  • Height: 7’5 ft

  • Eye Colour: Brown

  • Hair Colour: Black

  • Appearance: A veritable giant of a man, Dergan Twigg towers above most. His entire body is a mass of muscle, enhanced by First Order scientific research. His appearance is conservative, a juxtaposition to earlier days in the stormtrooper corps and as a mercenary. Short cut black hair with the slightest hint of a five o’clock shadow at the very worst. His features are gaunt, and taut. Despite the fact he’s just pushed thirty, gene therapies ensure he has an extremely youthful disposition.

[*]
Skills: Dergan Twigg is a Death Trooper. Death incarnate. He has no marketable skills outside of brute force and combat training. His psyche and mind are so fractured that anything outside of these two, is effectively unavailable as a career path.

[*]
Personality: There are two sides to every coin, as is the case with Dergan Twigg, but what underpins Twigg is a dogged sense of loyalty. Within and outside of combat scenarios, those whom Twigg trains with and works with extensively, are those whom he becomes attached to the most. Often times, treating them almost like family. Outside of combat he is a surprisingly chipper figure. A joker of sorts, often bragging boisterously about his exploits in battle and off duty. This however does not preclude him from performing cruel and obnoxious pranks on unsuspecting comrades, or throwing one under a bus for a cheap laugh. Once within combat however, Twigg expresses a businesslike approach. He understands his own limitations and is always ready and willing to commit

COMBAT INFORMATION

  • Weapon of Choice: The two favourite weapons of Twigg are the DH-52 Rotary Maser Cannon, and the Blackwing Electric Sword. The former is a high powered cannon, which Twigg uses to great effect, mowing down row upon row of hostile combatants. However, for those unlucky enough to have made it through the intial barrage of microwave charged barrrage, Twigg takes great pleasure in impaling and severing the limbs of enemies with his high powered Blackwing blade.

  • Combat Function: Dergan Twigg is a versatile combatant able to fill most roles with vigour, but where he is most at home is as a shock trooper. Acting as the hammer for any offensive. His high powered armour, extensive combat experience and biological augmentations mean that Twigg can and will crush any and all opposition in his way. He often carries heavier weapons into battle, able to carry them easily and absorb recoil that most others can’t. Twigg often acts as the leader of the first wave of any attack, taking the bulk of enemy fire while allied combatants manage to push forward. In this way, he acts as the anchor of any offensive action, and in retreat, will always act as the vanguard, sacrificing his safety to ensure others get out. This is not to say Twigg is not fully professional. Sometimes, in the rush of the moment he can and has used his brute strength to dispatch enemies in gruesome fashion. Either to avenge his comrades or demoralise enemies.
Strengths:

  • Prime Physical Specimen: The Project AFTERLIFE augmentations have helped upgrade a body that was already of great physical stature. His reflexes are rivalled by few, and his strength is surprising.

  • Indomitable Will: For all his shortcomings intellectually, Twigg makes up for it in shear force of will. Coupled with his physical size and high pain threshold, Twigg is a fearsome presence in any battlefield.

  • Veteran: Dergan Twigg has seen more combat than most have or ever will see.

  • Loyalty: Twigg’s loyalty to his compatriots in the field is ferocious. If any are grievously harmed, he will be sure to defend and avenge them.
Weaknesses:

  • Psychological Instability: The Project AFTERLIFE program has adversely effected his mental state. This coupled with untreated and underlying post traumatic stress has seen Twigg develop a form of mental illness which manifests itself in the form of schizophrenic episodes. Episodes where he will attempt to commune with dead comrades.

  • Addict: The augmentations which so greatly improved his combat ability, has seen Twigg become addicted to the stimulants which keep him active. As such, extended periods without said stimulants result in irate and violent behaviour, levelled at both friend and foe.

  • Intellectual Impairment: Although not medically diagnosed with any impairment Twigg displays signs of a lower than average IQ. He often has trouble articulating himself, and following complex briefings. As such, it is advised to use shorter words with less than five syllables and simple terms to convey orders and information.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Dergan Adolphous Twigg was born to Doctor Wenefried Ducaine and Professor Marcus Twigg, two members of Dosuun’s intellectual elite. The former working as an orthopaedic surgeon and working to improve surgical routines for medical droids, and his father a research into new construction-engineering methodology. Twigg was born the last of several children whom were all prodigies in their own right. At the time of his birth, two of his siblings were working on their PHD’s in xenobiology and applied mechanical sciences, a third was a marketing executive with a local broadcasting firm and a fourth now worked as an archaeologist in the nearby Kathol sector.

