activity has also quieted down since Lord Ovmar took control of Santhe and thirty-three percent of Verkuyl -- shared holdings with Jorus Merrill? There are reasons for things, Zaiden, there are patterns.

"I don't have the authority to countermand the High Council. Not anymore. Stand down whatever you have in play. And Force help you if you've already moved against the worlds and people that you and I saved together."

Arching a brow at the darkness' appearance he smiled, "Gotta get one of those." Sitting opposite the woman he leaned forward, elbows on the table with his hands clasped, "You are not the only voice I wanted to hear, though you hold the greatest of my trust." Pausing for a moment he thought his next words over.

"I attacked a man that you yourself have attempted to have slain. I nearly succeeded also. Because of this, I am suddenly low enough that I am to be tossed away as such? I have been with the Fringe, by your side, since nearly it's creation date. I have led battles in the Fringes name, I karkin lost my family home because of the Fringe, and even then I did not turn ny back. But your people would have me turned in? Regardless of my opponent, I was given up defending the Fringe.

"For attempting to purge us of a great threat, I am now nothing? They would never attempt such a thing against yourself, but me? I'm expendable? How could you ask me to simply take this in stride? Ican, and have, suffered a lot and kept my silence. But this, this is to much. How can I trust the people anymore? What happens if we go to war again, and I slay an Emperor? Would you all then turn me in again? " having finished his words, he reclined and looked to his friend.

She was a solid thinker, planning things before they even came to fruition. But could she herself take such a betrayal? Could she expect him to? What more could she have to say?

One thing was clear, Zaiden had something big planned. And it was not easily going to go down. As I drove in my LA-1 Supra I contacted my Second in command to the FTI. "I don't give a good goddamn, I want troops to be ready for anything. Deploy all that you can, I have to leave at the moment, I'll tell you if something comes up." Being Frenemies with Zaiden brought new light to who he was and how he acted. And one thing was for damn sure, he was going to go out with a bang.

Pulling up to the building I could already see the last few top floors that were lightsout. I turned off the engine of my bike and vaulted my left leg over. I looked up to the building and with a gust of wind I was pushed up to the top floor with the help of air shaping. I hovered above the top of the building as I watched for any wrong signs. as was nothing happening at the moment, I landed on the roof and made my way in.

Taking off my mask and letting my hood down of my Sentinel robes, I turned a corner to head Zaiden talking to someone already. I slowly crept over to see Ashin sitting with Zaiden on the other side of the desk. it was apparent that we were more so here for "suicide watch" on Zaiden than a business project. I tapped on the door as I entered. Slowly I walked in to stand behind and to the left side of Ashin. "Don't fething do this Zaiden."

Ashin rested her elbows on the table. "Zaiden, they didn't act as I would have. But they acted as I used to, and to some extent I'm responsible for that. Do you remember when Darren Shaw came to me demanding a shot at Daxton Bane? Do you remember how I told him to keep the matter between him and Bane -- and then, when he didn't, I broke him? This situation has some parallels to that, with you as Daxton and Shaw as Monroe. Making it between her and you without involving the rest of the Fringe -- I believe that's what they intended.

"The crucial difference, of course, is that Shaw knew Daxton was one of mine. Monroe probably only suspected your location. Don't forget, you've opposed the Rebel Alliance and its allies more than once -- meaning your skillset is known. And I've recently been informed that Monroe has...resources she hasn't fully tapped.

"Zaiden, on behalf of the Council, let me even the playing field for you. Monroe has more knowledge than she knows how to handle. The memories, the powers, of the master who enabled you to learn photokinetic cloaking when nobody else in the Empire knew such a skill. Trapped within Monroe's head is all the knowledge of Velok. Rave Merrill, his former assistant, confirmed it to me, and it explains his immense former bounty on her.

"Look at this from another perspective, Zaiden. She hasn't drawn you out of hiding. She's drawn herself out of hiding. She is very, very important and has, up until now, been very, very secretive-"

Then @[member="Morna Imura"] came in. "Morna, have a seat. We're talking things out. There are opportunities here of which our friend wasn't aware -- of which I wasn't aware either, until recently."

Utilizing his abilities with the Force, Zaiden smiled as he sensed Morna's preparation. When the man arrived he acknowledged his friend with a smile, "Bring troops if you will. Guns if it pleases. Remember whom you speak to though Imura. I'm no imbecile you command. I survived the entire Sith Empire chasing me, and I certainly don't fear those you would call to aid.

