  • BA-DA-BOOM. These use a two-stage detonator, with the first being a flash grenade that served as the trigger for the second. The flash-bang could disorient both organic and droids, causing the subsequent shockwave to come as a sucker punch.
  • Different styles of fuses can be used so that the grenade goes off however one may intend (timed, proximity, or impact).

  • Going The Distance. Only as far as it can be thrown, chucked, rolled, or dropped.
  • Damage applies absolutely to all personnel and objects surrounding the grenade, this includes allies who might be caught in the blast radius.
  • The grenade is vulnerable to damage causing it to explode prematurely.

The doorbell was one way to clear a room (the other being the after-effects of Hex Hex 's chili, but I digress...).

The doorbell was, in essence, an overpressurized sonic detonator that used a flash-bang grenade as the catalyst. This resulted in a two-stage detonation that disoriented targets close in time to the shockwave being unleashed. This made it incredibly effective, with the force of blast sufficient to crack ferrocrete. Some species, such as Bith, could have their heads explode from the pressures and frequencies unleashed by the doorbell.

Suffice to say, these were as dangerous and deadly to those who carried them, particularly as the doorbell was only going as far as it could be thrown, meaning whoever threw it could still be inside the blast radius when it went off. And that assumed it went off at the intended location and not at some point inbetween or in flight.

In short, these are mean and nasty. To everyone involved. For that reason, only a few were made and the Squib was unhappy each time he was asked to assemble one. Especially if it was for Hex.
