- Powerful Shielding: The station itself is protected by exceptionally powerful shielding generated by no less than eight deflector bulbs situated at well-defended spots around the station's exterior, some of which are located on the other side of the planetary shielding the station links up with.
- Fighter Complement: More than three hundred assorted fighters, interceptors, and gunships are maintained within multiple hangar installations based around the central tower and the encircling outer ring, which can be quickly launched through the use of retractable hangar blast-doors.
- Low Mobility: The station's drives are slow and only serve to keep it in position above Kadavo even as the planet orbits on its axis beneath it. In the midst of battle, the station will be more or less a sitting duck in the crosshairs of enemy vessels.
- Minor Armament: For a military space station, the Custodio only possesses enough firepower to defend itself against anything smaller than a light cruiser and is totally outclassed when matched up against anything larger, like a star destroyer.
As Project Triumph progressed into its later stages of development, more and more materials were required in the construction of its outer hull and the production of intricate components for the superweapon's internal systems. Already a hive of slave labor, the Empire poured more credits into improving methods of controlling the influx of new slaves into Kadavo while simultaneously streamlining the process of moving mined materials into orbit.
Kadavo itself was a dwarf planet, exceptionally small in comparison to its larger celestial cousins. This made it the perfect location to build a series of planetary deflector shield projectors to blanket the entire world, keeping any slaves from escaping and preventing any would-be rescuers from sneaking onto the planet away from the watchful eye of the Empire's defense platforms. To facilitate the movement of slaves and materials, the Empire build a single shield gate right below the Yvarro construction yard.
Slave transports would deliver new chattel down onto the planet's surface, while their mined material would be collected by powerful Force Cylinders which projected force fields in the shape of a tube that could draw in inorganic material from collection bays up into Kadavo's upper orbit. The only way to bypass the shield gate passively was to pass through the space between the outer ring and the inner tower when the shield controllers were inert. In times of danger, the extendible shield controllers would be activated, closing off the passageway between the planet's atmosphere and the vacuum of space.