"What resources would she have that are unknown then? That is the question. As well, what difference would this make for the Fringes acts? I am sure in my ability to best the woman, but that isn't my reasons for this meeting." Resting his hands under his chin with a soft clunk from the metals, "Morna has obviously made his vote. Seemingly my name sake, and health, means little to him." With that he held the man's gaze for a moment before turning back to Ashin once more.

"As I told the council, I will be ready when Mia shows herself - whatever information you can offer as a warning would be much appreciated. But as well, alongside that is still the matter at hand. Of the masters that hold rank in the Fringe, I am one that can bring serious devastations. I'm ready to unleash my demons on the Fringe, and thus far you have peaked my interest, but done nothing to abate the urge to destroy those who would have throw me to the dogs.

"I don't expect our Fire Shaper here to actually attempt to talk me down, else the back up wouldn't be necessary. But I hoped one of you would be able to talk me down. In my own ways, I do not wish to destroy everything I have helped build, while simultaneously wanting to eviscerate everyone connected to those on the council - Ovmar excluded - leaving the Fringe Space leaderless and memberless. I could easily turn our kingdom, into a confederation of lifeless planets.

"Reanimate an undead Rancor, drop it here and watch as the planet falls. Let an undead Krayt loose on another. An Arkanian Dragon in that one over there. You cannot tell me that, with no way to know my targets, accompanied by the threat of an undead horde, that you would still feel the Fringe the powerhouse it is. If I do as I feel necessary, it would leave everything in disarray. To say the least." Penumbra said from beneath his hood.

Deep inside of himself a battle waged, the winning side maintaining the urge to destroy. But the battle was there, and undeniable. The Darkside tugged at the very essence of Zaiden, while what little purity remained fought to be heard as well. The turmoil could easily be felt through the force, even if it wasnt screaming the warning to stop him.

"Say something Ashin. Anything." The lightside managed to breach the surface for a moment, his voice soft and wounded. There was only so much a person could take alone, and that was all Zaiden had ever known.

I shook my head he thought that I didn't care for him, in truth I did. I trusted him to an extent, but with the way that he has been acting, I wanted troops be deployed for the safety of the people that were under us. Zaiden could deal with this. I knew that he could. Sure his parents, and my parents were dead, but I doubted that he had to grow up with only a now dead bird as company.

I sat down as ashin asked, and as Zaiden spoke, I shook my head, "You assume too much. I wish that you and the Fringe survive, but I know that if these proceedings do not go well, then you will try some crazy bantha poodoo, I called troops to be ready everywhere, I didn't call them here for the reason you thought I would. I am here to help you. Not hinder you. Yes you ran from the Empire, but you chose to the the scapegoat for Ashin. You could have blamed it on something else. Don't act helpless. Because all of us in this room, know you are not. Calm down, As ashin said about the Shaw guy, He went against her word, and now you have as well. I want to hunt Daxton down as well, but I know that he is somewhere with other people to back him up. and so I don't look after him, fearing that the Fringe may be brought into the crossfire."

I picked out from my pocket a credit chip that of 10,000 in worth to me. I set it on the table and pointed to it. "This coin means alot of money in the Galaxy, but truly, I could throw it away now, because it means nothing to me. And frankly Zaiden, If you act against Mia with the help of the Fringe, I can promise you that you will be thrown out just like this damn coin." I then grabbed the coin, walked to the window, and opening it I let it drop from my and out the window to make my point.

Staring for a long moment filled with silence after the coin was tossed, at first it became annoying there was no response. Then his booming laughter began, "I CHOSE to be the scapegoat? No. That was on Voracitos, for which he still knows I'm not done with him. (Lol OOC comments back that up) I have NEVER been helpless.." Morna had chosen the wrong approach, "Helpless!? I have been stronger then my opposition for nigh every battle I have been in in years!! I could take the fringe and throw it to the ashes!!" He roared as he rose, the chair behind him falling back from such a thrust.

"Morna you simply dont understand the situation! I am ME. That is the problem! I'm told someone is an enemy, I obliterate them! I was told Jorus was a problem, and I made actions for him to be dealt with! Now a Master of such repute will ALWAYS remember me!!! I don't need a lecture telling me I mean less than a 10k chip!!" Reaching into his pocket, Zaiden drew forth 3 of the same and hurled them against the wall, "Money means NOTHING!!! AND I NEVER WENT AGAINST ASHIN!!" The mistaken mention, saying Zaiden had betrayed Ashin, that was his mistake. Ashin was his reason for breathing, besides his family. Everything she asked of him, he would do.

