Destiny 2: where it is now, and wheather or not I should jump back in.

I pre-ordered destiny 2. I was very excited and played it as religiously as I could. I loved the world and the 3 DLC's and it kept me excited untill I finished forsaken. At this point school and other things got in the way of destiny and I spent the game time I did have on GTA 5. I have been looking at videos of the game at this point and Destiny 2 is looking pretty fun; however, I am also going to be picking up a copy of Division 2 and I'm not sure if I should launch back into a game when another major time suck.

Thoughts and opinions on whether or not the grind has gotten fun again and if the Game is worth getting back into.

Forsaken with the Annual Pass is tons of fun. Just finished 4 games of Gambit Prime today. The grind is real, but the new 640 power level bounties given at the Drifter are supposed to make it easier to access the end-game content more quickly. I was already 648 when they dropped so, I've never used one. Lol.

Enhancement Cores are still hard to come by however. So spend them wisely to create Masterwork Weapons and Infuse Gear. Likewise, Mod parts can now be bought from ADA-1 down in the Annex. I'm sitting on 22 Mod parts right now. Which has never happened before. Lol.

I'm okay with where the meta is right now too. Last Word is strong, Auto Shotguns got a fire-rate nerfed, Rocket Launchers without Cluster Bomb got buffed, and Heavy Machine Guns still have crazy range for some reason. Thousand Voices and Jotunn still one-shot me in Gambit all the freaking time. But at least Queenbreaker doesn't have perfect aim-assist anymore. Meh.

As for the Division. I've seen some beta footage, watched the new PvP, and seen just how broken 3-man and 4-man groups get with unkillable bullet-sponge enemies running around. It's buggy, bad audio, disconnects, invisible add spawns, and still suffers from the same frustrations as the original Division game. So I doubt I'll even jump into Dv2 for a year. Hoping they fix stuff after launch. :(

Wretched Vampire
There's a lot to do, but Last Wish is even more finnickity that Leviathan was. Eater of Worlds is still my favourite raid in D2.

A lot of "content" that they added with black forge was simply "To make this weapon kill 4000 taken by shooting them in the foot with a sidearm, then proceed to earth and raid every lost sector, then..."

For me that wasn't content. Just a grind. It turned me off the game with only a handful of hours to spend a week and I've stopped playing.

Gambit is garbage without a good team on discord voice. PvP is okay but the meta was feeling very stale for me.

Destiny 2 is probably still just as hollow and superficial as the last one.

The characters haven't earned your time or for you to care about them, not really. There's nothing really engaging about Destiny 1 or 2 bar socialising and some good concepts.

The gameplay isn't the best, original Halo's still trump it and it's pvp has always been a joke.

If you enjoy the superficial gratification of shinies that Looter Shooters rely on, then you'll enjoy this game. If you want something of substance? Don't waste your money.

[member="Quoron Cadera"] - Last I checked it was 35$.

I'll admit that Tathra and Rhys' critiques are mostly accurate. It's not for everybody. That said, I hope you dive into Dv2 and see if you love it. If you do. Decision made. Or? If you thought D2 was better? All the same. You do you. :D

If you're about to purchase another rpg, probably don't want to pick up Destiny. Forsaken's story is very good and the new Gambit mode is great. That said, grinding for endgame loot is a bit of a chore and I personally can't find a group to raid with (doesn't help that I have anxiety and am picky about who I raid with).

But I enjoy it and it's a fun game to get lost in. It's introduced some... very interesting twists in Destiny's lore and I live for those.
