Conspiracy at 500 Rep.

500Republica-TPMHD.jpg

While doing a mass search of the network of tunnels covering the planet's surface. Agents discovered that multiple tunnels led directly into the subbasement of 500 Republica, a massive residence tower home to many Senators and the Supreme Chancellor. The Jedi council was immediately informed and decided to act. They dispatched two padawans to escort the Vice Chancellor to a secure location while they began to coordinate an investigation of the Dacho District they had traced information back to.

Sochi Was one of the Padawans chosen to escort the Vice Chancellor, the other being her fellow Padawan Vexander Graves, they had participated in a training mission to Obreedan before, but were on separate teams. They hadn't much time to talk, but with this minor mission they received they would hopefully have some time to socialize. They were chosen, because this was suppose to be a simple task. Find the Vice chancellor, quickly escort him to the secure location, until the investigation was over. Nothing was expected to go wrong.

She was given transportation to the base of the building, she stepped out clad in her Jedi robes which covered a black shirt, and brown, long-flowing skirt. Her lightsaber was attached to her belt along her waste. She entered the building at a moderate pace, once she came in she could see that everyone within we're in the process of evacuating the inhabitants. She remained stationary, awaiting the arrival of her partner So that they could proceed with their objective.

Yusan looked around the apartment and thought to himself about it, afterall this was a massive change in life style he was considering. What was he even doing, living in this over priced apartment was stupid and he had no idea why he was even considering it. With a quick turn he headed towards the lobby and thought about the quickest way back to his apartment during this time of day. After all he did all the driving and planning and had virtually no aides to speak of. Stopping in the lobby he decided to take a seat and check in on the local traffic reports he could access through republic channels and start planning his route home.

Choosen by the Jedi Council themselves for this task. It was hard to believe, he was doing something good since they were noticing him. Nevertheless, regardless of their views on him, he had to work hard on the task at hand and to remain focus in the Force and to watch his feelings closely.

Walking with a steady yet fast pace, the young man eventually reached the building where they would meet the Vice Chancellor Yusan Fenn, the one that he knew a lot from previous experiences since he was Senator of Echann.

Dressed in his darkbrown robes, the corellian reached the other padawan who would be his peer and colleague in the mission with his lightsaber on hand and ready for the escort. "Greetings Padawan Ru..." bowing slightly his head, Vex remembered the face of the padawan from another mission but didn't had the chance to share a few words... he really was not a man of many words but he would be talking a lot about the mission and the objectives more than anything. "...it is a pleasure to meet you. Vexander Graves at your service" the young man raised his head with a small smile in his face "Sorry for being late..."

Watching as the security staff evacuated many politicians, she remained in the base floors lobby. She was looking around the room examining everything that she could. Though she was tod there wasn't much to worry about, she still performed a visual investigation of her own. Looking for anyone suspicious and not following the security protocol. She was greeted, but she only heard the voice. She turned around to see Vexander walking in. She smiled, and her hands with in front of her interlocked. She was surprised she hadn't sensed his presence, it was most likely due to her surveying the surrounding area.

"Greetings Padawan Gtaves, its my pleasur to finally be working with you, on your team this time." She said softly and professionally. "I've heard of your many ventures, and your more than required for this type of task, I on the other hand was most likely chosen because I was stationed at the temple at the given time." She said following up her previous statement.

Ru always remained professional, it was something that she applied to most situations. She was a strict practitioner of the Jedi Code, and all of its tenets. Some might say that she over does it, but to her they are what makes a successful Jedi. She motioned with her hand, and turned her body slightly. "Shall we proceed with the said plans?" She asked softly.

Vexander saw at the young togruta who he has seen before, the politeness and the compliments related to his ventures... The young man was not aware that he was becoming that popular... but that showed that he was doing a poor job on his way to become a Shadow if that was the case.

