OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION

  • Age: 46 (technically 74 years if time counted while encased in carbonite is included)

  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User

  • Species: Corellian

  • Appearance: Dav appears a muscular man in his early fifties with salt and pepper hair. His piercing green eyes and solemn countenance lend him an serious and formal air. Typically he wears traditional freetrader spacer wear, with utilitarian pants, shirts, and a thick, nerfhide leather jacket. He will tailor his wardrobe to different situations though, and he will drag out formal fear for the rare business meeting with the vice president or Carabello Armored Clothing made in his typical, relaxed Corellian style if he thinks there's a chance of danger.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Name: Dav Hannser (also goes by 'Old Green Eyes' in certain locales and the cover identity of Dack Athway)

  • Loyalties: Gir Quee, Lucerne Labs, Lantillian Spacers Brotherhood

  • Wealth: Hannser lost much of his original wealth during the years he was frozen in carbonite, and has been steadily building it up to about middle class average on most worlds. Much of this wealth though is tied up on ship and cargo for speculative trading, so he typically does not have much liquid wealth available to him.

  • Notable Possessions: near stock MB-C1 Medium transport Pulsar Wind II, LE-series Repair Droid LE-B56E, one DL-44 Blaster pistol, spacer clothes, Carabello Armored Clothes, comlink, datapad, Neti Field Cloak

  • Skills: Pilot (freighters), astronavigation, gunslinger, barter & other basic freetrader skills, how to socially navigate through the criminal underworld

  • Personality: Before his imprisonment, Dav embodied the stereotypical cocky and assertive Corellian. Since being freed, Dav's confidence has been much tempered by regret. While still decidedly self-assured, he is much less vocal about his abilities and is known for pragmatically approaching problems. Casual acquaintances describe him as a rugged individualist who's willing to make calculated risks and engage in some smooth-talking in order to get a good deal. Behind the scenes, Hannser is a workaholic, spending almost every free moment to trying to get ready for the next deal by investigating possible trading trends and making the right social connections. Some of his friends think that actions are driven by a need to reclaim his wealth and reclaim his financial independence from Gir Quee and Lucerne Labs. In actuality, while his actions are driven by his rescue, they are actually in preparation to conceal his role in the disappearance of Gir Quee's parents and redeem himself for that action. He still feels guilty about that day, and treats Gir as a son just as much as for his role in their disappearance as for his rescue by his old acquaintance's son.

COMBAT INFORMATION

  • Weapon of Choice: DL-44 Blaster Pistol, Starship

  • Combat Function: Dav Hannser is a reasonably effective gunslinger, with a good quick draw and follow-up snapshot. However, if given the choice, he prefers to fight enemies from a cockpit or gun turret. Dav is not an adept combat leader, nor is he effective in prolonged combat outside of operating starship systems.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Dav Hannser started out like many adventurous Corellian youths, looking to the stars as a way to escape the world. Shortly after graduating secondary school, he joined the crew of the Pulsar Wind, a small-time freetrader vessel that operated out of Coronet City. These first few years were very formative for him, as he learned not only the basics of operating a starship, but entered the spacer culture as well. The Pulsar Wind struggled to stay afloat operating a legitimate trader, causing Hannser to conclude that the only way to consistently return good profit margins was to transport illegal cargo or have the right connections. When he ventured off to buy his own light freighter, the man quickly became a small-time bacta smuggler, supplying bacta to those officially banned or otherwise blackmailed by the powerful bacta cartels that controlled Thyferra. While he posed as a legitimate freetrader during that time, he had little qualms about rubbing shoulders with criminals, hostile governments, and anyone else who needed to get bacta on the sly. During one such mission, he encountered Kell Quee and his wife Leonia who operated a small-time freight shipping operation of their own. Fro then on, Hannser frequently worked with the Quees as a freelance shipper. Despite their time together on dangerous missions of mutual benefit, Dav never really considered the Quees as friends, but rather as a means to obtain wealth. Because of that view, he one day sold the location of one of their deep space asteroid hideaways to who he thought were small-time debt collectors. After exchanging credits though, he realized that one of the men present was a wanted criminal. When the 'collectors' realized this, they shot Dav with a stun bolt before encasing him in carbonite. What they planned to do with him is not known, but they left his encased form in the same hideout. Decades later, Gir Quee rediscovered the asteroid base while attempting to track down the fate of his parents. Gir freed the Dav from his imprisonment and interviewed the man. Dav provided Gir with a large amount of information about his parent's activities, though he did not reveal his complicity in their disappearance. While Gir believes that Dav is hiding something from him, he did not press the matter, thinking it was unrelated to his parent's disappearance. Since then, Gir entered a commercial partnership with the man, providing him with a new ship and much of his equipment in exchange for a cut of the profit. Perhaps just as importantly, Dav has been quick to reestablish many contacts within the local underworlds, and provides Gir with a valuable insight and means to get in touch with less than savory spacers and other criminals. For his part, Dav feels guilty about his role in Kell and Leonia's disappearance which is compounded by the gratitude he feels toward Gir for his rescue and subsequent sponsorship. Dav has come to think of Gir as an adopted son. While it remains to be seen if he will ever reveal his role in the Quees' disappearance, he is certain to try and work for and with him as a means of redemption for his betrayal in whatever means he can. This means that he occasionally joins Gir and other Directorate personnel on missions or aids their actions in other more indirect ways.
