OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

[*]Company Submission: N/A

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Clan Sarad
  • Classification: Clan
  • Loyalties: House Skirata, Occasionally the Mand'alor
  • Organization Symbol: See Image above
  • Description: Clan Sarad was a Mandalorian clan hailing from Shuror. Clan Sarad were some of the fieriest warriors of House Skirata. At least two House Skirata leaders were born from this clan which made the relatively small clan a powerful voice within House Skirata's Elder Council.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

  • Headquarters: Mandalore, Shuror
  • Realm: Mandalore
  • Domain: Clan Sarad does not claim dominion over any one place and are spread throughout Mandalore. However a large concentration of the clan's elders and many bloodlines leading back to the original founders can be found in Shuror on Mandalore.
  • Notable Assets:
    The Orga Sarad

SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Hierarchy: The hierarchy of Clan Sarad was similar to many Mandalorian clans. Final say and authority on clan matters fell to the Alor. However, there were many cases and events that were overseen by the clan Elders such as the Verd'gotten of orphans and Cin Vhetinse, what they called non-Mandalorians who wished to become Mandalorian. Outside of those two things, much of the clan's hierarchy only came into effect during war time in which case the clan followed a meritocracy. The entire clan fell under the protection and affiliation of House Skirata however and if the Alor of House Skirata were to get involved, their ruling trumped the Alor of Clan Sarad. The current Alor of Clan Sarad is Hush Sarad.
  • Membership: Birth, marriage, or adoption.
  • Influence: Clan Sarad itself held sway within House Skirata and many of Mandalore's bes'uliik riders came to them for teaching but the small clan didn't have much if any pull in the grand scheme of Mandalorian politics. They did not operate or maintain a fleet like some of the larger clans and Houses and they did not actively participate in most wars. However, the legend of their founding left the clan with a certain reputation when it came to battle prowess.
  • Climate: Private and secluded, members of Clan Sarad tended to keep to themselves and avoid the larger politics of Houses and extraplanetary strife.
  • Reputation: Due to the history of Clan Sarad, many Mandalorians looked at them with a sense of pride. Honorable and good hearted, Clan Sarad were seen as one of the few true warrior tribes of Mandalore that focused almost primarily on the combat prowess of their members over their scholarly education.
  • Rules: Resol'nare and the rules of House Skirata
  • Doctrines: Outside of the Resol'nare Clan Sarad did not follow any one doctrine, but hels firm that to be a Jedi was to not be Mandalorian. To them it was one or the other.
  • Goals: To provide military support to House Skirata and provide a strong environment for Mandalorian orphans.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
On a cold winter's day on the outskirts of Shuror a small orphanage was beginning to warm itself. The headmaster woke the orphans and fed them an warm, oat-based dish common in the area with a side of seared To Vhin. It was a hearty meal meant to keep the orphans full long into the day of work that was before them. It hadn't even been a full year since the Beskar Rebellion and the Second Mandalorian Civil War continued to keep the Mandalorian skies ablaze. The orphans of this place were headed to a nearby military camp. They polished weapons and armor, worked with droids and soldiers to fix up bes'uliik, and other small tasks around the base. The base was far enough from any of the main fighting that it was deemed safe enough for the orphans to work, many of them still children with only a handful of them nearing Verd'gotten age.

When the orphans arrived with the headmaster however the base was being overrun, but not by Mandalorians. Vong from the Vong Wastes had pushed up on the base and nearly taken it over. The orphans' shuttle was spotted and downed near the middle of the base and the headmaster was killed in the crash. The orphans, led by the oldest, Var, managed to escape the base and returned to the orphanage with a small stockpile of weapons. The Vong continued their march, passing by the orphanage and assaulted the building. Led by young Var the orphans managed to hold the Vong in the orphanage complex for a full day after activating an old bes'uliik and modifying construction walkers to use in their defense. Their defense allowed for a combined attack from the two warring Mandalorian factions to converge on their location and forced a Vong retreat. The battle would be known as Little Ironweed and would be the first battle of the Vong-Mandalorian War. The soldiers, impressed by the orphans' resolve, battle skills, and incredible war strategy, the Mandalorian general that mounted the rescue passed the orphans through their Verd'gotten despite their age. Var, who had turned 14 on the last day of the defense took on the name Sarad, after the field of Ironweed flowers that had helped the children in their defense of their orphanage and by extension the rest of Shuror. The stylized image of the Ironweed became the clan's symbol.

Var took with him the oldest of the orphanage and joined the war against the Mandalorian Vong. When he and the others returned to the orphanage he adopted the entire complex into the clan. Clan Sarad would go on to join House Skirata and produce some of the most talented Bes'uliik riders in the House as well as produce a unique scout vehicle based off of old farm equipment. For the next few hundred years Clan Sarad was the tip of House Skirata's spear and at least two of the Alors from Clan Sarad would go on to lead House Skirata with Var being one of them.
