STRENGTHS
  • Scourge of starfighters: The CR125 Corvette was designed specifically to combat enemy starfighters, which it does quite effectively with its 8 Dual H-s1 Heavy Laser Cannons
  • Carrier: The CR125 carries a small complement of starfighters into battle
  • Field of fire: The positioning of the CR125's weapons allows the vessel to combat multiple targets simultaneously
  • Versatile: The CR125 is capable of fulfilling a variety of different roles with the Mahporeem fleet
  • Heavy armor: Compared to the CR90, the CR125 is more heavily armored
WEAKNESSES
  • Poor ship to ship combatant: Though the CR125 is highly capable against ships of a similar size, it struggles when facing larger vessels such as cruisers and Star Destroyers
  • Turbolaserless: This issue is even more apparent due to the removal of all turbolasers from the vessel's arsenal
  • Broadside: The positioning of the CR125's weapons makes the vessel most effective when engaging targets from the side. Anything in front or behind the CR125 can attack the corvette without having to deal with most of its weapon systems
  • Vulnerable hangar: The hangar on the CR125 is rather prominent, making it an enticing target for enemy ships
  • Slower: Compared to the CR90, the CR125 is slower to move and slower to turn
DESCRIPTION

During its production run, the CR90 Corvette was quite possibly the most common starship in existence, being used throughout the entire galaxy. Pirates, smugglers, mercenaries, planetary defense forces, rebels and even the Galactic Empire all found use for these rugged and versatile ships. Mahporeem was no exception, and had a large number of CR90s in its defense fleet when the Galactic Empire fell.

Being in desperate need of capital ships, Mahporeem made extensive modifications to these corvettes, outfitting them with forward facing hangars, redesigned engines and a host of different weapon systems, such as laser cannons, ion cannons and concussion missile launchers. Dubbed "CR125" Corvettes, these vessels quickly gained a reputation for being highly effective against both starfighters and other similarly sized ships, thanks to the broad layout of their weapon systems.

However, this came at a cost, as the removal of the CR125's turbolaser batteries made it far less effective against larger ships such as cruisers and Star Destroyers. Nonetheless, CR125s continue to play an important role with the Mahporeem Navy, and are able to fulfill a number of functions that allow larger ships to be better used elsewhere.
