I hope you all had a safe and wonderful holiday!
As most of you know the Codex and Factory have been closed since early December 2019. As of today, we're re-opening our doors so you can submit once more to your heart's content. Thank you all for your patience during this time, especially, for the extension after the site migration. Now, down to brass tacks.
Most of the Codex has remained the same, though, we've made some changes for the sake of clarity. I'll list some of the highlights below but I would recommend that you take the time to read the Codex Standardized Rules/Templates thoroughly before hopping back in. If you ever need help please feel free to post up a thread in the [Codex Discussion Forum] or reach out to a member of Codex Staff. You can do this through Board DM or even the [Codex Discussion Channel] on Discord.

Template Changes

- Some templates held inconsistencies in wording. They have all been edited [where applicable] to match when they should.
- Every template now has a "Permissions" field so that proof for utilizing the technology/items/etc of others can be listed easily.
- Image Credit now has an Image Credit FAQ added to aid those who aren't sure what it means, or, aren't sure what we're looking for.
- Location Fields have been updated to remove "coordinate requests" as we no longer use them on the Chaos Map.
- Native/Immigrated Species Fields now request that if a species is "uncommon" or "custom" that it be linked.
- HyperLane Starting and Ending points also no longer request coordinates.
- All templates now have a Spoiler that include their code so you can copy and paste the templates more easily for use.
- "Planet Creation" Rules have had a rather large overhaul. The Rule of 2 Planets per Hex is no more.
[General Codex Guidelines]
- Remember that SWRP Chaos is PG-13 and that images in your submissions should reflect that.
- Do not link Image Credit back to any websites that contain or display material that is not PG-13.
- Imagery depicting real-world controversial events, or people, such as "Nazi" or "Fascist" groups should not be utilized. If you are uncertain whether or not an image is appropriate please feel free to reach out to Codex Staff and ask.
- Maintain a polite and constructive dialogue with Codex Staff at all times. Be respectful.
[General Submission Guidelines]
- Spoilers and Tabs are not permitted in submissions, however, images can be placed in Spoilers. This is the only exception. Text should not be hidden. [The sweet sweet BBCode is awesome on the new site. Have fun with tables and anchor points but make sure no text is hidden]
[Species]
- Keep in mind that Custom Species that have been submitted can be utilized by other writers. It is suggested that members discuss their intent with the original author, however, it is not required.
- NPC's can be made without a Custom Species Submission or a Canon Equivalent, however, a Judge can request it if they deem it necessary.
- Only a Major Faction has the resources necessary to role-play having a large fleet, army, etc.
- The "Banned Species" list is now a page in the Codex Rules article over being a pinned sticky in the forum.
- "Image Help" is now a page in the Codex Rules article over being a pinned sticky in the forum
- Submission Modifications has a new thread.
- Codex Second Chance has a new thread.
