Rebellion Conflict at Kuat - Too Many Cooks Edition [The Grayson Imperium vs The Republic]

The ground beneath her feet rumbled ominously. Fable grabbed the holotable until the movement ceased, allowing things to begin to return to normal. What was happening now? There was no reason for such seismic instability until security chatter mentioned some sort of Sith was creating earthquakes? Was that right? She hadn't even thought it was possible. More and messages were coming in, all of them marked urgent. Yet there was a crisis here too. Fable needed more assistants. Prioritize.

First thing, she needed to be safe and functioning. It was impossible to do anything else if that failed. As much as she hated to cave into weakness or mistrust. But that was before there began to be earthquakes. She turned to Venandi. "In this case, I agree. This building doesn't seem designed for earthquakes. Your Majesty, is there somewhere hardened against seismic activity? The palace would be excellent if it can survive an earthquake. "Individuality serves nobody," she replied, almost absent-mindedly to Alwine. "Only by working together can we make things better. Did you pull off everything today alone? "

She finally had a channel to the Defense Secretary. "Mr. Secretary! What are your flag officers doing over Kuat? I gave them instruction-"

"Civilians don't give orders to military personnel in active hot zones, Ambassador-Senator," the reply came back from the balding man in a suit. A light flashed on his monitor and his chair spun around.

"We are a civilian-run government, Mr. Secretary," Fable's voice was cool and sharp as she gathered her belongings for the evacuation. Wherever they were going next. The palace, she thought. "If we wanted the admiralty to pick who and where to fight, we'd have a military junta. I'm sure the Sith Empire could always use such militant-oriented ministers."

"I apologize. It will not happen again." Though the hologram was distorted, his face tightened and the adam's apple bobbed for a moment. " Admiral Stazi is... incapacitated. Apparent heart failure according to medics. Passed command down the chain."

Fable give him the most withering glare. "Inform them to cease fire and stand-down from the Imperium and Kuati forces. Or I will ensure that your career is very, very short."

"Of course, Ambassador, I will relay the message."

Already, additional security details were converging on the door and hallways, while an armored speeder was brought up to a side entrance. She nodded to the commandos on the security detail. "Let's get moving before the building comes down on our heads."

Another ding on her comm. This was from OMI. "Report?" She asked, pressing her hand against her head.

"Ma'am, we have a problem-"

"We have a multitude of problems. Be specific."

"Yes, ma'am. We started looking into increased activity patterns, but it turned out to not be necessary. Take a listen." The audio band shifted to a collection of a multitude of voices and transmission qualities. All of them were the same. Ships descending on towns and planets across the breadth of the Core in a highly-coordinated assault across vast swathes of territory. "We found out who was behind this entire series of events."

Fable's heart sank as she heard the many messages, while they were tied up here. With hostile activity on Alderaan and whatever the feth was happening on Kuat, they couldn't redirect their focus easily. "Thank you. Do the best you can. May the Force be with us all."

"May it so indeed, ma'am." The message winked out as Fabled pressed herself against the wall next to the door, waiting for the guards to usher them to safety. She pulled up the recordings of the distress signals.

"Imperator, I think you're going to want to hear this." She held out the device and pressed play. "We have more problems than whatever the Sith are doing here on Alderaan. Is there anything you can do about the dark siders on the planet?"

More talk with the woman. This wasn't exactly going very far. She was surprised they hadn't hauled her away from the senators to question her keeping her here was even more of an issue of threat. Because people were being distracted. Tasha herself was trying to make sure the Museum was safe. Maou Maou accused Alwine Daye Alwine Daye of terrorism, which was an entirely fair accusation. Given the situation, and her arrival. She really had no grounds to claim peace on other than not directly attacking, but by the same reasoning neither would a commander have any grounds when they sent troops into combat. The fact she was a coordinator and not a participator, even though she was technically at the moment regardless of success, meant nothing. Fortunately it seemed leaving this place was the choice they were making.

She glanced at the woman, tempted so heavily to speak until she finally did, "You approached with a weapon in an area in which you were not allowed because assassinations are entirely plausible, while also spouting a political agenda but not being an official party. Had you left your weapon, you might have had slight grounds. But you don't."

Had to make an edit bellow so the paragraph is now changed a little.
From there she made one last movement to ensure a pillar was in a good place, before trying to assess the situation and see what the problem is she'd have to deal with next. There was certainly no lack of surplus at the moment it was more just where she needed to go.

It was all a bit much at the moment the building was shaking and there was no way at the moment to protect the artifacts within it. Some could never be replaced. She shook her head, "the people in the streets, we must see to their safety."

Then as if lightning had struck her she remembered Theo was out there. She could hear Fable Solborne speaking about the Kuati forces to P Placeholder 0128 but she could also hear Alwine Daye Alwine Daye .

