Cartao
Spaarti Creations Main Facility

Ce Perlo was unimpressed by what she saw. The female Kaminoan scientist that Taeli Raaf had hired to be the chief geneticist and overseeing cloning engineer for Spaarti Creations was severely disappointed in what she had found on her arrival to Cartao, but as was her species' custom, she didn't reveal it to anyone. The facility was, in a word, lackluster at best. Stagnation had not been kind to the company, nor had the restrictions placed on it by the Trade Federation helped matters.

Her first act on her arrival had the dismissal of any and all remaining genetic materials from that time period. Spaarti would not be touching anything involving the Mantis clones, not again. Staff had been replaced, or she was in the process of replacing them, with trusted geneticists. Many of them were Kaminoan like herself, expatriates that had fled with their valuable knowledge from the Galactic Empire. Master Raaf was sparing no expense in getting Spaarti off the ground and among the finest cloning operations in the galaxy, hence why Ce Perlo was waiting for the arrival of those that had wishes to donate genetic materials or brain scans, or those that would be offering training once the cloning program was officially begun again.

Contracts had to be signed, credits exchanged, and data obtained. It was going to prove to be a busy time for her.

Jaster Awaud

Elder of Clan Awaud
Character
It had to have been nearly 10 years since he was back here. Spaarti Creations Main Facility where he was once hired to assist with the production of a Clone Army for someone. The details were starting to get blurry for him and he was lucky to even remember that once accomplishment that he was able to succeed with Patrica. Still he had a weird connection with destiny that when he heard that the old company was looking for assistance, he really saw no reason not to assist. It was interesting to see that a Kaminoan was in charge as he entered the room with the doctor.

Looking at the.... he realized he was never able to tell the gender of their species, so it would be best to keep it gender neutral possibly. He still wondered if this was [member="Taeli Raaf"], the individual that had send the request to them. That did not sound like a Kaminoan Name, but he would not judge. Walking up to the tall doctors office, he knocked on the glass door, "Ah, I am Jaster Awaud, I was asked to meet here for some Donating and Training?"

Jaster had taken some time away from the Fel Empire, leaving some of the decision making the the Moff Council as to not seem like some kind of dictatorship. He, without a second thought, agreed to leaving the Empire on a 'Diplomatic Mission' to some far flung world. Now he just traveled in normal close and wore a cap, though he never had shown his face as the leader of the Fel Empire, he was sure their were some who knew.

The Firrerreo was a curious creature. In a clone body herself, one which had been created without a consciousness of its own as to be salvaged for her resurrection, Braith was something of an enigma. Once upon a time she had been a singular woman, an Alunrovaan that had her own feelings, her own thoughts, and her own individual experiences - now she could claim ownership to the memories, the experiences, and the lives of over a thousand different people. All of these different paths taken by the souls that had made up her new psyche had, over time, consolidated into one single persona but she still by and large Braith Achlys, only changed by experience and circumstance. A master of close combat and melee weapons, not to speak of her use of alchemy and some other more arcane expressions of the force, she was the perfect fit for such a project as to provide clones with a memory template for experience in fighting.

Flash memory writing, or something of that nature, was what it'd been called - the thing she'd volunteered to provide her memories for. A machine would more or less cause her to go through those moments in her past and relive the memories where she fought with swords, spears, and makeshift clubs or batons and then record the neurons that fired in her nerves, the activity in her brain, and the images that ran through her mind. It was an amazing process - one could theoretically make an exact copy of her mind if they so wished.

She would have provided herself as a genetic template, but someone had mentioned the fact that cloning those with a powerful presence in the force would result in madness in the clones, or in early deterioration of the clone's bodies in most cases. So she was here, at the Spaarti lab, to provide her experiences, in memory form, of combat.

Ever since the blight that extinguished the light of civilization had subsided, allowing for life to flourish once more, there were conflicting reports of what transpired before the four-hundred years darkness. One of these accounts were of an ancient Mandalorian warrior, who supposedly perished on the sands of an arena, had been selected to be the prime candidate for a cloned army. If these stories were true, that meant something similar was about to take place with a Thyrsian Sun Guard - who were cultural rivals to the myriad clans of Mandalore. The thought alone brought about an undisputed sensation of pride swell within his chest. Even though he had never experienced the joys of coupling with another, or spawning a family of his own, the mercenary felt as if he was to become the spiritual father to countless warriors that would bear his face.

Such a thought left him partially perturbed at first, but in the end, the tantalizing allure of wealth had given the desert-born warrior all the reasoning he would need to accept this lucrative contract.

