Beginning her life as a Victory Class Star Destroyer, the Dawn Treader served an Imperial Warlord with honor and distinction fo several decades. Housing the Warbird Wing, which was Coren Starchaser's first Imperial posting, the Dawn Treader's crew was burned by the warlord during a time of anti-Force propaganda and forced into hiding among the Chiss in the Unknown Regions. Following Starchaser's eventual carbonite freeze and return, the Treader returned to the galaxy, spending time in the Levantine Sanctum before making her way to the various locations with the Frontiers Corps.
While Coren began running around with the Galactic Alliance, the ship remained in the care of the Silver Sanctum until the time came when Coren left known space. Following the elder Starchaser, the ship began to undergo a serious overhaul in the Unknown Regions before returning to the galaxy. She can now be seen in the Outer Rim, near the Kathol Rift, and sometimes in the region of Csillia, where she has a new life as a bulk freighter/starfighter transport, as well as a mobile salvage base and starship maintenance yard.
A changing galaxy and changing roles has caused the Treader to go in for an overhaul on its systems, this includes updating several of the systems, the installation of a Merrill Lighthouse to assist in recovering wayward travelers and Jedi. Finally, the installation of several research labs allows for real-time research on worlds the ship locates, and to provide added support to SCAR world recovery research tasks. , and with the growing Starchaser clan,the decision to go soft and avoid conflict, rather than hard and fight the fights, was reached.The exterior was revamped, and many of the pieces of the original ship were removed in drydock and replaced, as such, the Dawn Treader was rechristened the Dawn Chaser at the Corellian shipyards in 874 ABY.
