She sensed @[member="Penumbra"]'s death through their mental warfare and their Force bond. Such a dry and bloodless way to put it, when it shook her to the core. Her eyes stung. With three quick swings, she slashed through the roof of the starship and dropped into a main corridor still ringing with the impact of the durasteel square. He lay there, lifeless, and she deactivated her sabre. His weapon -- the sabre she'd given him in a Concordance of Fealty -- floated to her hand.
"I didn't know it would kill y-" She bit it off, grimacing. However she felt, she knew the truth. She knew Zaiden's struggle intimately. The Force still reverberated with the passage of his spirit.
The tempation was sudden and immense. With the Dark Side, she could find him a new body, bind his soul, keep it from dissipating into the cosmic Force. But she was no longer of the Dark Side. This, right here, was the hardest part of her conversion -- to learn to give him up.
She closed his eyes and took his gear, bundling it up for safety's sake and using a Force shield to shove the tsaisi into a small compartment within the ship. The man loved his gadgets. Lethal even in death.
"This wasn't my victory, Zaiden. This was yours."
