STRENGTHS

DESCRIPTION

Taking heavy inspiration from the Imperial Royal Guard armor of old, Chrome Guardian armor was designed and constructed for a similar purpose: as protection for bodyguards of high ranking Mahporeenian officials and VIPs. Unlike Imperial Royal Guard armor, Chrome Guardian armor is even more protective and durable, thanks to its use of starship grade Doonium. Chrome Guardian armor is also plated in a layer of Chromium, giving its wearers and especially impressive appearance and presence. Most potential assassins would certainly think twice about attacking their target when faced with a squad of Chrome Guardians.

That being said, the armor does have a number of flaws, with one of the most serious being its excessive weight. Though Doonium is incredibly hard and difficult to destroy, it is also quite heavy, which is why it is generally used in starship construction and not in the creation of personal armor. For the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant however, Doonium is in relatively large supply, though it is expensive and time consuming to melt down for armor. As such, it was decided that Doonium would be the primary material for Chrome Guardian armor, though its weight does slow down its wearers and negatively impacts their stamina.

Chrome Guardian armor is also extremely conspicuous due to its use of salvaged Chromium, making it nearly impossible to hide in for engage in stealth. It is also incredibly loud, meaning that any would be assassins would easily be able to locate the exact position of those wearing this armor. That being said, Chrome Guardian armor is designed to be seen, and to show off the status and importance of those who are being guarded in the first place.