With a small bow, he greated the padawan and proceeded to reply at the kind words used. "Thank you Padawan Ru, nevertheless, do not dimish your participation on this mission, the Council knows more about us and the task at hand that we know... they have their reasons for choosing you." getting back to his straight forward position, the young man smiled to provide a small sense of friendship, however, he inmediately went to his formal and serious demeanor "I think that we shall proceed with the task at hand" extending his hand at the entrance of the building, the young man continued "after you @Soshi Ru "

@Yusan Fenn @Circe Savan

His response was a reassuring one, she needed not belittle herself, especially not at this time. All the while they associated they were constantly being walked past by politicians, and Republica security. She caught his smile, in which she returned one. The air was friendly between them, and that would make for good team work. She reverted back to her professional demeanor and walked through the entrance and up the steps after he extended his hand. Ones stepping over the final step she looked again around the lobby, just inspecting before she made her way to the turbolifts. With the crowd, and security running around to secure everything it was certainly a mild case of chaos. One would have to maneuver themselves through to get to the location they sought. She did just that. Turning around slightly to see if Vexander was behind her, and pushed her way to the turbolift where she pressed the button to send for it. It would probably take longer with the security checks going on, but at the time she didn't think of that.

She turned around, and her back faced the turbolift as they had to wait. She tucked her arms into her sleeves and tilted her head down, with her eyes closed. Committing herself to a couple of seconds to meditation while she had the spare time to do so. She couldn't center herself the way that she wanted, too much ran through her mind. She couldn't quite put her hand on it, but something just didn't sound right. Amongst all the security here, said to be humongous, how could one go unnoticed while creating tunnels into a place so well guarded. She shook her head and looked up only to see the Vice Chancellor sitting right here in this very lobby.

"By the force..." She said quickly looking at Vexander, and quickly walking towards the Vice Chancellor. She approached him, he clearly looked busy, but for all they knew he was in danger and they needed to get him out of the building and to a secure location. "Excuse me Vice Chancellor you must come with us, your not safe. We must get you to a secure location. Please come with us?" She said softly, but firmly.

@[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Circe Savan"]

He looked up from his datapad and let his gaze fall upon the jedi that approached him, a smile growing as he looked at the man near her. "Hello again Mister Graves, how have you been. I do hope that you will tell me why i am not safe here?" He spoke in the same light voice that he always used, the same cheerful tone, and the same inquisitive, piercing, stare that he used on nearly everyone. "And why i am the only one being evacuated?" @[member="Sochi Ru"] @[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Circe Savan"]

Vexander saw the need to correct their words... perhaps they were being slightly paranoid at the situation.

Bowing his head slightly, the young man knew the Vice Chancellor before, when he was still the Senator of Echann. Still, now he was bound to provide more respect at the man based on his position within the Republic Administration.

Taking the lead for a brief moment, the young corellian proceeded to talk "Perhaps we are rushing into conclusions... at the moment there is an ongoing investigation in 500 Republica and we were sent to escort you... the severity of the issue has not been stated yet and therefore, the Council just tasked two Padawans to make sure you reach your residence without problems... I hope you do not mind." said the man politely expecting an agreement for them to perform their task.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Sochi Ru"] @Circe Savan

Hmm it would seem the two knew each other from previous encounters, that could work in their favor or against them. After the Vice Chancellor went on to ask questions he was deserving of an answer to Sochi was about to answer, but Vexander took the lead. It would seem since they had a connection Vexander was more perfect for taking the leader the moment; she was fine with that. Maybe her approach wasn't the best, she shouldn't have implied that he wasn't safe, because neither of them were briefed on the severity of the investigation just like Her fellow had said. In fact nothing could've possibly went wrong anyway. She allowed him to take lead while she took a step back allowing them to talk, hopefully with his familiarity they would be on their way quickly. She hadn't wanted to say, but she just didn't have a good feeling about all of this. It didn't make sense, but perhaps she was just over thinking everything. The nerves of being within the presence of such a high ranking official possibly made her go into her "everything has to be perfect" role. One she was prone to often. Nevertheless, she turned around slightly to see the security still performing their search.

