ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Dagger: The Dark Herald, like all old Imperial Class Star Destroyers, was designed with a forward tactical projection in mind. The vast array of weapons on the vessel are all placed in positions to allow for fire arcing ahead of the vessel. This allows for the Dark Herald to bring overwhelming fire against targets directly in front of it, able to tear its way through opposition head on.
  • Underslung: The primary hangar for the Dark Herald is located underneath the vessel, allowing it to provide protection for its fighters and transports during deployment. The vessels armor and shielding will allow for the rapid and safe deployment of vessels directly into a combat situation, while also protecting them should they need to make a rapid return.
WEAKNESSES
  • Vision: Most of the Dark Heralds weaponry is located in positions to provide excellent forward facing and broadside coverage. The vessel has only the most limited number of weapons facing towards the rear of the vessel, presenting a tempting target to any foe willing to run the gauntlet to try and flank the warship.
  • Aged: The Dark Herald is an aged vessel, dating back to the times of the first Galactic Empire. While it has been retrofitted and brought up to near galactic standards, the vessel cannot help but show its age. It is incapable of engaging vessels of similar caliber and size in head on battles, and must rely on surprise and superior tactics to have a chance against larger, modern warships.
DESCRIPTION
The Dark Herald is an ancient vessel, once belonging to the fleet of warships gifted to the legendary Grand Admiral Thrawn for his expeditions into the Unknown Regions. Lost in a battle long forgotten, and broken upon the surface of a nameless world, the vessel faded from all memory. Over time, scavengers and smugglers came to use the ruined hulk of the vessel as a way station, a small community coming to be developed in the ancient warship. Taverns took the place of armories, markets dominated the hangar bay, and the bridge became a traffic control station. Repairs had even begun on segments of the starship, and things were looking bright for the community.

Then the One Sith came.

The fledgling organization, led by Darth Vindictus arrived in the community and took over operations. Those of use were put to work repairing the starship, while the rest were expelled from the planet, their resources and ships confiscated. It took several months of constant work, and many of the imprisoned workers did not survive the heavy workload demanded by the One Sith, but in time it was finished. Struggling against the planets gravity, the Dark Herald tore its way back into space where it belonged, leaving behind it the remnants of a community that would never be the same. Now, the Dark Herald serves as the mobile flagship of the One Sith as they seek to grow their influence and power within the galaxy.