Despite what would seem to be a family of academics, it soon became apparent to his parents, that Dergan wouldn’t amount to much. This was assessed through his lack of learning progress. While his siblings had been walking and talking by a year old, Twigg was still rolling on the floor gargling, and because of that he was discarded to an extent. Although he would receive the best education money could buy, his parents would pay more attention to his gifted older siblings.

Dergan would always lag in education, and was bullied and ostracised by his peers. He would be relentlessly teased, called “slow”, “poodoo for brains”, and assailed with other derisive monikers. It shattered his self -confidence, and although Twigg would try to take the high road as his elder siblings would suggest, he found it difficult. Eventually, something had to give, and as he grew up, Twigg began to use his fists rather than his head to sort out problems. Because of this, he would become something of a menace at school, using his larger size, and muscle mass to beat the kids who had at one point ridiculed and antagonised him. As he grew older, he began to become more violent, and as school became harder, Twigg lost faith with any education he attended. Instead of pursuing his studies, he became a truant, and soon began to mix with the wrong type of people. Particularly the gang known as the Fangers, an outfit comprising of members from the wealthier suburbs of Dosuun's capitol, Avalonia.

Twigg became something of an infamous figure within the Fangers, gaining a reputation as a bruiser, who would enforce the will of the gang. His leading role would be to run backup, and enforcement of the Fanger’s will, whether it be upon other gangs like the Riffs, or extorting business owners. Because of his muscle, he would become a protagonist of the running war between the Riffs and Fangers. Through this, Twigg would make several close friends in the gangland conflict including Zamel Gerda.

Twigg would spend years with the Fangers, managing to make himself very real enemies in the Riffs. There were several occasions in which blades and blasters were pulled on the boy, but a mixture of dumb luck, and superior numbers on his part meant his life was never truly in danger. The gangland war saw Twigg rise through the ranks of the Fangers, and become one of the senior members of the group thanks to his impressive record as a brawler and loyalty to his fellow members.

The gangland conflict saw its climax at the Brodley, a local diner and regular spot between the two. Twigg had been dining there with close friends, when Riffs found out he was dining there, it sparked a brief and violent brawl. Twigg copped a chair to the head, but gave as good as he got, kicking the ever living hell out of his attackers. This action was not unusual, but the arrival of the First Order in previous weeks saw a definitive crackdown on violence. A half platoon of stormtroopers arrived and their subsequent intervention in the brawl lead to a premature end to the action.

In the wake of the Brodley Incident, Twigg was arrested. However unlike many who were charged during the incident, his parents academic clout and new acquiescence with the regime saw him spared the full retribution of the law. But even his parents wrath would be severe. After having taken a more liberal view to their sons antics, the Twigg’s decided it was high time he grew up. Realising a life of academia would be beyond him, Marcus pulled strings and had his son conscripted into the military, hoping they’d be able to keep him out of trouble.

Twigg’s assessment results would be poor to say the least. He didn’t reach the intelligence levels to join the Navy, or the reflexes to join the Starfighter Corps. Twigg was pressed into the army, where he was put to the bottom of the pile, and sorted into the 6th platoon of the 253rd Garrison Battalion. His lack of intellect, and propensity to cash cheques with his mouth that he couldn’t pay meant he was lumped in with the beginnings of the Gundark Gunners, a soon to be infamous punishment platoon.

Twigg’s early tenure with the Gundark Gunners was quiet. It was a posting which primarily saw the soldier guarding urban, and rural weapons caches, and doing patrols. Although training had been a brutal affair, Dergan found the routines involved in his work as relatively luxurious. He was paid well, given regular time off, and the uniform attracted company of the opposite sex all the time. For Twigg, he was having the time of his life.

As the Gundark Gunners continued to be segregated from the stormtrooper corps, and sent out to more distant postings to save the armies face, they became more tribalized and developed their own customs. As apart of that the platoons CO, Lieutenant Gorbets saw new techniques to haze members, and get some fun out of abusing them. Twigg’s ideas on hazing new members, and general unpleasant veneer put the Gunners on the map. He’d regularly involve himself in the affairs of new troopers, bullying them out of their rations, reading their mail from home aloud and pulling cruel and unusual pranks on them.