@[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Circe Savan"]

Yusan smiled at the man and stood slowly, adjusting his clothing and turning his head towards Vexander. His hands crossed behind him, showing the two pistols hidden on the inside of the robes and his saber. "I think i can handle myself, but come along if you want Mister Graves and Miss..." He let his eyes rest on her while he thought about something and spoke again. "Might i ask your name miss?" @[member="Sochi Ru"] @[member="Vexander Graves"]

While she stood beside Vexander with her hands in front of her, interlocked, she was relieved to see that the Vice Chancellor agreed to participate. It put her mind at ease slightly, because now they could get a move on it, proceeding with the said plan. The sooner they made sure he was safe the more stress would be released from her poor mind. Nevertheless she took a deep breath and exhaled, focusing herself. This was unlike a Jedi to be thinking entirely too much, and not relying on the force to guide their path. She had to trust it, but she still remained cautious. When he stood up and he showed them both his personal arsenal of two blaster pistols, and his lightsaber she was surprised. She hadn't known the Vice Chancellor to be one to manipulate a lightsaber, using such would mean he was force sensitive. She smiled when he said he could handle himself, and judging by how armed he was, did he even require an escort? She looked up at him when he began to speak again, planning to tell them that they were both able to accompany him, but he was stopped when he looked at her and didn't quite know her name. Sochi bowed her head and responded, "oh forgive me sir, but I am Padawan Sochi Ru." She said softly and as professionally as she could make it. She then slowly raised her head and looked back at him once more.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Circe Savan"]

Vexander smirked at the sight of the blasters and the lightsaber, he knew about the Vice Chancellors skills due to his involvement in several operations and missions. And the fact that they were there was not related to the fact that he could take care on his own.

After @[member="Sochi Ru"] bowed and introduced herself, the young man decided to talk once again.

"Protocol Vice Chancellor... protocol..." Vexander extended his hand at the exit as an unspoken sign to take their leave "...besides, we might have a good chat along the way?"

Vexander honestly had no idea where the residence of @[member="Yusan Fenn"] was, nevertheless, he expected the politician to take the lead before going behind him. With a small glance at his Jedi comrade, the young man nodded at Sochi with a small smile not usual on him... not because he was not a happy man but because while he was on missions he usually remained with a serious demeanor.

That smile, was a reassurance that she didn't do anything wrong... afterall, he knew the man more than her and that would eventually allow him to interact further with him and she would catch up slowly.

After turning to the front and following the politician, the young man continued "I hope that it is not a long walk? I could order for a transport if you want"

@Yusan Fenn @Circe Savan

Yusan kept up his pace and turned his head to the side to glance at Vexander, a grin on his face while he spoke. "No no, its not that far, just a two hour walk if you jedi can handle such." He was obviously joking... well he was joking about the jedi part, his apartment truly was a two hour walk from the building they were just in. Its not a bad walk persay, just a long one and it was good for his health after all. "Any more questions or got anything to talk about while we walk." @[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Sochi Ru"]

Sochi felt more at ease when Vexander smiled at her to reassure that she was doing fine. Diplomacy of course was something she wanted to study into more once she advanced in rank so she would assume she was doing rather well. She to followed behind the politician, and as they all walked for the exit, she received information that his home was two hours away. Her first thought was to call for a transport, but when her fellow had suggested it, the Vice Chancellor had rejected it. Hmm it would seem he wasn't the snobbish type which was a great thing. That could turn this task into something really difficult. She walked down the steps besides Vexander, and behind the Politician. She sped up so that she could open the door for him. After they walked out of the building, she was right behind them. He had asked if there was anything they had questions about, or just anything they could converse about along the way. She of course didn't want to bombard him with political stuff, she assumed now wasn't the right time nor place. She was however curious about him being force sensitive, and not being apart of the order. She pondered asking for a while. She had her hands out in front of her, waist level, interlocked. And her robes, and long skirt moved freely, as she walked. "Excuse me sir, if I may, but did you choose to not be apart of the Jedi Order?" She asked softly. As they walked from the entrance of 500 Republica.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Circe Savan"]

Once that the politician asked about the further questions that they might have, the corellian Padawan just limited himself to caress his beard while he looked at the surroundings to make sure that they were not being followed "Negative Vice Chancellor, nothing to add..." the militaristic voice was still present... a normal trait on him... old habits are hard to forget.

While they walked further, his partner @[member="Sochi Ru"] , asked a sensitive question that honestly, never passed through the mind of the Padawan: Why he didn't join the Order? He knew that he was part of the Army of Light, and heard stories about his sessions in the training grounds in the Military Base stablished for it; but training there with a Force Sensitive wouldn't be the same as joining the Jedi Order and training with the extensive amount of knowledge and the great amount of mentors and teachers.

