ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Bioelectric Field: A modified power gland housed within the structure creates a specialized energy field that offers protection against the Bryn's tech disruption by the likes of Syphons and other bioweapons with similar abilities. (Note: This only works against remote AOE abilities and not direct physical contact with the fighter.)
  • Caltrop-5 Chaff Gun: A gun that shoots thousands of small durasteel fléchettes to confuse enemy sensors. Never intended as an offensive weapon, the fléchettes themselves don't have much damage potential against hard stationary targets, but small craft and missiles risk destruction by passing through the clouds of shrapnel at high speeds.
  • Homing Lasers: Inspired by Nantex Starfighters and the TERA (Tractor Energy Reactive Armor) system of the Super Star Destroyers Shining Path and Hyperion Ascendant, the Saberhawk employs lasers cannons that use arrays of miniature tractor beams that allow bolts to be fired off axis at nearly 360 degrees, making the starfighter a threat to engage at any angle.
  • Gravitic Pulsewave Generator: Operating on similar principles as Hyperdrives, the generator releases an intense short range burst of gamma radiation in a directed conical pattern in that creates cascades of gravity waves. These gravity waves in turn can damage targets, and can heavily weaken shields or sections of them against larger vessels, creating gaps for follow up attacks by allies.
  • "Third Eye" Crystal Sensor: Exclusive to Force Users, these Kyber crystals are specially attuned to enhance a users extrasensory perception and telepathic abilities, greatly improving situational awareness. Directly tied into the fighter's avionics, adept pilots may use Third Eye for targeting and detection in place of the standard sensor/targeting package. Useful in situations against signal jamming, spoofing, and stealth tech.
STRENGTHS
  • Saberhawks are quite nimble, able quickly close in on targets and outmaneuver most ships in its class.
  • Swatter - Its kit of homing lasers and chaff guns make the Saberhawk quite deadly against opposing starfighters in dogfighting scenarios, particularly drones that usually possess little to no defenses.
  • Shieldbuster - It can use its Gravity Pulse Generator not only to deal damage against targets, but also to weaken shields or individual sections to create temporary openings for critical attacks.
  • Locus - The Third Eye Crystal greatly enhances FU pilots perceptions and detection abilities.
WEAKNESSES
  • A low squadron count means that flights of Saberhawks will almost always be outnumbered, requiring the use of good tactics to overcome such shortcomings.
  • Lacks missiles and other long range standoff weaponry, meaning it will always have to engage at mid to close range which is more dangerous.
  • The Gravitic Pulse Generator is quite power hungry, drawing power from both energy weapon systems and shielding. While the Gravitic Pulse Generator charges (60 seconds), Homing Lasers go offline and shielding greatly weakens, temporarily reducing its defense rating from Average to Low.
  • Active use of Third Eye makes users more susceptible to detection by Force based means. It is vulnerable to suppression or interference by relevant anti-force technology.
DESCRIPTION

The Saberhawk is a beefier derivative of the venerable Delta-7 Interceptor, developed in-house by the Silver Engineering Corps (SEC) of the Silver Jedi under the direct supervision of Jyoti Nooran. It was no accident that the Delta-7 was used as the baseline for the Saberhawk, Jyoti hoping to inspire Jedi Aces with one of their most cherished fighters from history. The familiar controls also made it easy for incoming pilots to quickly adjust.

The enhanced version of the Delta-7 was made specifically to address the issue of swarm fighter tactics and the increasingly robust defenses of capital ships so favored by the Bryn'adul. Additional defensive tech was implemented to counter the Bryn's infamous tech disruption platforms. During combat, Saberhawks are meant to be piloted by elite Jedi Aces and spearhead fighter assaults, first cutting through hordes of defending interceptors. Once finished with the interceptors, the Saberhawks proceed to disable or weaken the shielding of target vessels with its signature Gravitic Pulse Generator to make them more vulnerable to follow up strikes by attack craft and friendly capital ships.

This represents a small evolution on carrier tactics that emphasizes synchronized attacks where the Saberhawk acting more in a supporting role (debuffing) rather than being an outright attacker itself during Anti-Ship operations.

This looks largely good just a few small things to be done

These can simply haave your subs and N/A respectfully as some fo the materials are from alternate accounts of yours.

This will need either a linked sub or canon reference from the wookie (I recommend Adi Gallia when she was testing out her jedi starfighter and learned the force could enhance a jedi pilot. As well as specific nullification field weakness mentioned.

Your link is wrong and will need to be fixed currently it links to the nantex and not the shining path.

Why oh god why the links for the ascendant are so broken but if you are TERA it should have the weaknesses of such as well as the listed strengths.

Third Eye is a alchemical forced based neurotransmitter that helps boost the senses of a force user as an antennae, functioning like a meditation sphere lite. Even on its own I think the description and operation of the component is pretty straightforward and it has a dedicated weakness as an active sensor. The intended target (Bryn ships) are Force enabled and usually overseen by FU commanders.

I know that the Factory no longer observes precedence, but I imagine I can easily trawl through the Factory to find other examples of tech that boosts Force connections and senses that were deemed fitting for the setting.

Fixed

The links are broken because of the site update and I haven't gone back to fix them yet. I think that's the norm for all submissions made before the update.

There was no individual sub made for TERA. I listed it as something similar in operation for reference purposes, but the homing lasers are specific to the Saberhawk and are really watered down in comparison to the operation Nantex and the TERA system. You can't use them to grapple or deflect attacks. It just lets you shoot laser beams off bore like an A-Wing, which is should be appropriate for an elite fighter of limited production and tiny squadron size.