Slowly but surely the glow of his eyes began to darken beneath his hood, "Your lucky I have respect for you. Else I would have you eradicated for simply implying that I don't follow Ashin!...

Grinding his teeth hard enough to calm for a moment, he began in a softer voice, "I attacked Jorus, if not for his sister, I would have been welcomed in praise..." As he spoke, the glow continued to darken, "She's on my list as well. But for now, I begin with Mia. The cause for my predicament."

"Thank you Morna. You made my mind for me. The Fringe will fall, thanks to the actions of the Merrills."

(Lmao Morna not smart to say stuff like that to him. Don't worry though, I'll wait to start this ic beef. But be ready at the end of the event. Zaiden will likely start the attack alone, then bring in allies if he can find them. If no allies, expect another mini Zombie event lol)

Ashin stood and faced him across the conference room table.

"No. No, Zaiden, that's not how it's going to happen. You stood on the edge of a knife, and you make your own choices. You're responsible for those choices. You don't get to act against what I have built -- what we have built -- and walk away. When you set up those monsters, those forces, to hold them over the worlds I swore to defend -- worlds I gave my life to protect, once, and my honor, and my soul -- that was the moment you betrayed me, regardless of your differences with the Council. I could have fixed them, I could have fixed this situation entirely.

"You're the closest thing I ever had to family, Zaiden. You, more than any other Fringer. The brother or son I never had. But I won't let you murder any portion of the billions of people who count on me. Your plan has one weak link: You."

Her lightsabre ignited, a pure yellow-orange. A mental pressure descended on Zaiden, jamming telepathy.

"You can't send a Force-based message, and this field blocks all transmissions out. You wouldn't have walked in here with an 'If I don't report back soon,' and there are ways around that anyway. Morna, you may not want to be here for this. I know I don't."

Zaiden froze. A look of sheer stupidity crossed his face. She...viewed him as family....at first the Force could feel emanating in a purified way...

Before the good inside of him could make a change, the darkness took control. A snap-hiss was the warning of the enhanced Saber the woman herself gave to him, "Family...yet you choose stand against me rather than beside. Don't fret Ashin, I understand your actions even if I don't believe in them. I have always considered you family.

"I guess the day where familial bonds no longer protects you is inevitable." Penumbra said, listening to the hard hum of the Dragite enhanced saber, "Whom better to risk life to, than my best friend."

Holding his saber in the Ataru ready stance he nearly cringed. Though his body moved on it's own, speaking words driven by darkness, he felt horrible. He had never battled Ashin, not really. He never believed he could actually make a lethal strike towards her. But here was...

And then he wasn't. Vanishing from sight and sound, Penumbra leapt high over the woman to land behind her with the saber still held at the ready. Dropping his cloak, and looking at the woman he coukdnt even smile - the typical starter to his battles. How could he smile right now??

The instant he went invisible -- she knew his skillset almost as well as she knew her own -- she resorted to the only way to handle invisibility without cheating.

Area-of-effect.

A Force push ripped out from Ashin in all directions, high enough to shred the ceiling tiles and low enough to rip up the floor. The wide conference room table got upended and slammed against the window braces, flat side to the glass. Outside, the cloaking field still kept it perfectly dark. Ashin ceased the mental pressure -- the exigencies of fighting would prevent even a Master from sending telepathic messages in the appropriate level of detail. At least, the exigencies of fighting Ashin.

But Penumbra was already flipping above the blast, and when she sensed no impact she knew he was, for the moment, above her. The burnt-orange blade whirled above her head in case he struck at her as he flew, but no blade crashed against hers. If she hadn't just sent out a blast, she would have put him through the roof. As it was, the soonest she could make another strike happen was about the time he landed and she turned to face him. She lunged forward and left, her two-handed sabre slashing for his shins in a feint to draw his blade low. She withdrew the feint and slashed out for his neck-

But that too was a feint, because that was her usual killing blow, and he knew how she fought just as well as she knew how he fought. So feint for the shins, feint for the neck, and by then they were right side to right side. Her left hand came off the sabre and she Pushed, aiming to slam him against a large, round, waist-high holoprojector, the kind they used for displays.

As Zaiden said that he would take down the Fringe, I had already made up my mind, I was going to stop him. Even if it meant killing my friend. As Ashin let loose a Wave of power, I used my powers of TK to hold myself down, preventing myself from flying out of the window. My own saber then ignited. Its fiery orange lit up in the artificial night, and lava dripped from the blade because of the crystal that rested inside.

