OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Astronomical Location Name: K-20
  • Classification: Moon
  • Location: Terminus System
  • Rotational Period: ~26 Hours
  • Orbital Period: 18 Days (Around Crossroads)
  • Size: Medium (x2.1 Earths @2.8G)
  • Affiliation: Crossroads Republic Armed Forces
  • Population: Heavy
  • Demographics: ~10,500,000,000
    • 93% Human (Predominantly descended from Eriaduan, Caridan, Corellian, Hosnian, and Alderaanian colonists)
    • 7% Other
  • Accessibility: Trade hub and popular destination for refugee families and colonists.
  • Description:
    • A tapestry of different terrains, there is no single main terrain or environment on this moon, it possesses vast plains, taigas, tundras, and ice sheets at its poles (Its poles possess no large landmasses). Its tropical equatorial belt has thick jungles, savannahs, tropical white-sand beaches around coral atolls, volcanically-formed island chains, and in between it possesses temperate forests, rocky highlands, frigid rugged mountains, open tumultuous seas with chaotic tidal actions stirring up great amounts of nutrients and everywhere there is great masses of life. That's because the life on Crossroads Prime was brought there by its original Hosnian colonists who recreated the pre-city world's natural state on this planet.
    • This includes vast herds of livestock on carefully-managed ranches, modern space-efficient domed botanical farms, and well-managed fisheries. There is no heavy industry carbon footprint on Crossroads Prime due to the fact that all toxic emissions are prevented from being released. This provides Crossroads Prime with a huge bonus to its how attractive it is to colonists and refugees looking to start a new life. These colonists normally choose to live in one of the several hundred cities and major towns, connected by an ancient but efficient maglev train network and raised highways cutting across the land and over short stretches of the seas. Many of the cities are even on the water itself. These cities take their architectural inspiration from a mix of efficient Hosnian city-planning and Alderaanian graceful lines, along with an emphasis on appreciation for the natural world which was terraformed here by there being plenty of trees, public parks, and other plantlife in public spaces.
    • This moon and its cities were ripe for businesses and institutions of all types to spring up and sustain themselves, and now Crossroads Prime is fully self-sustaining, a veritable paradise in the storm in the far reaches of the Southern Outer Rim. However, large and powerful heavy industry does exist, with the planet being so far from the Core and Inner Rim heavy industry had to take root. Due to the heavy gravity and green politics of the government, industry has had to take to orbit, where all processes are more energy efficient and are connected via skyhooks to facilitate easy transportation of workforces, materials, and finished products. Skyhooks are also present to and from the cities where ships dock so they can efficiently come and go and avoid dealing with Crossroad Prime's gravity. It is from this network of skyhooks that a powerful and heavily-redundant shield projects from and encompasses the moon.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Tropical islands and jungles,
  • Alpine mountains, with ski shacks, resorts, etc.
  • Grassy plains with vast herds of wild grazers, ranches with livestock, and domed botanical farms
  • Large cities of tall skyscrapers and
  • Several hundred skyhooks of several sizes and types
  • Rich seas of fishes, squids, etc.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The moon was colonized thanks to the efforts of Hosnian environmentalist groups in 1240 BBY who sought to have their world's ancient natural state reborn elsewhere. So after attaining the financial backing of colonization companies from Alderaan, Carida, Corellia, and Hosnian Prime itself Crossroads Prime was terraformed and seeded with life from Hosnian Prime which no longer existed outside of zoos and gardens. This effort saw Crossroads Prime become a thriving colony that was soon powerful enough to become an independent Outer Rim world able to defend itself, feed itself, and govern itself. This newfound power saw it become solely responsible for the defense of its neighboring moons and the tibanna gas mines of the gas giant Crossroads itself. The success of the moon saw it gain more colonists from across the city worlds of the Core and Inner Rim, as well as its near-neighbor Eriadu, but it gained attention of a vile sort, namely pirates, cartels, and other dangerous entities who raided its ships, other colonies Crossroads Prime did business with, and its own mining operations. This meant that Crossroads Prime had to fight, and it developed a military machine of such power that the moon itself has not been successfully attacked in eight centuries. During the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War Crossroads Prime was heavily lobbied by both sides to join them, and in many cases threatened by the Empire, but its distance from Imperial power centers made it too costly of a gamble to attack and besiege while more pressing matters needed to be dealt with. During the following period after the Empire's fall Crossroads Prime remained a hub of trade but has thus far remained unaffiliated from the political powers of the galaxy, preferring to remain neutral, yet ready to fight anyone who sought to impose any sort of rule over them.

Hey this is a really good submission, and I love that you are trying to flesh out a system of moons for your faction base and such. This will bring a lot of lore to it. While what I am about to say may seem like I am nitpicking I do think it is an important distinction.

There are several places where you call the moon a planet. While I do understand what you mean, a planet submission and submitting a moon are two different things in the codex. If you could edit those references so as to be consistent that would be great.

If your intention is to create a planet here rather than a moon, then I would recommend that we archive this submission and you actually create a planet.

Tag me once you've made the edits, or if you'd like me to archive.