This culture became more toxic as Zamel Gerda, Twigg’s partner in crime from his days in the Fangers arrived. The two, with much gusto continued elaborating on the culture and creating new and unique trials. Because of their genius work, Twigg and Gerda, were promoted by Lieutenant Gorbets, and because of their seniority, when Rexus Wenck, their mutual enemy from Twigg and Gerda’s days in the Fangers and Riffs saw old rivalries crop up.

The two began to repeatedly abuse Rexus, spiking his food with laxatives, forcing him to do sixteen hour shifts with no breaks, waking him up by dunking freezing cold water on him, and finally docking his pay cheques. That was the final straw for Rexus, who lashed out while the three were on duty, beating Gerda to within an inch of his life, and managing to best Twigg in single combat. Twigg saw his adversary in a whole different light, and attempted to make peace once the situation cleared up.

Rexus denied the two rapprochement initially, but accepted it soon after, with the trio growing close. This would prove crucial, particularly after the Effekt Incident. While deployed to Effekt for a training exercise, the Gunners became agitated and bored. Seeking some way to enjoy themselves, they turned to pranks. In an act of skulduggery and foolishness, the Gunners decided to play a prank on their senior commanding officer, by pumping his room full of the bases septic tanks contents. However, they made a tactical error, and pumped the sewerage into the wrong room. They managed to pump the sewerage into the room of Marshal Cortez.

The Marshal Cortez was livid, and ordered the Gunners deployment to Zarnathea a planet in the midst of civil war. For many of the Gunners, Twigg included, it was terrifying. The Zarnathean campaign changed the nature of the Gundark Gunners forever, and in particular Twigg. It was their first outing into a live fire combat scenario, so for the unit it shaped them. Twigg, who had too often thought of his sergeant rank as a means to pay for more alcohol and women, now had to step up to the plate and lead. The assassination of their leader, lieutenant Gorberts during a traffic stop frazzled Twigg's nerves. But it would be their deployment that would see triumph for both platoon and squadron.

In order to quell increasing insurgent attacks within the Zarnathean capitol of Nar'Tan, the Gundark Gunners were sent to the front in an attempt to drive hostile forces from the market district under the watchful gaze of then General Asha’rad Graush. Twigg, under the cool and steady hand of Rexus, his once sworn enemy managed to liberate the capital of insurgents, but not before taking heavy casualties. Twigg may have been stupid, and tough, but he wasn’t immune to the pain those losses had brought. He’d lost comrades, and friends alike. It was a lasting experience. But it was one that caught the eye of General Graush, whom took the Gunners under his wing.

Twigg evolved somewhat from that day. Whenever the Gundark Gunners were dispatched to a new conflict zone, Twigg would be up in front, barking orders and commanding troops, trying to mitigate casualties. As he began to throw himself more and more at the frontlines, he earned the respect of Rexus, and became his de-facto second in command. If there were partisans needing to be dealt with, Twigg would get second crack, after Rexus had had his fun executing the traitorous scum.

This relationship only grew as the First-First Order-Galactic Alliance war began. Twigg and the other Gunners saw extensive combat during the turning points of the war. First, they held the line during the Battle of Kaeshana where Twigg and Rexus lead a valiant defence in the face of protracted attack presented by the automatons of HK-36 and the Galactic Alliance Defence Force. The Gundark Gunners then were tasked with the presitgious task of rescuing the downed vessel of Grand Moff Natasi Fortan during the Battle of Mustafar. Even under sustained Galactic Alliance bombing runs during the Battle for Mustafar. With such an esteemed combat record, it seemed as if everything was going up. That the Gunners, for all their faults may become a new premier fighting force with Twigg seeing promotion in the future. This may have been the case, alas for Skor.

The failed intervention at Skor saw many facets of the military blamed. Poor planning, a lack of warning of incoming enemy vessels, but most devastatingly was the war crimes committed at that point. When the VX gas grenades were implemented into the First Order’s arsenal, Dergan Twigg did not receive proper training as to what the grenades effects were. Deployed to contain a space station in the planets orbit, Twigg, under Rexus’ orders saw the extensive use of the weapons, which caused the mass deaths of hundreds of squib, Skor’s inhabitants.

