OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: ~480 Standard Years
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
  • Species: Sangnir Highblood (Near-Human)
  • Appearance: Vascaldi is a tall, muscular man rarely seen without armour. The sickly yellow of his eyes is reminiscent of the Sith, but no trace of Force Sensitivity surrounds him. His face - and indeed much of his body - is horribly scarred in a truly strange way; long lines make his greyish skin resemble grated metal. Rumour has it these scars were caused by a Mandalorian flamethrower or a pool of acid or the Gulag Plague.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Commander Vascaldi
  • Loyalties: Greystone Mercantile
  • Wealth: Moderate; minor share in CISLO.
  • Notable Possessions: Beskar Battle Armour and the Cantankerous Courser (Voidhuntress).
  • Skills: Masterful warrior (martial arts and various weapons), expert pilot, experienced commander, decent mechanic.
  • Languages: Basic, Huttese, Sy Bisti, Meese Caulf, Minnisiat, and the Sangniri Elder Tongue. Sign language, emphasis on battlefield use.
  • Personality: Commander Vascaldi is a cold-blooded professional wholly dedicated to a personal crusade against lawlessness. Killing pirates is one of the few true pleasures that remain for the old man, though failure - especially being tricked - can draw forth his anger. Vaslcaldi has a tendency to stand eerily still when no immediate action is needed; he is allegedly able to smell fear and sniffs accordingly.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Heavy Blaster Pistols and Galvanic Whipblades.
  • Combat Function: Vascladi moved with speed to rival a Jedi and the brutal efficiency of an alien warrior with centuries of experience in the art of bloodshed. He habitually seeks out and eliminates the weakest link in any given engagement; Vascaldi is a firm believer in a doctrine of fear, his every move aimed to divide, demoralise, and decimate. He has little regard for most of his 'allies' - subordinates are tools to be expended.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • Ancient Might: Vascaldi is a battle-hardened veteran from a physically powerful species that grows stronger with age. Over the years he has fought and killed more sentients than many meet in a lifetime. Centuries of experience have honed him into a nearly peerless warrior.
  • Fiery Demise: Vascladi is flammable, even by Sangnir standards; his scarred flesh burns hideously if struck by blaster bolts or fire.
  • Unpleasant: Vascladi is a thoroughly unpleasant individual - he is capable of inspiring fear in subordinates, but rarely loyalty.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Vascaldi, the Fiend of Florn and Butcher of Bespin, is the ruthlessly efficient commander of CISLO's Anti-Piracy Force. A man of few words and gleeful bloodshed, this pirate hunter is said to have been a bounty hunter, a mercenary, and even an Imperial officer. As a bounty hunter, he made a name for himself by exclusively pursuing bounties wanted dead or alive and handing them in dead nearly without exception.

He is known to be old, old enough that he must have been around while the Gulag Plague was contagious - whether he was lucky to avoid the vile disease or lucky to survive it is unclear. Vascaldi himself seems unwilling to elaborate on that part of his life, not that he is talkative about the rest.

What is known is that the beskar from which his armour is made was earned in combat, not bought; as a bounty hunter, he hunted down a slew a Mandalorian raider of some renown, claiming the man's armour for himself and handing in his mangled head as proof of elimination. Despite this, he has no grudge against the Mandalorian people - on the contrary, their warriors are counted among the rare few he seems able to respect.

How exactly his personal crusade against pirates, bandits, and their ilk began is a matter of some speculation. Some speculate that the loss of some long-dead lover hardened his heart while others are more inclined to take him for a former pirate marooned by those he trusted. The Shadows and their ilk are perhaps the only ones who know for sure, having headhunted the Sangnir to found and lead CISLO's Anti-Piracy Force.

Under Vascaldi's ruthless leadership, examples are made - those who kill CISLO personnel are themselves killed. Painfully.
