STRENGTHS
  • Heavily Armed and Armoured - The Claymore is a durable and hard hitting sword and the cruiser shares many similarities. At 1km in length the cruiser lays just below a star destroyer and is lined with heavy weaponry and durable shielding and armour plating, allow it to excel in its role as a heavy hitting security cruiser.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow - The Claymore is a slow moving and unmanoeuvrable ship, with lots of the onboard space being used up to power the weaponry and shields. This prevents the ship from taking on missions requiring speed, such as pursuing ships where smaller and faster vessels could outrun the heavy cruiser.
DESCRIPTION
With the collapse of the Risen Empire Okins Industries fled the system to the mid-rim, it's assets and fleet were severely diminished in the process. Despite the many setbacks the Vergesso still stood as well as dozens of ship blueprints taken from Risen Imperial Engineering Corps facilities, the Claymore designs among them. The Claymore was then put into production in a bid to regain the large loss of profits from the Risen Imperial venture. The ship was initially designed after the
Battle of O'reen where an independent Imperial warlord was able to swiftly gain the upper hand against the smaller Risen Imperial fleet by gaining starfighter and capital ship superiority. The Claymore is designed to counter this, being armed with anti-capital and anti-starfighter weaponry the ship was intended to act as security for larger capital ships. Despite the absence of the Risen Imperial fleet Okins Industries engineers are confident the Claymore could still have its uses in many fleets.
