Intent: To develop an anti-droid weapon for use by the Republic.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Emeritus Industries
Model: Cone-Arc Gun
Affiliation: Republic
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: Diatium(electronics, tips), cast-plast(frame and structure), rubber(handguard and grip)
Classification: Other
Size: Handheld
Length: 0.4m
Weight: 4.5kg
Ammunition Type: power cell
Ammunition Capacity: 10 seconds of consistent fire
Effective Range: 15m
Rate of Fire: fully automatic
Special Features: anti-droid, ionizing
Description: The Cone-Arc Gun is the latest in anti-droid technology. A quartet of diatium tips stick out of the front of the weapon, wrapped around the weapon's power generator. When the trigger is pulled, multiple electrical arcs are formed, rapidly reaching a range of fifteen meters before disappearing. Two arcs are formed every millisecond, and these reach the maximum range before breaking up as new once replace them. The result is a glowing pseudo-cone, more like a teardrop, that appears semi-solid like a force field.

Upon contact with a human, the cone of ionized plasma will cause significant burns, and possibly even electrocution, similar to someone standing too close to an electrical generator at a science fair. The resulting plasma cone-arc is also effective against droids, as arc casters and plasma disruptor-type weaponry have previously demonstrated. A chief difference, however, is that the plasma arc for this weapon is teardrop-shaped, and will not land directly on target when closer than fifteen meters to the enemy.

Considering the utilization of a single 1000 ohm resistor, that would be 1 mega-amp.

Lightning, being something we don't permit to be used in submissions (such as lightning guns and the like), carry between 700,000V and 1.2 gV of electricity, and there are only 30,000 amperes in the average bolt of lightning. This is more than three times more lethal than a bolt of lightning already, with far more electrical power output as well.

The lethal amperage for humans is between 0.1 and 0.2 Amps, or 100-200 mA (Milliampere), this has about 10,000,000 times that in terms of amperage and would immediately kill anyone or anything that comes in contact with this, and based on the conversion of volts and amps into wattage, this has such a large degree of wattage I am getting scientific notation as an answer (1x10^15). Not only would this immediately electrocute anyone who would come in contact with this to death, immediately, it would cause such severe heat that their body would more than likely be immediately vaporized.

To put this into perspective, the total electrical output of the entire human race on Earth is measured in terawatts, which is 1000x less than what this produces after 1 second of use. By producing 1 mega ampere and 1 gigavolt of electricity you are creating one petawatt of energy every second, which means in about a minute you encompass the entirety of humanity's historical energy production and use. To further draw comparisons, the sun (our sun) radiates solar energy so immense that when it reaches the earth it is approximately 174 petawatts of solar energy, which means in about 3 minutes you will have successfully generated more energy than the sun (over Earth) radiates over Earth following every second of use.

This will need to be extremely lowered in all areas, though the range is fine, otherwise this will be denied.

The power has been reduced significantly. If you could tag me when you get back to it, would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I would suggest not trying to overload the droid with electrical current and go for creating a plasma arc with electricity (electricity running along two parallel coducting rails/rods creates a plasma "arc", which is how an Arc Caster works) and utilizing that as it does what this weapon is looking to accomplish with far more realistic effects.

Here are a few canon examples:
