Corvin Sarre
Blackstar
House Sarre occupies a modest corner of the Tionese nobility; its foothold within Kainite dominion is not glamorous in origin, won through military service across generations, and maintained through demonstration of worth. Corvin was born on Lianna, though this planet left little impression on him. His childhood was shaped by the doctrine of Eternal Rule, not traditions his family might've preserved out of habit. Etiquette came first, then history, followed by physical conditioning and weapons training. Threaded through all of this was a single axiom; that nobility was less a station than a contract. Privilege persisted only as long as it remained of use to the state. Service was already an obligation attached to the family name.
Force Sensitivity announced itself early, as it does for so many; reflexes that surprised his instructors and seemed to hold no other explanation. Recognition came quickly, and with that reassignment to the Flight Cloisters aboard the Malsheem. There, most of his adolescence was spent among cathedral hangars, instructors, and other prospective Baron-Knights. Ordinary schooling gave way to navigation, engineering, combat theory, Sith doctrine, and increasingly dangerous flight exercises. The Barony's instruction on the void was consistent and simple; it existed to be crossed, controlled, conquered. A starfighter was not separate from the pilot. It was the pilot, extended outward.
One lesson came harder than most at seventeen. Corvin broke formation during an advanced exercise to chase an opening against another cadet; he was certain he could close the engagement before absence could matter. And he was right, in the narrow sense. He got the kill, and felt good about it for perhaps thirty seconds, until his wingmate, left without cover, was driven from the exercise shortly after with a ruined fighter. The instructors ruled the entire flight a failure.
Elevation to Baron-Knight came at twenty; a personal achievement, and no small honor for House Sarre. He is more gifted in a cockpit than in most other disciplines the Sith value, and he has never found much reason to examine that hierarchy too closely. Hierarchy, duty, conquest, these are not ideas Corvin holds. They are the shape of things as he has always known them.
Strengths
- He possesses exceptional reaction speed, spatial awareness, and piloting instincts, all enhanced by his Force sensitivity.
- Years within the Flight Cloisters conditioned him to remain functional under extraordinary pressure.
Weaknesses
- The Kainite has given Corvin status, purpose, education, and opportunities to excel. Consequently, he has almost no personal reason to question the very system that created him.
- Given Corvin's bond to his starfighter, it extends beyond ordinary ownership. Damage or threats to the vessel could provoke reactions that even danger fails to produce.
