  • Organization Symbol:
    falcon-icon-17.jpg
  • Description: Clan Kelborn is one of the oldest Mandalorian Clans based on Mandalore, with ancient ties to Clan Skirata.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Formerly Mandalore. Now, the Clan is fractured with no centralized leadership or hierarchy to speak of.
  • Domain: Prior to the Red Coronation, Clan Kelborn laid claim to vast stretches of land on Mandalore itself.
  • Notable Assets: N/A
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: Prior to the Red Coronation and the destruction of Mandalore, Clan Kelborn was structured much like many other notable Mandalorian Clans - loosely. In ancient times, when Mandalorians were restricted to the planet of Mandalore itself, the Clan was governed by a War Chief or ’Akaan’alor’ similar in power and authority to the role of ‘Mandalore’ in later & modern society. Over the millenia, Mandalorian society became less centralized on the clan level due to the fierce independence its people are known for, with a few exceptions throughout history during times of turmoil or great trial. As the Mandalorian people became more numerous and spread from their home into the stars above, Clans too became much larger, and more decentralized. Pockets of clans became far more common, with said groups turning to elder warriors for guidance given their superior skill and experience, organizing into loose patriarchal societies.
  • Membership: Prior to the Red Coronation, the clan’s numbers could easily be considered into the thousands, if not tens of thousands. While Mandalorian culture used to be hereditary back in ancient times; membership is similar for Clan Kelborn as it is for the majority of other Mandalorian clans. One could be born a Mandalorian, or could be adopted by a member of the clan. It’s most notable member is the legendary figure that founded the clan, Kelborn himself.
  • Climate: Currently, Clan Kelborn is fractured beyond the point of recognition.
  • Reputation: Within Mandalorian society, Clan Kelborn is generally regarded as one of the oldest and proudest Clans. While never rising to the influence of other clans, such as Viz’la, Kryze, or Skirata, Clan Kelborn has yielded its fair share of notable figures that have brought both honor and glory to its name. They are known for their loyalty, steadfastness, and reliability. Historically, the clan in general is known to have supported Republic influence over Sith influence, such as during the days of Mandalore the Vindicated’. In recent history, While Clan Kelborn was one of the few that contained Pro-Alliance sympathizers, the Clan as a whole still followed the Sith into war. Outside of Mandalorian society, they are likely viewed with the same stereotype as other Clans, be they good or ill.
  • Curios: While not required, many who identify as part of Clan Kelborn often proudly adorn the clan crest on their armor - a falcon with wings outstretched.
  • Rules: As all true Mandalorians, Clan Kelborn generally holds the Resol’nare as sacred, and required to truly be counted among their number.
  • Goals: At this point in time, given the fractured nature of the Clan as a whole, it has no real goals or agendas.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
According to the earliest records of the Clan archives, the clan was founded by a warrior who went by the name ‘Kelborn’, who fought in the service of ’Mandalore the Preserver’ in his quest to reunite the Mandalorian people after their utter defeat during the Mandalorian Wars. For thousands of years, the clan’s history is full of a myriad of conflicting accounts and records, primarily referencing the many internal conflicts the clans were subject to. The main historical references known about them were 300 years after Mandalore the Preserver, when the Clan supported the rebellion of Jicoln Cadera against Mandalore the Vindicated.

In more recent history, Clan Kelborn was regarded as a very traditional clan, observing the ‘old ways’ of Mandalorian society; namely strict adherence to the Resol’nare. In the years leading up to the Great Galactic War, several key members within the clan espoused support for the Galactic Alliance and her allies, but were soon purged by the majority of those within their clan and Mandalore as a whole, forcing those who remained with such views to flee for their lives across the galaxy. Some surviving elements of these ‘exiled’ Mandalorians served within irregular companies alongside the armies of the Alliance, but their numbers were dwarfed by the vast numbers of their kin who supported the Sith instead. During the events surrounding the Red Coronation, those who formerly supported the Sith stood in dogged defiance on Mandalore itself to the bitter end, resulting in the death of thousands of able-bodied warriors. While some survived to escape the carnage, Clan Kelborn is but a shell of its former self. While no one is certain of its current membership, it would be fair to assume that instead of tens of thousands, the clan would be fortunate to have one thousand still surviving throughout the galaxy today.