"Enough." This was Alderaan and these people were guests here, " Maou Maou I suggest you get the delation to safety I would not have it said that the representatives died on Alderaan." She walked to keep her balance, "Captain Lester"

Faith called for the Captain of the Guard, "Call the hospital, and Sanctuary City we will need assistance here in the Capital. Get our responders into the streets to help anyone leave. Evacuate the areas that show the least structural integrity" She wanted to say find my son but she knew that now was not the time.

She turned again to Alwine, "When Alderaan is quiet again we can talk but my priority is the safety of my people." She looked around, "I suggest you all depart, Captain Lester with me." She nodded, "The space port is close, the palace is close and Sanctuary City is on the coast I will ensure you have clearance to get to either. Are you all set with your plan on where you are going?"

Too much time with words, she couldn't stand by and watch the Alderaani run from another danger

There was a deep rumbling beneath his feet looking down he tried to figure out what was happening. Then the buildings began to shake, "GET AWAY FROM THE BUILDINGS!!'

Theo had not time now to banter with someone over the goods and bads of the word Republic, "GET OUT OF THE CITY HEAD INTO THE GLARUS VALLEY" It was open land it would lessen the risk of being crushed by a building. He moved through, "Sargent Colter....get some transports into the city let's get the people out!"

The Sargent began calling for units to bring in the transports.

Theo looked around if it wasn't one thing it was another.

The Force was a mysterious thing...It moved through every lifeform in the Galaxy. Even the Vong, which ancient stories told of their entire species being cut off from the Force, had found it once again. And now she found herself in this confusing place. As she neared however she realized why the Force had brought her to this place. It wasn't the diseased Darkness she felt in the space above them, nor the tumultuous chaos of the space battle. No. She was here to save not one, but two Jedi. Her vessel landed, its repulsors sending gusts of wind over the grassy hill. Satisfied with her landing she smiled at the pilot droid beside her as she stood and wrapped her black hooded robes around her in one fluid motion.

"L3, prep the med-bay, both tables and get the guest rooms ready, in that order. We will be having guests aboard for some time." The saucer-headed droid sighed and shrugged before trundling off deeper into the old freighter mumbling something about organics and blood mites.

As she stepped onto the field and the sun struck her face she wondered what had happened between to Jedi, so powerful in the Force that they would fight one another. Maybe she had been away from it all for too long. Was another schism occurring? It was of no consequence to her. Making her way first to the human she got to him just in time to hear what the foolish young man probably thought would be his last words. She smiled tenderly and knelt beside him.

"No my child, it is not yet your time." She gently placed her hand on his arm and closed her eyes, opening herself up to the Force. It flowed through her. Though she didn't know this man she tried to think of the love she had for the Force and the ones she had lost. It was difficult though and the dark, it called to her as she tapped into this power. She struggled against the pull, its seductive power nearly distracting her from the task at hand. To pull this man from the brink. But as the flashes of her torture began to bubble up she broke the connection, gasping for air. The man was much better off, even stable, but would still need medical attention and soon. Seela clutched her heart with her right hand and looked down at her left as sparks of energy jumped from tip to tip. Shaken but not any less determined in her mission she stood and made the short walk to the Arkanian Jedi and sighed looking at his injuries.

"Both such young fools," she said before kneeling and going through the same process again. This time she managed to bring the power to heel, the light winning out against the inherent pull of the Dark. Seela herself was no healer. She didn't have the finess to stitch fibers and bone back together like some healers she had seen in her lifetime. Gashes, cuts, maybe even a lightsaber burn she could mend on herself and with great effort on others. But the miracles of true Force Healing eluded her. What she did have was the ability to see the shatterpoints of a being and piece them together or pull them apart. It was her blessing and her curse. Inherently a selfish ability tied to the Dark she had managed to find a way to use it in the Light though with great effort for those she did not know or hold a connection with. She rarely used the ability, save for when she felt the Force calling her to action. But it was not always this way.

"Memories will have to wait for meditations," she said, standing with a satisfied, if not weary smile on her face. Her brow was slick with sweat and her hands were shaking with exhaustion. "And after I've spoken with the pair of you." With her right hand she raised her hand in a gesture. The Force focused and her will lifted the Arkanian Jedi into the air, gripping him so as to not cause any more damage or re-open the wounds she had managed to heal. As she walked passed the other Jedi she did the same with her left and levitated the pair back onto her ship. The ramp closed behind them and L3 met her with a pair of medical hover gurneys.

"That one," she said pointing to Lannik, "Needs bacta. Get him into the space suit. The other, will do with geltabs until we can stop somewhere to get fresh bacta for the second suit." L3 just shrugged.

"No rust off my bolts," he said and began tugging the pair to the medical room. She folded her arms just below her chest and shook her head. L3 always acted like that but she knew he cared. Once the pair were situated the aging freighter lifted off from the ground and jetted off into space, avoiding the conflict and jumped into hyperspace.

