Description: Originally based on a heavy weapons system for an armored walker, the DAK-6 was adapted to fit on a fighter for the Ghost Bomber. The original's overheating problem was overcome with the addition of flanking heat sinks but power draw remained a problem. A dedicated capacitor allows for about five seconds of continuous fire, but then requires several seconds for recharging between bursts. Failure to do so results in a reduced shield recharge rate as power is drawn away to the gun as well as a drop in firing rate of about 20% save on a serious fighter with power (and guns) to spare. Like an elite fighter. As such, short two-to-three second bursts are recommended.

Short bursts and heavy power draw, hefty limitations when most ships let their pilots hold down the trigger as much as they want, but in return you get power and a lot of it very fast. The DAK-6 was made to shoot out turrets on capital ships or punch through fortifications and melt shields away. And when paired with a quality targeting computer you're primed to take advantage of the extra range provided by those heavy bolts as the spread is only 5m/1,000m. Just imagine what that combination would do to another fighter or bomber that you got in the crosshairs, five seconds will be more than enough.
