Created Species: Why not use them?

Well, in the workshop, there are many people trying to create species: Some of them have a gigantic amount of thought put into them, and a rightfully approved. My question is, why do we not see more players using those species? The only logical reason I can see is not finding a good image, but then you could just contact the creator and ask if they found any other images like the appearance described. So SWRP, whats your answer?

Gilamar Skirata

The most important step is always the next one
[member="Sokrai Ronaro"] because people come to the board with a set idea of what they want to do/be able to do, often resulting in dead-end factions, outrageous amounts of personal tech/tech that are carbon copies of other faction gear, unused species, and then lost muse.
Personally, as a creator of two sentient species and several non-sentient, one of my species would just not be easy to RP as their technology is barely space worthy and as a result are stuck. The other one...
Well I'm just surprised no one has made a character with Garrus as their play-by :p

My reason is simple. I don't use a lot of characters to begin with. If I make a new one, it'll most likely be spur of the moment. I don't look at the approved species, or anything else really down there, often, if at all. I'm fine with what I got o/

Ghorumgash Khazund-Veranum

Runewarrior of the Clan Veranum (Chaotic Good)
Same with me, I made a Space-Dwarf species to go along with the Space-Elf Eldorai but in the end I just ended up focusing all my attention on my main [member="HK-36"]

But I just really suck on keeping up activity on my alt characters :p

Father of Cathar Kaiju
It could also be that some people who join, are not all knowledable of the species, and could be scared o trying to play a species that they know little to nothing about.

I didn't even know there was a list of approved species, because I don't visit those sections often.

Plus, despite having other characters (all of which are unused) the only one I actually post on is Voroll, who is human. Can never be too many humans in Star Wars.

In my opinion, these species are one of the best features in this board. Yes, I don't use all of the Factory-made species, but I try to keep an eye on them and when I find a cool one, I try to use them.

I think people just don't check the Factory before making new characters. I know some people (including myself) make only humans. They get boring, actually. That's why custom species are a powerful feature. :p

The only sentient species I've ever submitted (and likely ever will) is the Valkyri species.

Star Wars was severely lacking a Viking society. Not anymore, it ain't. ;)
I always`s took mandalorian`s as type of viking`s.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)

I think somebody compared them more to Mongolians actually, what with their culture being nomadic in their roots, plus they have those cute spherical huts.

And we need more Kel Dor, there's never enough Kel Dor with their smooth deep voices :p

[member="HK-36"] I can see where you`re coming form, on that, but the viking`s struck with out warning (basklis), Lived by a code, had the hardest armour at the time, and the best ship`s.

I've used a RacMeer before. The only reason why I am deleting it is because the creator of the race is not able to stay active. Real life and all. :)
