- Description: Shifting in form and looks, the Dala are living gos forms able to survive in most environments. Having evolved a means to hold themselves into a more cohesive form. WIth hair and body tone able to shift at will and an almost invisible presence in mosts awareness the species serve as scouts and spies able to go in and gather information before returning to others.

- Density Shifting: Unlike the Filar Nitzan the Dala are able to solidify their bodies and interact physically. They can go into a gas or humanoid form but take on different difficulties.
- Appearance Shifting: Mental abilities that function to scan surface thoughts and create the species appearance to something familiar. Similar to a Mind-witch with the ability to form a small psychic bond but without the absorbing and powerful illusions to feed on... and additionally the Diathim for appearing as something appealing to other species.
- Filar Strengths: A species standard in their gaseous form. Standard melee weapons are highly ineffective but energy based weapons that release a charge can interact with them.
- Expansion: The Dala as gaseous and able to change their own density but lack the control of species like the Filar Nitzan to keep and shape themselves as a gas when in wind or a breeze.
- Density Shifting: Their bodies while in a humanoid form are solid and able to be dismembered. They don't have to breath with lungs or have blood but the small electrical impulses that spark almost invisibly through the gas form and allows them to solidify are focused in the brain.
Damaging the brain when solidified, energy blasters, fire, cold can harm or kill the Dala - Dismembers limbs will revert them to a gaseous form that can slowly return to the body but will take effort and concentration.
- Cold: The cold, mostly below freezing can solidify and kill them when they are in their gaseous forms. They can survive for a time if warmed up but longer then twenty minutes usually results in permanent injury to them.
- Filar Weakness: A standard weakness of the species is energy in their gaseous form.
- Diet: The do not necessarily eat food as much as pollution and carbon emissions from vehicles like speeders. In the event that artificial emissions cannot be found. Natural ones can be sought out like methane in caves or other natural gasses. Without a form of substance they will eventually die.

- As a species their culture is simple mostly. They are not so primitive that they have none but they are also not materialistic to the point they have many things. Art and worship or traditions are not a general part of their species in exchange they are very solitary. Focused on letting themselves find their own little run off they can live in for their lifespan. They honor their cousins if they ever encounter them and regard the more industrial worlds where the skies are filled with pollution as highly important. Compared to many of the other things the Dalatross are curious and willing to share what they might observe about other species with people. THey have over the years developed relations with a number of the jedi as their world came under attack at different times from different forces. Raxus being no lnger a haven which saw them moved to other worlds. As a benefit among places like Atrisia whihc they could clean up pollution in the atmosphere and in the event of biological attacks they could prevent airborne attacks absorbing the sickness.

- With Each other:Among themselves and with their cousins the Delatross are neutral. They interact and communicate but it is a large planet and they can usually stay by themselves instead of being with each other. SOmetimes they will seek each other ut to mate and reproduce some of their species for the next generation but they can be alone for a couple decades with no real problems.
With Outsiders: They are careful, being a species that doesn't really seek to conquer except in ways maybe of making more polluted planets... but they have observed the species will do that for them as a natural part of expansion and progress. With their low numbers and general lack or technological aptitude, they have no ships that are their own nor weapons they could use without losing when they shift to move around quickly. They will either try to scare them away or understand what the visitors are doing by using the force to appear to them as something similar to themselves.
The Force: They can use the force somewhat, some skills are not really able to be used but general skills like mind tricks a species trait can be used. With concentration they can for a short time making their shape solidified for interacting on a larger scale with the environment. Usually punching or kicking to fend off an attacker THis brings more inherent dangers as their heads become the main source of their life and piercing or severing it from the body can kill them. In regards to other skills in the force their general skills and regards to it is as something there connection all living things and they believe deeply in the living force itself.

Born on the Filar homeworld originally but slowly over time they drifted off as a separate line of the species. The landscape of the planet changing when it was discovered and visited creating sections of the world for their use. Slowly over time the species changing and adapting to the region for what they could live in.
THe more industrial areas over the enturies giving rise to them as more of the Filar moved away leaving the Dala behind to work and live. The two lines continued to evolve down their paths cross breeding for a time in areas where both lives but most of the hybrids were unable to make additional offspring.
Never achieving dominance and never really making them seem to different the species coul;d live in the same areas cross habitating.. Looking on worlds for new things to escape the others whom they found strange for not being able to take semi solid forms like they could. A natural disagreement between the two gas forms but it wasn't a battle. Neither side had the technology to really harm the other.
So they drifted going onto ships that visited the worlds and finding nourishment as well as interest in their emissions as the pollution it gave off was like candy for them. Eventually finding their place on different worlds . Some hearing rumors and leaving messages for each other to follow to what was considered a holy world where pollution and everything was made for them.
That led them to Raxus where they could set up within the worlds many polluted piles of runoff. Hovering over it and appearing to the jawa's or salvagers who came there as ghosts to scare them away from their homes. There wasn't many of them but they could reproduce well enough but to just a finite amount on the world using the pollution to feed their young.
THe years piled more and more onto the world and continued to pollute the world. It wasn't in trouble to them but others tried to at times clean it up either to get to what was under all of the junk and trash or to just try and pick through the remains of what was there. It gave a few things and ideas for them while they acted like ghosts from the ships haunting them to scare things away.
More centuries passed and they found a way to settle onto the world making it their home as they saw jedi arrive and sith, some built things, some tried to settle it but all left eventually. Soon enough they were met by others who worked on the world and had a respect for the stuff there making themselves known to begin at least learning about some of the other cultures within the galaxy.
Over thew year Raxus changed hands many times among the sith, the jedi and other groups. The jedi offering and helping relocate as groups like the Bryn and the sith came to the world and would endanger not just it but all of the species on the planet. It went a long way and they found themselves on ships traveling to other parts of the galaxy.
Some settled on Atrisia aiding them with their efforts to get pollution out of the environment, airborne dangers from sith attacks and other problems across the commonwealth allowed some of the Dala to have work which allowed for biodomes that could house them and the rest of their species. SOme of them go around the galaxy sending credits back to build and maintain the biodomes of their people.

. So when we use the term breath, we are actually using a laymens term for two different things, used interchangeably. Physiological respiration (you breathing right now through your lungs) and cellular respiration (your cells taking bits of that air, breaking down ATP into ADP, and uses those bits to carry off the surplus of electrons). Just for knowledge, the reason our cells use oxygen is because the return on energy is the highest. But cells have been known to use things all the way down to sulfur, thus sulfur reducing bacteria, but I digress...