Unabated, the Jedi's lightsaber swung through the air to cleave through the exposed neck-meat of the Dark Being. For a moment, all activity and sound ceased as the Sith's lightsaber deactivated and the body began to crumble to the ground. The head detached from the neck right where the lightsaber had cut clean, the mask slipping from the Being's features as it did. Unceremoniously, the Sith's body fell to the ground without another word, crumbled in a heap as the head and mask bounced away before rolling and clattering to a stop.
The Mask glowed brightly with dark energy before shattering like a porcelain plate, a brief detonation of the same shadowy energy suffusing the environment around them before also dissipating. What remained was the body of the Dark Being, bleeding and bruised as the same dark fog that billowed out from the severed arm now again took hold of the flesh. Black and red tendrils of shadow exuded from the corpse and disappeared into nothingness meters above the body, leaving behind a misshapen body that had drastically reduced in size.
It had originally been a Pantoran, the body broken and mutilated to expand far beyond its physical limitations to resemble that of the Sith Emperor. Now that the dark magic that had enthralled it had been broken, the body rapidly returned to its normal dimensions far too violently. Skin sagged where muscle had been torn apart in the transformation, the bones consumed by abnormal growth and artificial extension. Though the same afflicted the Being's face, if one possessed enough knowledge of past modern Jedi, they would find that the face belonged to Pantoran Jedi Master Kai Kriel. Master Kriel had once been a part of the Galactic Alliance's New Jedi Order before joining the then Outer Rim Coalition and had been presumed dead after the Sith Empire's razing of Pantora.
But now the implications of his disappearance had far more sinister meanings with his appearance on Alderaan, for what could the Sith Emperor possess that allowed him to enthrall the minds of Jedi Masters and make them into puppets?

A Light Shining in Darkness
The Jedi Master rolled over with exhaustion, dragging himself to his feet as he glanced down at the broken carcass of a Jedi he once knew. Not closely - but enough that striking him down, even in his condition, couldn’t help but sting ever so slightly. He swallowed, wiped blood from his forehead, and kneeled to rest a light hand on the head he severed.
There is no death… There is only the Force…”, he repeated - though somehow he knew it was more for himself than the man that lay there.
On some level, he imagined he had passed long ago - that this avatar of destruction was no more meat and flesh than it was a Jedi Master’s beating heart and soul. Even still, the fact that he was overtaken - turned into the gross messenger of a Sith at all was of poor taste; of dangerous implications. His eyes closed as he let those final thoughts settle - He’d have to bring this to the council.
His eyes turned back to Muad Dib Muad Dib , a lightsaber still burning in his hand.
Have you come to fight too?”, he said as he swayed ever so slightly on his center of balance.

"Interesting …"

He had sensed a possible danger and had acted to make sure the unseen destruction would fail. And yet it seemed his worry was ill founded. The Sith Lord deflated and morphed into some figure that lay crumpled on the ground like a used soiled tissue. So this is what Sith snot looked like. It wasn't pretty. The rolling smoke began to dissipate from the body while flesh pooled into a puddle of excess skin.

Rising from his kneeling position, Muad plucked his beskad from the ground and let his power fueled barrier fade away. Slowly he circled the dead to come nearer to the Jedi who turned to face him with lightsaber at the ready. A question that wavered nearly as bad as the Jedi did on his feet caused Muad to chuckle quietly.

"Aye, I'm always ready to fight. But today you are not my enemy for as long as you mean no harm to Alderaan or her people. As for what you did here … consider this a token to do so as you will."

Slowly he sheathed the beskad before stretching out his right hand. The pool of power he had drawn out for use in protection was offered to the Jedi. A flowing warmth of power that tricked then rushed over the wounded master. Muad did not push the energy in attempt to heal, yet he saw the lines of Shatterpoint, the nexus of pain and injury, and poured the power there to cool the raging flesh. An offering of energy for the wounded man to feast on. Or not.

"Nourish yourself. Find that vaunted Jedi peace and self control. I would not see an ally of Alderaan fall, Jedi or not."

He needed to release the power or else it would consume him from within. The Jedi would do in this regard. Slowly he circled the body and crouched, carefully studying the fallen puppet. Or more like a marionette it would seem. The Sith's words echoed in his mind, riddles to be deciphered at a later time. His hand hovered over the stump of the dead before rising. The remains of the Phobis Device slipping into a pouch at in the kama.

"What do you know of this body? And the power that it commanded … or perhaps, what commanded the body?"

He had walked around and knelt once more collecting and rising before turning back to the other man. He was a curious enough specimen of a Jedi.

"No Jetiise. There is Life. There is Death. There is Chaos."

Everything that could go wrong had.