Much like the Grand Army of the Old Republic, Khonsu was slated to train the first batch of training sergeants that were given birth by the cloning process, which would allow him to pass on his knowledge and expertise to subsequent generations. This act of passing the figurative torch would see to the survival of his martial culture, should the worst ever come to pass. These cloned soldiers would become the inheritors of his people’s legacy if their struggle against the Echani reached a fateful terminus. In many ways, not only was he passing on his hopes and his dreams for distant Thyrsus, and the immortalization of his culture, the mercenary was bequeathing these copies his proverbial seed of vengeance as well.

When the transit to the surface of Cartao, and the Spaarti facility thereafter was complete, the Sun Guard had roused himself from the heart of his vessel and placed one armoured foot in front of the other. Eventually, the path carried him towards where he needed to be - which in turn was guided by the courteous hands of those employed by the mercenary’s mysterious benefactor. When he had arrived, the Thyrsian swiftly decrowned himself and tucked his swept-back helmet underneath his arm, before silently acknowledging those that populated the sterile chamber.

Ce Perlo blinked slowly as the first three individuals arrived to the facility, giving nothing away as to her emotions as her species did. Master Raaf had informed her that there may be some stragglers, but once she deemed enough volunteers had arrived, she was to begin the process. The Mandalorian man was already on file from the days Miss Garter had operated the company, so it was mildly interesting that he was once again deciding to work with the company. The female was an unknown quantity, although her race had several unique traits that might be beneficial, even if she only consented to memory scans. But it was the Thyrsian that drew her attention the most, her pale eyes examining the man in the way only a scientist could look at their primary specimen.

"Master Raaf wishes me to thank you all for coming, although she regrets not being able to meet you all in person," she said, bowing her long neck to the three arrivals. "I am Ce Perlo, Chief Geneticist of Spaarti Creations, and Overseer of Cloning Operations on Cartao. On behalf of the company, I want to extend my personal gratitude for your assistance."

More Kaminoans would appear, each one holding datapads. These would be the scientists that would be collecting the samples and brain scans from the volunteers.

"My colleagues here will be happy to lead you to where the work will begin. Before we begin, Master Raaf required of me that I ask if the method of payment you will be receiving today was sufficient. If not, she is more than happy to accommodate any requests."

To say that it was unsettling to be the subject of a Kaminoan’s gaze for a lengthy period of time, was an understatement. Their bulbous eyes and elongated necks gave them an almost serpentine appearance, coupled with their thinned arms and flowing garments. However, despite the uncomfortable notions that built beneath his guarded mind, Khonsu remained outwardly unbothered by the fish-person’s gaze.

When the creature had introduced itself as Ce Perlo and had bowed with unnerving fluidity at those that were gathered within the chamber there was a part of the mercenary that felt he was obligated to return the gesture. These people, if his prejudice could allow them such lofty titles, were paying him a king’s ransom - so being polite was the least that he could do in turn. However, instead of mimicking the length bobbing gesture made by the towering Kaminoan, the Thyrsian elected to nod - curtly. It wasn’t anything special, or overblown, but it was certainly enough to match his infamous reputation and keep true to his taciturn characteristics.

As the introductions were complete and the apologies given due to the absence of Master Raaf - their mysterious contractor; more of Perlo’s kind had flooded into the chamber, their bulbous eyes transfixed to the datapads and their newfound specimens where appropriate. When the tides of cloth-bound flesh had finished entering the chamber, they stood silently - not wanting to interrupt their superior’s inquiry.

His eyes didn’t waiver from Perlo, despite the plethora of distractions that were offered. Khonsu did all he could to focus on the creature’s words and mulling over the options of asking for more than what he was contractually owed. While his greedy nature would’ve pressed for more than what he was getting, the Sun Guard simply shook his head in response to her statement.

“No,” The Mercenary expressed plainly, allowing his sonorous tones to roll off his tongue. “What I’ve been offered is sufficient enough, and I am ready to begin at your leisure.”

"Very well," Ce Perlo stated, giving no indication to the Thyrsian whether she thought his decision was good or bad in her words of mannerisms. A datapad would be handed to him, with his payment of nine and half million credits prepared to be sent to which account he wished. Once he had entered his information, the datapad would ping and the man would be much richer than before.

"If you will just follow my colleague, he will see you to the... examination room," she continued. Examanitation was the right word yes? It was much more neutral than extraction chamber. The male Kaminoan she gestured to would bow his long neck, and begin leading Khonsu to a room with a solitary metal table for him to sit on, different medical machinery filling the chamber.

