It was still a mystery to Milena as to how a gang of pirates had managed to get their hands on a number of rare crystals and gems. Moreover, they were not just any crystals, but crystals that were supposedly affiliated with the Bloodscrawl clan. For that reason, Milena’s mistress had dispatched her to seize them. As payment, the Fragment would be allowed to claim one of the crystals for herself, while the rest went to the Cult.

For all intents and purposes, Milena anticipated that it would be an easy task. Far easier than her mission to Batuu, which had seen her defeat a Knight of Ren in single combat. That accomplishment had raised the eyebrows of a few Witches within the Cult, but she would need to prove herself against yet stronger foes in order to truly earn their attention.

And so, after concealing her speeder bike under a nearby cliff, Milena quickly snuck her way into the outpost, her senses primed as she took stock of the area.

A few minutes later, after committing the outpost’s layout to memory, Milena attacked.

A fulminating burst of electricity exploded out from the electromancer’s hands before striking a group of six Raiders who had gathered around a small shuttle. With it came the thick smell of burning ozone as a sequence of thunderous cracks stemming from her electricity sent the pirates flying in almost all directions. All the while, the surging electricity boiled their bodies from the inside out, causing cybernetics to overload in such a visceral fashion that three of the Raiders were immediately set alight, left to suffer a gruesome, fiery death owing to being incinerated and electrocuted at the same time.

Almost immediately, the other pirates and mercenaries in the outpost registered the disturbance, causing a generalized panic to erupt as Milena drew her war blade and sprinted deeper into the camp. In the process, the electromancer bisected a hapless Trandoshan pirate in twain across his torso, causing greenish blood to splatter against her tight-fitting catsuit as her pink-hued features twisted into a bloodthirsty sneer.

Nathan had heard of these crystals also. In fact, he had arrived only ten minutes earlier and had been scoping out the place when the slaughter had started.

He felt...a piece...of a rotting evil he had once faced known as the Assembly. An evil, malignant sadist with a mastery of electricity. Near total.

Just a fragment of that beast was dangerous. It had to be dealt with immediately. He wouldn't exactly be trying to kill the pirates but he wouldn't get too broken up if some of them died in the process...

He saw her bright pink skin and...short height.

And he froze, expression unreadable beneath the mask.

He had faced this particular Fragment before. This was not the first time Milena the Piece Milena the Piece had been created by The Assembly. This Fragment in particular was ... dangerous...creative...

There had been a time when he had been injured, gotten amnesia...and Milena had almost turned him to the Dark Side and had ALMOST become his new Master...

Nathan opened fire right for Milena's head, hoping it wasn't the same fragment, or at the very least, not a copy of that fragment. He was certain he had obliterated it.

Milena had been his first true taste of the Cult. If not for his experience with Milena, Darth Phyre herself might have taken a LOT longer to become aware of his existence.

Already he was on edge. Already he has lost the advantage. He was unsettled emotionally in a way he wasn't used to. Milena had gotten closer than literally anyone ever had at successfully turning him. Her presence triggered all sorts of trauma he thought he had forgotten as he fired, trying to turn her into paste...

It was the eerie sensation of the familiar that tipped her off to his presence. He was an individual that Milena knew only through her dreams, his face an ever present feature of her slumbers. The Fragment had shut him out at first. However, after a time she had simply grown to tolerate his presence. However, the more often he appeared in her dreams, the more questions she had regarding his nature.

It was only a few weeks ago that she had realized who he was.

Demon,” Milena hissed as she brought up her left hand when the man—Morris—leveled his machine gun towards her head. At the moment he compressed the trigger, electricity shot forth from the tips of the Fragment’s manicured fingers, branching out to intercept and vaporize each of the bullets he fired at her, reducing them to ashes in naught but the flash of a second. In doing so, the acrid smell of burning ozone and metal filled the air, wisps of smoke accompanying each interdicted projectile in the process.

Simultaneously, electricity lashed out from her other hand in the form of a ten meter-long solid electric whip aimed to coil tightly around the Demon’s machine gun with the aim of tearing the weapon from his grasp. Positioning herself eight meters away from him, Milena intended to keep her distance, while also eliminating her opponent’s ability to engage her from afar.

Should she manage to achieve that, victory would be within reach. And perhaps thereafter, the truth.

“Who are you?” Milena growled, her features narrowed in equal parts contempt and focus as she channeled yet more power into her electrical manifestations.

Nathan went frozen as an expression much like a deer in headlights crossed under the mask as he fired, watching her vape his bullets and then force him to teleport out of the way of her lightning, but losing his machine gun in the process, dropping it before one of her bolts could strike it with him still holding it.

She wasn't quite the Milena he had met so long ago. The skin and hair tone were reversed now, and the one he had met didn't have heterochromia like this one.

But he knew the face, he mused as he reappeared behind a building in the outpost. There was not much different about the face. She was even the same height.

Lightning was devastating...but not as powerful as that of the Milena he had once faced.

She remembered him.

Partly, at least, given her next question

“Who are you?” Milena growled, her features narrowed in equal parts contempt and focus as she channeled yet more power into her electrical manifestations.

Who are you...

When The Deputy known as Morris Crownwraithe appeared before The Sorceress of Ossus, someday to be Magdalena Bloodscrawl , wearing her traditional garb, it was on the world of Tython. She had asked him to meet in one of its still lush, undisturbed valleys. Making his way here has not been easy. The core was chaos incarnate--

(Narrator laughs in 40K)

He had been her Ward for about a year at this point in his life. A silent teenager in black biker clothes, mouth and nose covered by a red bandana, sightless white eyes observing her passively through a mess of short black hair.

The world around them hummed with the Force, despite the terrors of the Plague elsewhere.

"Welcome, Morris." The Sorceress said in a warm voice. Morris didn't respond. The nature of how she had altered him had affected his neurological makeup so heavily that it was a strain for him to summon the will for more than a few short words.

"You have continually impressed me since I first put you into service. You pursue Heresy with a unique --"

(Cutaway of Morris violently strangling a Dark Jedi)

"--zeal" The Sorceress added, blond locks fluttering in the wind.

Morris, in the rare moments his mind wasn't dominated by the implanted religious fanaticism of both his own family, and the unusual rituals she had subjected him to, idly wondered where the creature had come from. What had created her. But he knew such musings were as useless as wondering if he would ever be fully human.

There was only the mission. Only the next heretic, the next stronghold of blasphemy to purge.

"I have a job for you, Morris. Your most pressing yet. You are too make your way to Onderon, where the Plague is strong. And there...I sense..."

The Sorceress trailed off into silence.

"I sense you will face your first real test as a Deputy...Go with the Light Side, boy. May you serve it well..."

The boy turned to leave and found she was suddenly in front of him, smiling.

"May the Force be with you, son..." The Sorceress said, handing him a small red kyber. The mostly unfeeling Deputy took it.

"When you don't know what to do. Look to this..." she encouraged...

The Deputy nodded. He still wondered what could create an abomination like her.

Many days later...

The boy washed ashore on Onderon, his stolen lambda shuttle sinking deeper into the lake it had crashed in. His black biker clothing was torn, and he had multiple lacerations. His bandana still covered his pale features, blind eyes rolling into his head.
..

Present day.

Nathan, understandably, didn't dare answer. You never EVER give someone like Milena the Piece Milena the Piece any ammo to work with.

He instead formed a spear of pure Force light and cast it at the monster's chest, firing ropes of green electric judgement soon after. It was telling that despite Syd Celsius Syd Celsius being fully bonded to him, she no longer bothered to try offering advice.

Now it was a question of voltages between them...