I then turned not hearing a thing following Ashin's movements to where Zaiden stood, only to suddenly see Ashin move very quickly in attacking the man. Even though the words of Ashin told me to leave, my gut screamed no.

As ashin was attacking Zaiden I reached behind me and replaced my mask onto my face, and my hood moved up of its own accord. My left hand ignited into flame and sent a stream of fire at the holoprojector behind them. Things with electrical components tend to explode when on fire, and with my Mastery of the art, Heat for me was not a problem to hand out like fething candy.

"Zaiden I swear I'm gonna kill you if you even try to destroy the Fringe." As much as Zaiden and Ashin worked together to create the fringe. I was also in the background, choosing to follow because I was not going to lead, and now that I had seen that Zaiden had taken this not too well, someone would have to replace him. Who it would be? I could not care, but as to who would end the power hunger, I knew that I was going to absolutely destroy him.

Blocking the heat was simple, but maintaining his defense against Ashin, this was the problem. The first attack was obviously a feint, next came at his neck. He was dumb enough to move for the block, being hit with the push launched him backwards. But countering with his own energies, he avoided the projector and landed on a sliding stand.

Ending with his back to the wall he grinned, now it was getting interesting. Even though he gave into the darkness and began to battle for his life, the Force continued to send the signal that he was not so sure of his fight. He knew he could survive against both, this was simple. He was a Stealther. But that didn't stop him from feeling the effects of the light. Zaiden didn't want to battle them. His heart wasn't in it, though everything else was.

Then things changed. The light vanished, and with it most of the memerable portions of his signature. In it's place, there was darkness. To counter such a mental tragedy, his mind created a dark persona of it's own. Just as the purity ceased, so to did his calm. Exploding outward in a Force Explosion of an unheard caliber for the man, he lost himself to the rage of battling his best friend.

Metal bent outward, walls crumbled, and the man continued. In the end, Zaiden stepped from a crater of a floor paneling, while looking to Ashin, his voice cold and utterly different, "Get ready. Now the fight for your life starts." Then he launched forward, his energies enfusing with the power of the Saber. If she connected, she would withstand a point blank Force Blast. He completely ignored the other man, viewing him as no longer a threat.

@[member="Ashin Varanin"] @[member="Morna Imura"]

For the man who called himself a god, he could fight to survive like one, but he would lose. Even with Ashin's Tank like nature, and my Shaping arts. we covered both fields. Tactfully we were ahead of the game. Zaiden had avoided the projector with his own powers in aid, and I could feel his nature drop in the force. The man had gone dark now. I smiled. If he thought that he was of the Dark side, then he had not experienced it quite like I had. being trained for a time under Daxton Bane, I had fought against a Sith Knight when I was just an apprentice. And I had fought Daxton once, almost besting him.

I felt like the past was coming back to me. Daxton had done the same thing to me, and I was not strong enough to block it, but now I was. as I could see him and his movements, I pushed down into the floor, and as if the metal around me was mine to control. It bent around me to create a shield enforced with a force barrier. As I came out from the force shield, I saw that Zaiden had gone after Ashin

@[member="Penumbra"]'s Force Repulse tore up the room. This was the meeting room on the top floor of a ten-story office building; its structural integrity was linked to the weight of the landing pad on the roof, and the supports were all that stood strong against his blast. Ashin anchored herself to one of the floor's crossbeams, the Force fortifying her body against the blast and shielding her somewhat.

The floor warped and distended, torn up in odd ways. Footing was treacherous. She had no time to adjust as Zaiden's Force presence became a black hole, an absolute darkness, as if he'd flipped a switch somehow. And then he leaped at her, focus written all over his stance. His sabre met hers, and the Force blast slammed into her point-blank. Still off guard from the shift in his Force signature, the blast caught her flat-footed. She hit the wall in a breakfall gleaned from years upon years of fundamental Jedi training, in days gone by, and honed since then. It still gave her pause, stunned her body for a long moment. She fell away from the wall, got her right foot under her, went down on one knee. Her left palm caught the rest of her momentum.

She rose in a blur, sabre sweeping up as a horizontal bar to ward away a potential strike. A long step straight in got her close, and she swung up and to the right, intending to catch and sweep his blade. A quick twist of lower hand against upper hand slashed the sabre down again, at his right arm just by the shoulder.

Morna defended himself, while the darkness inside of Zaiden roared to life. First and foremost came the attack that was aimed horiontally, shifting around the blow he moved swiftly. But was caught off guard. As his blade moved, he felt the familiar burn of a lightsabers plasma. Calling out with the force, from the rubble came Storm - his blade he used to hone his electricity when in use.