Although he wouldn’t know it, until it was too late, the Gunners critical role in the engagement had infuriated Central Command to no end. When the Gundark Gunners returned, war weary, and beaten, they were greeted not as heroes, as had been expected. But instead, as war criminals. Supreme Commander Graush took great pleasure in the Gunners dissolution and mass execution in the form of reverse decimation. Of the 50 stormtroopers, only 5 remained.

Twigg, along with Rexus, and a few others survived the Sith lords wrath. They were then stripped of their ranks, and thrown into the auxiliary. A unit filled with criminals, alien species and other undesirables. Although they had been stripped of their dignity. Their pay grade and their moral killed, the survivors formed around Rexus, where they stayed together, fighting during the Galactic Alliance’s invasion of the Anoat sector. However, without the stormtrooper armour, Twigg felt naked, and alone without the voices of his comrades running into battle with him. He was not alone. Rexus felt the same, and the two left First Order space for greener pastures, disillusioned with the regime they had sacrificed so much for.

For a time, Twigg and Rexus toured the war torn Core worlds as private mercenaries. Although they did achieve some success as bodyguards, the two stormtroopers were out of their depth. After incurring a debt to a gangster on Chandrila, they returned from the Core, a little richer, but nonetheless still aimless. For weeks, Twigg tried to find something to make of himself, with no avail. No one would accept the work of a man tainted by war crimes. All until the Great Galactic War. In the build up for their surprise attack against the Galactic Alliance, the First Order sought to rearm and prepare its forces for a new offensive thrust into the Galactic Alliance.

Rexus and Twigg were covertly contacted by the FOSB and then picked back up to the Stormtrooper Corps. Central Command decided that for the new wars to be fought, the First Order needed all hands on deck. The more experienced, the better. In new identities and ranks, Twigg and Rexus were attached to the Star Destroyer, FIV Reprisal, the flagship for the oncoming offensives. Twigg was present during the opening Battle of L-49, but would only see redemption during the Battle of Dagobah, less than 24 hours later. The First Order, having achieved a crushing victory over the Alliance, pursued their devastated fleet to Dagobah, where but a day earlier the Galactic Empire had attempted to take the system.

The Battle of Dagobah was a redemptive arc for Dergan Twigg. He, Rexus, FN-6767 and Luther Ando formed a squad after being shot down over the system, and marched through the swamps and into the heart of darkness. Faced with constant X-Wing strafing runs, mortar bombardments and a final banzai charge lead by Galactic Alliance forces, Twigg held the line. He held out despite overwhelming odds, again and again, until reinforcements could evacuate them.

The aftermath of Dagobah was a coups, and saw Central Command examine the performances of the troopers involved, and decided to form a specialised test group. Project AFTERLIFE. A group designed to test the new age surgeries and genetic therapies to create the first Death Troopers in nigh 850 years. Twigg, an already prime physical specimen, saw his form and transformed into a somehow greater unit. Enhanced reflexes, size and durability made an already adept combatant, a killing machine.

The following years saw Twigg and his fellow test subjects dispatched across the frontiers of First Order space. Expanding its borders and exterminating all who got in its way. The team of test subjects, codenames ALPHA were the First Orders premier commando force, and served with distinction. However, it all slowly unravelled. Firstly with the withdrawal of squad leader, Luther Ando from the AFTERLIFE program. The squad continued to operate, but Twigg’s morale was burdened by this. The next came with the fall of the First Order, and the defection of team sniper DT-6767 to the Core Imperial Confederation. With that, ALPHA became a two man operation between Rexus and Twigg.

Rexus and Twigg were operating on Bakura when the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium attacked. They were present during the final stand against the Ssi-Ruuk. They fought valiantly, but their presence was not enough to change the tide of battle. In the ruins of Bakura, and with the Order seemingly defeated, Rexus and Twigg briefly contemplated desertation. Nothing was worth this. But after two days, the need for the sweet, sweet sustenance in the form of steroid injections. They found they had become addicted and the need for Project AFTERLIFE stimulants was simply unbearable. The duo wandered the wastes of Bakura and managed to barter passage to the new First Order headquarters on Pa’Desh with a refugee vessel.

Upon arrival to Pa’Desh the Death Troopers were resupplied and immediately put back into service. Not as their own elite team, but as apart of the greater and freshly formed Retribution Corps. Now a slave to the stimulants which enhance his performance, the only thing that drives Twigg is the rush of the kill and to watch his enemies die.
