OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Death Watch Super Commandos
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Classification: Mandalorian Warriors
  • Description: Formed from the Mandalorians Clans who had pledged their loyalty to the Sith in exchange for freedom and power, this new incarnation of the Death Watch denounces the previous iteration and vehemently opposes all Mandalorian resistance groups. Though they have eschewed the traditional gray and blue coloration on their armor for a more blatantly Sith-aligned dark gray and red, the members of Death Watch still proudly wear their organization’s symbol upon their right breast; the stylized jai'galaar in mid-dive; often colored red. Death Watch worships the former Mand’alor Ra Vizsla through a heavily mythologized lense and readily invokes his name to both bestow upon themselves a boon or curse their enemies. Some may question why Death Watch remains loyal to the Sith when so many of their comrades have either turned against the Sith or have been outright slaughtered for being a Mandalorian. The answer is complicated, but in short, the remaining members of Death Watch had always believed that the Mandalorians should not have been such a freely egalitarian society like the ones built by many of their predecessors. They believe that being Mandalorian is a privileged status and that only true warriors should be allowed to wear the armor and swear themselves by the Resol’nare. Thus, they perceived those targeted by the Sith Empire’s genocidal doctrines as being lesser than Mandalorian, not truly fit to shoulder the mantle; dar’manda. To the Death Watch, power cannot be given nor inherited. It must be taken.

COMBAT INFORMATION:
STRENGTHS
  • Mandalorian Super Commandos: Death Watch’s armament is among some of the most comprehensive and destructive of all Mandalorian groups, making them a formidable and versatile force.
  • Extremist Zealots: Death Watch will never relent, never retreat, and never surrender. They will show no mercy to their enemies, and they expect none in return.
WEAKNESSES
  • Creed Traitors: When the Death Watch betrayed their compatriots to ally with the Sith, they earned their eternal enmity. Nothing can reconcile Death Watch with their fellow Mandalorians that have rejected the Sith.
  • Extremist Zealots: Though they are unrelenting, the Death Watch will never give an inch to their enemies even when their death is imminent. They gladly embrace death and often laden themselves with high explosives before making a last suicidal charge.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Though Death Watch had existed in the modern galaxy for several decades, those who now call themselves Death Watch can trace their most recent founding to the creation of the Mandalorian Empire under Mand’alor Ra Vizsla. Because of their tireless devotion to Vizsla’s Empire, the Death Watch unknowingly became pawns to the designs of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Carnifex.
In secret, Ra Vizsla had been brought back to life by the Dark Lord to take hold of the reins of the Mandalorian people and erode their foundations until they were too weak to resist the Sith. Those Mandalorians of significant Force ability were driven away by Ra’s anti-Force policies and enforced Midicholorian sterilization, and those who disagreed with Ra’s tactics were either exiled or executed. Without any opposition to his rule, Vizsla established a cult of personality around his person with Death Watch as his most ardent followers.
However, Ra Vizsla would be presumed killed following an assassination attempt and was martyred by the Death Watch. The young Yasha Mantis was elevated in his place, dividing the Mandalorian people further as those who opposed her appointment departed the Mandalorian Empire. Death Watch remained to serve this new Mand’alor, but many of their highest ranking members were secretly summoned by the Dark Lord to be put further under his control.
When the Mandalorians were betrayed and shattered by the Sith during the First Battle of Mandalore, those that remained of Death Watch allied themselves with the Sith at the behest of their controlled leaders. In time, they became just another tool of the Sith, another extension of their ever-growing grasp on the former Mandalorian people.