"We will begin be harvesting saliva, blood, soft tissue, and bone marrow samples," the male with Khonsu said in the same emotionless voice as all other Kaminoans. It was often said that when their homeworld flooded, they had left all ethics on the seafloor, along with their empathy. Emotional displays were generally limited to their eyes widening, more so than usual, but that was about it. A machine with a long needle would whir into place, the male dabbing Khonsu's arm with disinfectant. Another, much bigger needle was in place near his sternum.

"This may cause some mild discomfort."

In the office, Ce Perlo regarded the others and waited for whether or not they had any special payment requests before they were taken by her other colleagues.

He had no business in cloning himself unlike the very late Jango Fett which provided a grand army for the Republic during the Clone Wars and the rise of Palpatine's Empire. He disapproved of it like some Mandalorians, but he wouldn't say no to training one. He had already trained the first batch of Mantis clones during the previous Republic that fell to the nonstop conquest of the late One Sith and Ra's reign as Sole Ruler of the Mandalorians. He had made sure those clones were much more efficient than the Fett clones of the Clone Wars, but made sure not reveal all his secrets. It'd be foolish as it could be used against him one day.

And so he was contacted by some cloners for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the privilege to train a clone army that would be a force to reckon with. Not that it was once-in-a-lifetime as he already experienced that several years ago, but no matter. This type of job paid well and another lump sum of credits would do well for him. A great contribution to his family and clan now that they were exiled and enemies of the current tyrannical reign on Mandalore.

He had arrived at Cartao, his second time visiting this planet, and was well expected and received by the cloners as they awaited for him.

Jaster Awaud

Elder of Clan Awaud
Character
Jaster liked being in the laboratory of a Kaminoan Scientist, they always had a way to make the walls shine. Listening to the information provided by the doctor.

He walked up to Ce Perlo and offered a data chip, "These are a selective brain scan of my service history, Tactical analysis while in service to the Galactic Republic, Ship Based Combat and One Sith Space Tactics, and some of my Combat Experience with Force Users of all kinds," He did not agree to be clones, being as he held some delicate positions around the galaxy, he chose to go a different route. "I also agreed to a full body scan and blood screening for genetic markers, where do you need me."

He was a genetisist and pretty well known for his somewhat unorthodox creations, but he also helped many companies develop other means of curing and sometimes causing diseases. He knew what to agree to and what not to to prevent his full person from being clones. Most likely they wanted some genetic markers of some individuals to increase the development of the base line clone. It was smart, even if Jaster did not show it, he was a 106th generation pure blooded Mandalorian. There was more then likely some genetic marker hiding dormant withing his DNA. Just leave it to a Kaminoan to find it.

"Ready when you are doc."

It was at that moment he saw [member="Vilaz Munin"] from the corner of his eye. It was just in passing, but he knew full well what the man looked like. Being the man of many titles and who obsessed with knowing all he could, there was no mistake. He was here on buisness, and as such would not start anything with the man who was wanted by the Mand'alor. He also did not serve her as one of her pawns, but as a friendly ally, hopefully the leader of Clan Munin would see it the same way when he found out Jaster was also Mandalorian.

Nediji's Valor touched down on Cartao, ferrying only the mercenary Azula Merr. The golden ship powered down slowly and the entrance ramp descended to the ground as the door at the top of it slid open. Azula Merr, clad in her armor, walked down the ramp and looked upon the facility. Her reasoning behind coming to this planet, which she had never been to before, was strictly business. She was hired for her combat expertise in order to oversee and train clones for her employer.

She was truly excited.

She never had the pleasure of passing knowledge onto another. But, she was ready to do so. She entered the facility's main entrance, looking around for where she needed to be.

After the transfer of funds were complete, and his personal account swelled with the sudden influx of credits, the Thyrsian would return the datapad to the creature that had offered it to him with a half-hearted smile. The man was certain that his gratitude would’ve fallen on deaf ears, as these Kaminoans seemed distant, and uncaring - with their thoughts focusing only on the task at hand. Their work was or had become their life, and has found himself in a similar position with his varied employment as a Soldier for hire, Khonsu could respect that. With the apathetic smile fading from his darkened lips, the Mercenary gathered his helmet from a nearby dolly and had followed after the Kaminoan who would handle the collection of his genetic material. He would’ve had to have been an idiot if he was to believe Ce Perlo’s words about his eventual destination being an examination room. However, the Thyrsian was certain it was meant to be hilarious in some manner, as there must’ve been fools who’ve fallen for such a simple play on words before.