Remaining silent, the young man proceeded to listen to the reply closely to learn more while they were approaching at the 500 Republica.

@Yusan Fenn @[member="Sochi Ru"] @Circe Savan

He smiled as he heard he words, looking up at the sky while he walked. "Excuse me sir, if I may, but did you choose to not be apart of the Jedi Order?" It was an intriguing question indeed, one that he had expected to hear but not at this time. With a turn of his head he glanced around them, it didnt seem there were any intruding eyes or ears to him. "That is a question i have been asking myself miss, why didnt i join the Jedi. Well you see in a way i did and i didnt. I am not a member of the Order, but i was trained orginally by one of its members, nor did i ever plan to join the order. You see my reason is simple, when you look at me you see a man filled with hate at the same time calmness. Someone who has lost both parents to Jedi and Sith, someone whos parents were wronged by the Jedi." He laughed for a moment before continuing, his voice cheerful and tone light as he spoke. "Infact, up until the attack on the Senate, i wanted every one of you dead or worse. But you see, i am filled with too many emotions, corrupted by too many desires, and i react in such violitile ways that your order would never even accept me. I am not apart of your order because i carry my hatred and use is to push my goals, that is why i did not choose to join your order. Though his voice was cheerful every word he spoke was serious, his eyes rested on her while he spoke with his head turned back in their direction. A smile returned to his face though as he spoke again. "Also, no need to hold doors for me, im not a pompous greedy pig like my associates. Anything more to ask on the subject of the force, ill answer anything you wish with the truth after all, it passes the time." @[member="Vexander Graves"] @[member="Sochi Ru"] @[member="Circe Savan"]

So, the Vice Chancellor was his target, it wasn't that he expected more, or less, but he didn't feel overly impressed. Perhaps it was the guard he had with him, didn't seem up to standard. As he watched the group from afar, the Sith Assassin looked to the man beside him, the only other person he'd needed for this mission, or wanted anyway, IC-234, and Imperial Commando sniper. He couldn't have brought more than one man anyway, the operation was extremely clandestine, top secret with black ink on top type stuff. None of it mattered though, @[member="Yusan Fenn"] was officially marked for death.

@[member="Sochi Ru"]

She would understand his response. Indeed it was a good one. His answer would be that he uses his hate, to carry his goals. Though she respected him, and his position it was a answer she couldn't relate too.nevertheless she had received what she asked for, and she hoped she didn't come off a disrespectful. She fell back a little, now she was walking again side by side with Vexander. Her hands were in front of her placed just below her stomach, and interlocked. She had no further questions at the time, she would now go back into her professional demeanor as only the Vice Chancellors escort. Now she would ponder, thinking that just because he felt hate,a nod used that as a conduit for his goals, didn't make him a bad person. He was still a politician after all, one with obviously a very big following, and much support. So it wasn't as if he was corrupt, and using the republic to further his own goals. Hmm.

@[member="Marcus Faust"] @[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Vexander Graves"]

Meta knew the way the world worked, the vice chancellor would be exposed today and with that there way a 50/50 chance of assassins showing their degenerate hides up on the Jedi radar, so Meta would be on alert. He already had an eye on the two Jedi with the Vice and noted all the vantage points, it was just a task of narrowing them down to one. That way he could kill whatever was there before a accident occurred.

Politician... but different than most... a rare trait indeed. Still, Vex felt that he knew and that he had shared enough missions with him to have an idea of his commitment towards the Republic; basically, his ideals matched those the young man had and for that reason they were both helping the Army of Light in different areas... but with all their might.

The young man kept walking but without any comments. Due to his personal involvement and his existing ties with the Order, he liked to be kind of secretive about his dealings with the Army, not that he was embarrased, but it was actually because he was dealing in two different areas within the Order that needed his silence as a weapon... Also, he was not very fond to talk a lot.

Nevertheless, there was one thing that Vex was wondering and decided to ask: "Vice Chancellor Fenn, do you know anything about this current investigation? We were not told anything... were there any recent assasination attempts at politicians?"