Cedric took it all in stride, remaining silent as those around him decided on their next course of action. He'd already settled on his. The senator's words were met with a confident nod. "My people will focus on dealing with the Sith and their sycophants. They were always the enemy here," it seemed the negotiations were over, or postponed at the very least.

Didn't matter so much to him, he was needed elsewhere. "Protect the Republic's emissaries @Dak," he ordered as he strode past the ancient droid. "I'm going to go see to our Sith problem personally." A hand was momentarily placed on the droid's shoulder before Cedric went on, the squad of Essonians that had been guarding him filing out of the room in his wake.

Whatever the fate of Kuat and Alderaan, forcing out the elements of the Sith would always be top priority. Squabbles over territory and allegiance were just going to have to wait.

Wyatt didn’t stop it - and while it wasn’t the most effective form of healing, it at least gave him enough strength to stand on his own two feet. He breathed slow for a few moments as he enjoyed that calming sensation, that what he had done had saved the city - as difficult as it was. Most of the city was likely recovering from the effects of the Phobis Device now - but the reason why it was done in the first place still eluded him.
No, only that it carried a darkness I haven’t seen before.”, he idled, watching Muad collect the device;
I… appreciate your healing, but I must ask for the remains of that device. The Jedi Order will investigate these things - and decide what happened here; from the body, to that device.”, he said with a few heavy breaths.
Despite his ‘demand’, his lightsaber deactivated in that slow ‘shhhhhrrrt’ way they did. His eyes never left Muad, however;
If the Sith are behind this - we must find out how, and the why.”

Scherezade deWinter

Jai shook his head. Granted, she did say she didn't really bring anyone in. At least they had the cheese, and Mandalorian couldn't help but chuckle. As she offered him some cheese, Jai'galaar lowered his hood, and removed his helmet before re-raising his hood. He clipped the helmet to his belt before grabbing a cheese cube and tasting it. Scherezade then began to note how she thought there would be more happening on Kuat. Jai just shook his head, chuckling a little.

"A lot of places you'd think would be insane don't end up being that. Concord Dawn. You'd think being a Mando'ad world would make it fighting heavy, but for the most part it was pretty peaceful. I still remember my mom teaching me how to train different creatures. Strill, Varactyl, Nerf. You name it. She even had a Shriek-Hawk that couldn't be released." He sighed a little, looking around. "Then again, for a place with fighting above it's surprisingly peaceful."

The mind a tornado. Whatever was going on with him now was not becoming abundantly clear for all to see. It was distracting. Not just for others possibly but also for Kezeroth himself. Pushing past the mental pains, the darkside surged from within with the intent to purge the effects of this contagion within. Filling every nerve, muscle fiber and brain tissue a cosmic flood bolstered within the armored Giant giving him a new found burst of energy, but only for mere seconds. A numbing sensation stuck him dead in his tracks. His eyes traced the movement of Alyson Halle Alyson Halle counter attack. A piece of rather large rebar trailing to sweep his legs. By this time kuats power for this sector was already returning causing Kezeroth to fly up apon impact, float and then falling to the ground below with a shaking thud. An audible grunt escaped his gullet. His voice rather sickly in sound and guttural. The atmosphere had returned to normal. Gravity had once again stepped into view.

Even with this change though he felt nothing. The rebar, the impact to the ground that shook his body. He should of felt something..anything! Focus subsiding his natural awareness felt off. The room with the rattling of metals, vibrations, the heartbeats around him that he felt as his own, mere background noise along with the whispers. Within a fissure felt as if it had opened. Wider and wider. Unannounced to him there was something growing inside him, a sensation or feeling that he had never known before.

Hunger. Gluttonous hunger. Squirming within his veins to the root of his source. With a twist, the neck of the Gen'dai shot up positioning the head to gaze at the woman. A black liquid leaking to the floor. Thick, gel like and wet. Trailing from within Kezeroths own helmet. This small detail was so minor in his own mind that he hardly could comprehend how much he was salivating. He felt good. No. Better than good. Fantastic! Ecstatic! Euphoric. The universe as he knew had opened up to him. Profound with knowledge he felt as if he knew everything. The black temple within the center of his mind and being vibrated with sensations that could closely resemble a laugh. At first it was mocking but as the milliseconds past, it changed. He changed.
" This...Mmmmm." He uttered aloud with a gurgling sound echoing within his helmet. The sound was followed by another faint sound. A slurping and chewing of thick visceral flesh. Raising his head up more, a piece of grey muscly flesh fell free from an opening between the neck and head region of the armor .It fell with a flop! Meat hitting the metal floor. Almost immediately it began to squirm and move as if to return to its larger origin.

It was his bottom lip. He was... eating himself.

The sounds of the feast only stopped with the Gen'dai darting forward on all fours toward the Jedi. A shriek of unnatural pitch blaring from his throat with thick vibrations. He sought to pin the Jedi against the nearby wall with his body. He sought to consume.
