OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Designed as an optional component of Dzara bladed weapons, the Keystone can turn any sharp piece of metal into a deadly, armor-cleaving force of nature.
The Keyword can in theory be installed on a pre-existing sword or knife, but it is more common for the Dzara to simply manufacture blades with this mechanism already inbuilt. In large part, this is because few weapons can long withstand the metal-snapping force of hosting the Keystone.
The Keyword consists of a series of gossamer-fine Helsteel repulsor-manipulators woven into the very forging process of a Dzara blade. These serve to create a thin sheen of gravitic pull-distortion a few micrometers above the surface of the blade in question, but is focused most intensely around the edge or edges.
When such a blade strikes a solid surface, the repulsors react, pulling the modified blade into the surface with a brief but incredible force. Under most circumstances, this results in the molecular supercompression of the immediate area of impact, enormously increasing the cutting trauma of the weapon. This can cause the weapon to violently jerk in the user's hand when striking (or being struck by) the surface in question, and it takes a skilled and dextrous swordsman to utilize such weapons effectively.
Such a blade can achieve seemingly-supernatural acuity as far as metal edged weapons are concerned, though unless the sword in question is specifically designed to host the Keyword system, it can place enormous stress on the integrity of the weapon.
Likewise, the Keyword can protect its host weapon from a variety of external stressors, including contact with lightsabers, direct weapon impacts, and typical wear and tear.

- Greatly increases the armor-penetrative potential of a bladed weapon.
- Heavenly Strike: The Keystone greatly increases the cutting power of any attached melee weapon, as well as increasing its resilience to outside damage and wear.
- Rebellious: The Keystone causes a given blade to become more difficult to use, necessitating significantly greater skill from the user.