With his shoulder burned deeply it coukdnt hope to be as powerful as the other, but that still left it with the strength of an athletic male behind it. Striking swiftly with both blades, and the Force behind each blow, he could easily slice Durasteel in half. Morna had failed in his helping the man, and now they would have to deal with his legendary rage.

As his eyes darkened and began to glow a smoldering scarlet, he continued his assault. Driven by utter darkness, the blows were sporadic and unpredictable. Neck, shin, shoulder, ankle, neck again. So many attacks came, that the swift Czar was even getting out of breath. Ashin was the Fringe's Tank, Zaiden might as well be their Stealth Destroyer.

(Jared I gave you an out to cease the battle if you sign on quick enough. Call Zaiden on his initial hesitation and the battle will end.)

As Zaiden decided to come out on a frontal assault with attacks against Ashin straight on, I knew that Ashin could stand her ground, but even as Zaiden was fueled with the force, two blades, and in an utter rage, one slip up and that was the end. With my Saber in my right hand, I moved out from the barricade that I had made of the beams and force. As the blast sent Ashin back to where I was now behind Zaiden, he clearly thought me as not a threat.

I rushed forwards towards Zaiden, My fire then crackled with lighting. Using a combination of the blue arcing fingers and the tongues of flames, I threw a ball at his back. By that time I was within rage for a lightsaber uppercut intending to cut straight up his spine.

Unpredictable ceased to matter. Ashin was in the Force, her muscle memory closely tied to instinctive precognition. This was what enabled Masters to go blade-to-blade with each other, at these speeds, and stretch out fights for seconds or minutes. For non-Force-users, most sword fights ended in a handful of moves, no more. Her lightsabre, held with Force-enhanced strength, stood strong against even the heavy momentum of the Sith sword he carried in his other hand, opposite his sabre. Neck, shin, shoulder, ankle, neck again -- she caught the first by bringing her sabre high and intercepting the strike near her blade emitter, then swooped and inverted the weapon to smash her bladetip into his shin strike with unusual force. Her blade kept moving, came up to slam into the shoulder cut. She swung low and far out to catch the ankle hit, ducked the decapition-

And stole, at least in part, the momentum of the fight. She rose and slashed horizontally, right to left, just as Morna struck with his uppercut.

Just as the ball of Force Energies came Zaiden's way, he was already in motion. Beginning a cartwheel, he left Ashin to deal with the ball as well as avoided the attacks wrought by both. Stealth, evasion in itself, was his specialty. It would take more then this to truly catch him slipping. Landing with his feet firm, Zaiden continued the downward momentum to bring the saber in a spin that continued around his back to be brought up in the opposite side in another powerful Force Driven Dragite Blast at the woman's center.

Though he was handling his own, he had sacrificed a lot to use the explosion. His breathing was ragged, and his body was starting to feel the lack of oxygen. Fueling his abilities with the Force he continued, by spinning and bringing a similarly powerful Blast, this being driven solely by the crystals abilities, at Morna's chest while once again allowing his spin to carry him around.

In the end, Zaiden once again brought his saber towards the lithe woman's neck....then once again altered course and with his full strength, he brought it down with the intent of catching Ashin offf guard. The blow alone could cut through enough to be nearly overpowered, but in his Darkside driven rage he didn't care.

But if that was the case, why did he feel like he did hold back.

@[member="Ashin Varanin"] @[member="Morna Imura"] @[member="Jared Ovmar"]

As my saber came up to strike from behind the man, he had avoided my fire blast, which was not that hard in my mind, really it was just to weaken him for the coming attacks. My saber hit nothing but air, and as he spun around, my left hand pushed out just at the last second as the blast that had been sent both at myself, and Ashin. My body was covered and a blue veil of energy that protected me from the blast, but still sent me flying feet back into one of the bent bars that had been upturned from the earlier blast.

I smacked hard into it, but the only harm that came to me was whiplash from my head spinning. I put away my saber to concentrate on my powers more. I was then left in darkness with the veil leaving my body as well. But was soon replaced with blue flame. Where as red and orange was known to burn, Blue was known to cut metal in miliseconds.

The blue flames grew in size and lashing out like a beam made of blue energy, I sent a stream of fire at Zaiden, Not letting up on my powers, Intending to Distract, or even harm Zaiden enough for Ashin to get within arms reach once more and start it all back to square one.
