Curse of Nefrahasias [OPEN]

Definitely something Coren could respect. Jorus doing Jorus things. He himself? Well, he wasn’t that unorthodox. He followed a set pattern and should he have been on a swoop, very well may have moved to come in like the riders of old, atop a steel horse, and running through the crowd. But no. The airspeeder he had been using was a bit too pricey for that. And there were the whole aspect of… mooks.

A good number of them. And with the long time friends of Jorus and Julius, not to mention other Jedi he had been well versed about, on the field, this was going to be one hell of a fight to repel whatever was trying to break from the Netherworld and to push it back. He wasn’t going in there unless it was a last resort. But Coren’s skill set didn’t always rely on the martial. He was a Warden and was known for more stalling tactics, and stunning his foes. But with a horde at their doors? He was going to go to the skill set he had.

Julius and Jorus were more martial, and Coren, for what a Starchaser he was, had some extra skills in the Force for dealing with groups like this. Lightsaber in his left hand, his pistol found his right and began taking shots. Surveying the land around him, he knew where he was going to go, where the high ground was, and where he could bring the Force to protect him, but first, he needed to get their attention, pull them in a light and make sure he was the target.

He had an idea or two. But first, it was going to be a blaze of rounds coming from his Power9 pistol.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Vanessa exited the shuttle and began to do what she normally did in order to get across a planet quickly - she bounced. Jumped significant distances from place to place - it was frustrating, but she was able to cover half a mile in only a couple of minutes, far faster than if she had ran. By the time she reached the rift, a small crowd had gathered. The blue hair she recognized, as well as someone she had met earlier during that mess the Ancient Eye had gotten themselves into.

"I don't suppose it's too late to ask what's going on with the rift this time." Her eyes looked at the spirit. "Let me guess... Long dead Sith Lord's come back from death itself in order to haunt the galaxy. I swear, it's getting extremely clichéd." She looked at the spirit. "What is your name?"

While he may have managed to weaken the specters it was clear that killing wasn't the intent. Or at least not the immediate intention, which also caused him to wonder a moment if you could kill that which was already dead. Wait, were they still dead or was this now considered them being undead? This is what he got for rarely showing up sober. His mind was a whirlwind of seemingly random thoughts and the recitation of hyperspace routes as well as many other seemingly disconnected things. This made for a wonderful mental defense against intrusion in his experience and that was something that was about to be really important.

The wave of darkness was rather powerful and the words shouted by the kissai'ari, were directed at him. Good. He felt the impact of the words against his mental shield, and felt as cracks began to form, concentrating further on the sound of the saber in his hand and the feeling of the two bloodsteel rings resting against his chest, he redoubled his efforts to prevent the spell from having its intended effect in full. It toook more concentration than he had hoped and he could feel the physical strain as well, but that mean little in the grand scheme, it had allowed Jorus and Julius to start forward as well as giving Coren an opening to fire a volley of blaster shots into the gathered spirits. He took the time to respond to the shade through telepathy.

Congratulations, you found me. Someone who isn't hiding and never was. You and your kind do not intimidate me, and a fool? Wow, I better retreat whenever I'm yelled at by an angry cloud. I personally don't mind that you used this rift, though my friends see it differently. I am no Jedi, nor am I a SIth. I simply study the Force in all its forms. so for me, this is interesting.

He relented on providing a distraction as he let himself regain his strength. Not for another shot at the Sith, but as a backup in case things went south. While allowing himself to recover and reinforce his mental barriers, he saw a female from emerge from the rift. For a pureblooded Sith, she was pretty. Actually just in general she was rather good looking, but he was pretty sure she would rather kill him than sit and talk about how she managed to return. Maybe that could be arranged later. Such rituals were rare to witness and the knowledge of how they were performed was intel that could prove invaluable in combating the Sith forces of this era as well. He turned his mental focus towards her.

As the angry cloud next to you could tell you I'm not here to try and send you back. I'm merely interested in finding out how this works. My comrades may not agree with my methods, but you will find I am neither dark nor light. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to how this ritual works later.

Deactivating the saber in his hand, Kurayami focused intently on meditation for the time being. What would come of this he did not know, but he might as well try a more diplomatic approach first. Which is why he used telepathy, he had no control over those who had already taken the offensive, and honestly he didn't want everyone here pissed at hhim, that would be a bad time.