That brought a soft chortle forth from his armoured form, and once again as they passed through the door that had led them into the... examination room. Such an appellation was ill-suited for what lay before the Sun Guard’s eyes as the man passed through the retracted portal; lending credence to his earlier train of thought regarding Ce Perlo’s words. His mind snapped back to reality as the male Kaminoan had broken his momentary silence, speaking of what samples they would extract from his armour-bound form. Whilst the long-necked creature had gone about his business, gathering up what supplies he needed, Khonsu began removing portions of his body armour. His helmet was perched alongside his unclasped gauntlets, and the segmented pieces of his chest-piece lay beneath the empty tabletop. It left his torso bare, save for the unconnected portions of his matte black bodyglove and burnished pauldrons. When the Thyrsian was partially undressed, he was directed to stand atop a silvered platform, where two armatures - tipped with needles had swung into place.

One rested above his sternum, and the other was directed towards his outstretched, and unarmoured arm.

As the Kaminoan dabbed his arm with a disinfectant swab, Khonsu exhaled and nodded with a single motion - informing the creature to begin. When he inhaled, the needles shot forward filling his semi-armoured figure with pinching agony. He wanted to scream but did his best to hold back and endure. His belief was that he had gone through worse things in his life, but this? This fresh anguish had quickly risen to the pinnacle of the pyramid. The man’s jaw tightened, before loosening a bestial roar - one that was followed by his taloned fingers snapping outwards and grabbing hold of the Kaminoan’s elongated neck. He would endure, but the same could not be said of the creature that sparked the sudden sensation of pain.

The pain had surged through his veins like wildfire and forced his grip to tighten around the alien’s neck. Khonsu’s eyes began to water, just as frothing trails of salvia began to spill from his tightly clenched teeth. He would endure. The words repeated themselves over and over again within his mind, seeking to defy the agony rippling through his body. He must endure, as there was no other option, nor the ability for him to turn back from whence he tread. When the process was complete, and the needles retracted, Khonsu felt the strength from his grip loosen. The Kaminoan crumpled to the floor, with shock having drained the creature’s face and bulging its enormous eyes from their sockets. As there would be others that would doubtlessly fill the alien’s place, the Sun Guard looked at them through watery eyes.

“I’ll need a new painkiller,” He stated, with his lips curling into a bestial snarl. “It seems this one didn’t do the job well enough.”

When confirmation did come from his attendant, a second Kaminoan would enter the chamber and see their colleague dead on the floor, neck clearly snapped in half from the powerful subject's grip. Not uttering a word, the new doctor picked up the datapad from their colleague, looking over the display. The bone marrow and blood samples had been extracted successfully, and even better, the incident had been recorded. They would add the observations to the subject's file, making note that strength, aggression, and pain threshold were easily within acceptable limits.

"Initiate subroutine Calm," the second Kaminoan said, taking his deceased colleague's seat. A small stim would lower and stick itself in Khonsu's right arm, releasing a powerful set of painkillers into his body. "Well," a glance down at the body, "at least the samples were obtained. We still require a soft tissue and saliva sample."

The trademark emotionless of his species clearly on display. The samples taken would already be on their way to lower levels where the working cloning equipment was located. It would not take long to start making the clones of the Thyrsian. But ti could be done better.

The new arrivals would be ushered into Ce Perlo's office while Jaster, his datachip in their custody now, was going to be escorted to his own room to begin the procedure of scanning his brain. His training duties would take place afterwards, although before he left, he would receive payment in full upfront as well. The woman known as Braith had yet to say anything, perhaps she was in deep thought on whether she wanted something else other than credits.

"Mister Munin and Miss Merr, welcome to Cartao," the female Kaminoan greeted. "Before we begin, my employer has requested I ask if the credit sums being offered for your services is adequate or if you desire something else in compensation."

"The credits we've agreed on is more than enough," the Mandalorian Warlord said to the Kaminoan as he was greeted by her and accompanied by someone else that was foreign to him. It didn't mattered to him who this "Miss Merr" was to him, but perhaps later for this grand project that was said to outshine the once and mighty Fett clones of the past. Could it be done? Absolutely. Just need to right template and technology for such thing.

He'd be here for a long time, but he'd have some of his elite clansmen to fill in his place when he needed some time to himself. Raising a clone army wasn't easy. It took years. Years to raise, train, and arm them. Nothing could be in shortage. Everything had to be align and not a single line must be skewed. It all had to be perfect.

"When do we start," the Munin asked to the Kaminoan as he was more than eager to begin.
