- Cortosis-weave makes the sword able to parry or block lightsabers.
- Vibroblade. Extremely sharp, lightweight melee weapon that cuts through many materials, including most common plastoid-based armor.
- Electro-Mag Pulse Disruptor. Causes circuit overload in contact with computer or droid-based systems.
- Shield Disruptor. Ion field can disrupt ray shielding, granting access to some shielded computer ports or door locks.
- Not Enough Cortosis. Does not shut down lightsabers on contact.
- Things which deflect vibroblades, such as spider-silk armor, deflect this one as well.
- Don't Bring A Vibroblade To A Blaster Fight. This is simple melee.
- It's Personal. Electro-Mag Disruptor requires contact with the target computer or droid to have any effect.
- Shield Disruptor won't bring down the shields of a ship or vehicle, but it might be enough to create an opening enough to access a computer port.
Given that Darkwire had blown both their cover and Denon's culpable deniability regarding the state of affairs there when the group had blown up a train carrying Valery Noble of the New Jedi Order, it seemed to reason that some of the Jedi might be right chuffed at the Shadowrunners.
Now, the Squib didn't know much about the Jedi. Except that they apparently liked plasma swords. And they were hard to kill with blasters, at least by rumor. Of course, he'd also seen that in action for himself when he'd met Draco Miles and had the opportunity to examine a lightsaber up close. Devising useful tools for the group to potentially counter a Jedi attack seemed prudent, but also quite hard to fashion or devise. Ultimately, the Squib assumed that the group would need to be prepared to meet the Jedi on their terms and this sword was the result of that thinking. Incorporating the same design as the smaller Netrunner Vibroshank, the sword was essentially just a much larger version of that vibroblade. The blade was polycarbonate, with the final tempering layering a cortosis-weave on the blade and handle. Textured rubber was then used to give the weapon a comfortable grip. The finished weapon was suitable to a sheath or use of a magnetic plate for holstering and carrying the weapon. Given its length, most humanoids opted to carry it on their back.
The blade was extremely sharp, with the addition of the vibro motor enabling it to sever limbs or cut through plastoid armor with relative ease. Despite its large size, the polycarbonate construction made it lighter than its size suggested.
